I so hope you're not internally re-EQing on this like you do elsewhere, I can't describe how much I hate that! You trying to tell me what sounds good, to me, it's unacceptable. Your job is to record a flat frequency response, my job is to tailor it to my liking. I don't know how or when that ever became anything less than a simple fact, globally for all of mankind everywhere! Cheers 🍻
The 32bit float is what makes it unclip able. Without that you could double your SPL Level and still clip the audio. As for the signal to noise ratio of 72db, I'd defy you to hear the noise at that level. If it was possible to turn up the sound to a level at which you could hear the noise, you'd blow your ear drums. That is if you'd recorded any audio over the top. For example: When recording with a noise noise level of -72db it will be almost, if not imperceptible to hear it. And that is before you begin recording your audio over the top. Your noise level is always a minus figure as 0db is the max level before clipping occurs and this is where the 32bit floating point comes into the equation. As for your concern over having no more than a 123dn SPL level to play with let's consider what is the maximum sound pressure level possible on Earth? The Max SPL at standard atmospheric pressure is 194 dB SPL. 194 dB SPL is equal to 101,325 Pascals, which is atmospheric pressure. The troughs of a 194 dB SPL sound wave literally create a vacuum. Therefore, I wouldn't scoff at a 123db SPL Level.
@@JohnDeCarteretElvis: 32 bit is only for the built in DAC's. 123db is probably the mechanical threshold of the built in mic, or that's how I'm reading it anyway. Still easily defeated at a rock concert. 72 db is a very high noise floor rating. When most "pro" audio gear has a SN ratio above one hundred, 72 is very low! The audio world already knows it's a negative number since anything beyond 0 is clipping. Most of us in fact can easily hear a -72db noise floor hiss. Many examples of this on various channels here on the tube. I can't relate to pascals since my would runs on (in hg), but atmospheric pressure is dynamic, so the theoretical max spl would be also. Although, If we ever heard 194 db, we wouldn't hear much of anything afterwards 👂 Cheers 🍻
@@Finite-Tuning The incoming analogue signal is converted into digital via the ADC and recorded at (?) 32bit floating point. If the recorded signal only became 32bit Float on the way out at the time it is converted back into analogue then had the signal clipped on the way in, it would defeat the object of using 32bit float. The signal has to be recorded at 32bit Floating point, not afterwards. If you have a recording that isn't clipped, then you can convert it to 32bit floating point and work with that without clipping the signal. Yes, as you say the SN is comparatively low compared to professional audio equipment. Then again you are not comparing like for like when you consider the price difference. RODE have to compromise somewhere in order to keep the price down. I defy you to be capable of hearing a -72db signal level whether it be noise or a recorded audio signal. Take a recording, ramp it up to 0db and then reduce the level by -72db. You will not hear a thing. If 123db is easily defeated at a rock concert, I would imagine so would 194db, both of which refer to dynamics for which a microphone has to be capable of handling. The higher the dynamics a microphone is expected to have to deal with, the higher the price you pay. And the recording medium also has to be able to handle such dynamics, that is why professionals use the likes of compressors to enable them to control the dynamics of signal. There is more to recording audio than simply pushing the record button however good your equipment specs might be. That is why there are 'Amateur's and then there are Professional's who get paid. Just having the equipment doesn't mean you know how to use it, there is always a learning curve if you want to use the equipment to its fullest. It's another reason why manufactures have started to incorporate 32bit floating into their recording devices in order to cater for those who have little or no experience in how to make a successful recording beyond pressing the Record Button. And yes, it is also a desirable feature for pros as a safety net when having to cater for the unexpected. It also gives them greater freedom in which to work and the ability to cover projects that would have previously ben near impossible without using a high amount of compression. You also have to pay the price for the best, you can't expect to be provided with the best at the cheaper end of the market, whether it be consumer, prosumer or professional equipment. For what RODE have packed into this, it is very good value. To me, that about the cost of a fairly decent microphone. You may expect, but you can't have everything for nothing, that's where the word compromise comes in. You pay for what you get.
It seems really good. As you have a TRRS input in the receiver, in future versions, you can add an audio output jack in the transmitters so that you can add the talk-back feature. In this case the one shooting the videos can give tips to the host on the go. And if you allow this to be done even when the transmitters are connected to the RODECaster Pro 2, it would be crazy. Talk-back is very useful to TV-like shows and similar podcasts. However, you did a great job here. Congrats! 🎉
Hey Ricky. The unit you're talking about isn't made by us, so you won't be able to transmit directly from the transmitter to the unit, but if you get an adaptor to go into that unit, then yes, the two are compatible with one another.

