I have my marathon, half marathon and parkrun pb in these. I use the Deviate Nitro Elite for Tempo / Intervals and Deviate Nitro 2 for long runs - I'm a Puma fanboy, such a good rotation with these 3 👍
@@AubreyRunning I have DNE1, DNE2 and DN2. For me DNE1 is really great for short efforts because it is significantly lighter than DNE2. DNE2 is a good shoe too but it is significantly heavier. The new upper is more secure (especially heel hold) and adds comfort at longer efforts. Molly Seidel got Olympic Bronze in a pair of DNE1 obvious I am no Molly Seidel but an average runner like you so DNE2 works better for me for long runs :) DN2 for me is a souped-up daily trainer. I bought DN2 as an alternative to Endorphin Speed, but I liked it more as daily trainer and also the outsole will last me longer.
Aubrey just bought my second pair of Puma Deviate Nitro 2 ( not the elite!) for £61!!!! in stunning black / lime green colourway for winter. Run just over 100 miles during the summer in my white pair and they are hands down my shoe of the year. Puma have really set the bar high in 23 let’s see what they’ve got up their sleeve for 24!!??
Oh wow, for £61!!!!! Send a link my way and will give them a go. That’s an amazing deal for such an amazing shoe! Yeah I agree that Puma has done amazingly well in 23 and I know there are major plans for 24! Most brands that didn’t release in 23 have big plans for 23 so let’s keep eyes peeled for what’s to come. What’s re you looking forward to them most in terms of next versions?
One thing I would love to see added to reviews: width in the toe box. I know I'm not the only one who needs a roomy toe box and it's not a stat that gets covered. Awesome review, Aubrey!
That’s a good shout! I keep meaning to talk about the fit of the shoe and if it’s true to size but always forget and get carried away talking other things 😂😂😂
THRILLED that Puma reached out to you!! Puma in general have been really doing the running world a favour over the last year or 2 ... extremely good value for money, extremely versatile, very long wearing with one of the absolute best outsoles on the market, AND easy to find on sale too!! For us very average or beginner runners, and/or those on a budget with a very limited shoe rotation, the Elite 2 certainly is an awesome race shoe for many distances !!
I couldn’t agree more which is why I was so annoyed with the previous experience I had. I was so happy when they reached out to me and also massively happy to have received the replacement shoes and much more. They have not only rectified my issue but earned a loyal fan
Puma is supposed to come out with a V2 of this shoe in early 2024. It’s supposed to have all pebax foam, unlike the current model which has pebax only in forefoot.
Same here! I love the innovation and always appreciate new ideas. By them reaching out, I also think they are great for that and they earned a big fan!
@@marylandflyer5670 My understanding is that the heel will be Nitro foam but not Nitro Elite. Currently the heel is plain EVA. Switching to Nitro foam will reduce the weight a bit.
Yeah a VERY popular shoe this one!!! I've seen a few HM PBs done in these!! Dunno Aubrey but maybe you'd be interested in an interview Anthony from LA based channel Running for My Best Life did a couple of weeks ago with Corey Joyner: Being a Person of Color in the Running Community.
OH so that's what happens when the guy making the video copies the score from another section and forgets to change it, I'm a complete doughnut... my bad!
Puma velocity Nitro 2 has such short laces....it's a struggle everyday to tie a double knot😂. Even to just put my foot inside the Puma velocity Nitro 2 is a daily struggle... whereas it is as smooth as hot knife on butter in the Puma Deviate Nitro 2.

Have you tried the Deviate Nitro Elite 2? Those shoes are easily the best shoe these guys make!
@@AubreyRunning No, but thanks for the tip. I'll look out for some 👍

It that the 75th anniversary edition of DN2? I got one of those discounted at PUMA US side a while back. Black is great for winter running.
@@TolunayOrkun hi yes that’s right. Fantastic shoe 👍

Such a bad ass looking shoe.
Love the lighting and shots in this vid bro. Super high quality. Glad to see your channel growing.
That’s what caught my eye on it, the look! It’s important to look great 😂😂😂😂. Thank you for the feedback about the review as well, appreciated
I love that Puma tried something different with this shoe, hope they make a v2 sometime.
Great to hear they sent you a replacement!

Great review and video editing. I also did my 5k PB on the Puma Fast R this year went from 23.32 to 22.02
I’m coming for your time!
What do you say we aim for sub21 this year
Great video Aubrey, glad your second pair are living up to expectations this time!
I love the first one too but had the mishap with them which I’m glad hasn’t repeated in these
Just got these for £68! Glad that your second pair was better than the first as I was starting to regret getting the fast-r.
What??? From where???
Pro:direct! but It was for your first colourway
ur fitness is getting better champ
Yes sir… one day at a time. Still pushing as best as I can

I love for things like this! Let me check it out. I always love your recommendations and have now caught on the running smarter podcast. Great shout!
How come the outsole had such high praise but only had a 3/5? Loved this review Aubrey, only question I had!

I know I sound fussy when I talk about laces and lacing systems but I’m glad someone sees the significance of it. Thank you for this!
Awesome! Are these available to buy in the US? #bam
I think so! I’m not 100% sure but I didn’t think they would be limited to over here and not be available in the US! Give them a go!
Is good for walking?
No it’s not, much better shoes that from the Puma brand
Okay thanks
👍🏼
Thank you
Im pretty sure Puma had a focus group of 6th graders to design the Fast Rs 😅
😂😂😂😂😂 that’s hilarious
23:12? You should try running. 😂
As you say, that’s all I do. Try. But maybe if if I keep trying I will be as good as you one day