@@rodemic Now I wish next firmware update or any new device that allow us to use these setup with more then 2 people. like if we have 4 people on set and have 2 of these kits or 6 people and 3 of these kits. please make a device or firmware update thatwe can connect that 2 or 3 receiver into one and then have out to our camera and in the same time seperate channels recording on that device. because many times I have more then 2 people and have not solutions found that trust worthy. there are 4 mics with one receiver but can't trust them. so if you people make something like that will love to have one even same style l ok ke this Pro. one receiver and 3 or 6 transmitters.

Absolutely Irshaad- since recieving so much positive feedback about the GainAssist mode on the Wireless ME, we knew putting both GainAssist (for perfectly adjusted recordings to your video device) AND 32 bit float (for flawless onboard recordings) on the same device would be a dream come true for one-person filming teams like yourself.

Honestly, I cannot think what else anyone could ask for! I wish I could tell this to my subscribers in Brazil, but Rode doesn’t seem to target Brazil… Rode, Good Job! Based on the specs this is the Perfect Mic! Question, does it work as a Audio interface if I connect it to my computer?
Hey there, there definitely will be distributors in Brazil for this product, if you sign up to the waiting list on the product page (rode.com/en/microphones/wireless/wirelesspro) you'll be able to find them when it launches in late August. And yes! It will work as a USB audio interface. 😎
@@rodemic - Here is a recommendation: Since the mic now features a built in timecode generator, it would be SUPER important to allow for Jam Sync so we could use multiple angles with cameras not connected to a rode mic. And/or creating AFFORDABLE independent Rode timecode generators to be connected to other cameras. I have an UA-cam Channel with 189k subs. It is in Portuguese and focus on Audio and Visual for Brazilians. Pls let me know in case you would like to connect… By the way, I have already reviewed the Rode Wireless 1, the The Rode Wireless 2, the Videomic Pro Plus, the Video Micro, the Smartlav, the Lavalier Go, the Lavalier Pro, the Procaster, the Rodecaster Pro and the NTG 5….
I really hope we will be able to jam sync these units! Otherwise us timecode users will just have to use it as a traditional wireless unit. Need to be able to jam so I can sync to multiple camera bodies.
@@rodemic OH NO!!! You guys crippled this system if I’m reading the timecode manual right!!! We NEED split manual audio out on TRRS and timecode LTC in/out simultaneously on USB (how about even actually simultaneously so we can send an external TC into the Pro with it repeating it out on the second USB channel onto the camera) with a proper adapter cable to BNC!!! 🤦🏼♂️ Even if we were baked in with only TC out we simply MUST have simultaneous split tracks and a third TC for it to be at all professionally usable and ideally TC in so we can rejam the Pro system on each camera startup while using the system’s new auto power off function! This as SO close to an instant buy but these are game ending critical mistakes for such a product!
@@rodemic Thx for the quick reply! The beauty of the FX3 and FX30 is that they fully support timecode so now all I have to do is jam sync my camera (with special cable) and I'm good to go. Can't wait!

Thanks Alltj, we have made some improvements to the circuitry and antennas that improve the wireless range and interference rejection compared to the Wireless GO II, so hopefully this will be the perfect wireless unit for you.
Such a great system. Just ordered mine from Sweetwater. I love the fact that comes with everything in a single package, including 2 high quality Lav mics.
It's still limited to the interference-prone 2.4Hz spectrum, yes? Does it have output level a pre-sets for to inhibit the internal mic on different iPhones? For Android models?
I`m just looking for a mic to do interviews with the buskers doing live streams here in Brighton. I already use the VideoMic Me L which is very good but I need one for external interviews. Will I be able to use it whilst doing UA-cam live streams using iPhones?
How can you miss the 48v phantom power XLR to send condenser mic audio to camera and iPhone! It would have been an all rounder, game changer, no brainer and audio industry disruptor only if it had Xlr as well.

Does it have individual gain control for each transmitter? I know the original GO II's only allowed 1 gain control setting that changed both transmitters, which was annoying if you had 2 speakers talking at 2 different volumes.
They have both 32-bit float onboard recording as well as GainAssist technology - both of which will eliminate the need to set independent levels on your TX.
32-bit float FTW 🙌🏼 Are you able to record stereo audio from a single transmitter? Or is it still only 1 track mono per receiver? (use case: receiver attached to camera, with transmitter connected to stereo microphone via 3.5mm jack close to subject)

Yes! finally. I was going to go with the DJI mics but they have latency issues. If you really deliver on the 32 bit float. I am in. I have already signed up for stock alert on B&H. I really do hope that you have a decent level for headphone monitoring. My wireless go II can't handle decent headphones.
Hey AV prod, using 4 kits should work fine, but be aware that the more units you use, the range will probably becomed a bit lower, and the risk of drop-outs may increase especially in an area with lots of WiFi. You can mitigate this to some extent by separating out the receivers. For example, rather than having them all next to each other, you can separate the receivers by a foot or two each, and maybe put them a bit higher up, or somewhere with line of sight to the transmitters. This will help with range and interference.
Dang! Now I need to come up with an excuse to get this that my wife will fall for, er, I mean, I need to create a need in her quest for Universally Recognized Girl Power.
Bro for how long have we been asking for a case that can fit in the dead cat.... Can you just mske the case a little bigger ?? Now we have to store the dead cat seperately and the mic seperately ... . That is super annoying....

32 bit is only for the built in DAC's.
Although, If we ever heard 194 db, we wouldn't hear much of anything afterwards 👂
Cheers 🍻
This is what happens when a brand listens to their customers, Love it!
Congrats! 🎉
Thanks Edgar! That sounds like a really helpful feature- we'll send this one onto the team.
@@rodemic that's really exciting 🔥. If/when you do this, I'll update my setup again 🤪. Thanks for noticing my suggestion 🙏🏽
Preordered on B&H!!! Thank you for making this system. As a documentary filmmaker, this changes the game for me!
How did you manage? Says preorders will start on August 28th.
Can I use this wirelessly with the rode vrc -01 aerocaster?
Hey Ricky. The unit you're talking about isn't made by us, so you won't be able to transmit directly from the transmitter to the unit, but if you get an adaptor to go into that unit, then yes, the two are compatible with one another.
Looks like you’ve smashed it out of the park with this one Rode team, this is definitely on the gear wish list!
I love it. I will going to sale all of my other mics setup and will get 2 or 3 kits of these. OMG the accessories are coming with this kit are almost 400 Dollars and that Pro Microphone system it self is more then 500 Dollars worth or more. and all you can get under 399 dollars WOW. I just done the preorder. WOW
We're really excited for the value our users are going to be getting out of the Wireless PRO. Thanks for your wonderful feedback!
32bit float and timecode with LTC to the camera! Take my money.....😊
ok I need this now how do i get it
Sale Price: $499.00CAD at Long McQuade in Canada. I'd say obviously for pros or those who can invest for high-end video filming. Great features for noise suppression, crucial to not get the sound of the ceiling fan or air vents in conference halls.
Looks amazing 👏
Thanks @AuthenTech! We're really proud of all the tech we were able to put into it.
Everything I wanted 💚🎧
Very intriguing! Super curious to see what real-world tests have to say.
Wdym the Theos has all these features plus removable batteries
Ok.
The timecode is pretty sick ! It's like a less flexible tentacles sync that can only sync with itself?
Second edit the trrs thing is also pretty crazy for leaving directors notes on a separate track .
Hmmm 🤔 I wanted the Theos .... But this is also pretty interesting
Wow we have been using the Rose 2 for a while and everything mentioned is what I hoped for now I can get it 🔥🔥🔥
As usual, you guys did a great job!
Thanks djTLMtv! As per usual ✅
As an upcoming filmmaker/ content creator, I am honestly blown away by all the new features! 32-bit float recording, charging case, mic monitoring, safety channel, and so much more..ive got to get my hands on this pro setup. I also do paranormal investigations, so this would be perfect to do my self recordings from a good distance! I can see this being used in so many applications / scenarios. Are you guys doing any type of sponsorships for content creators? I would love to test these out in the field! Thanks, RODE, for giving us more power under the hood for this wireless mic system, I cannot wait to check them out. 👍
Glad to hear you're excited by our new gear! Drop us a line via the contact form with a proposal for your spooky collab and our Partnerships team will look it over. rode.com/contact
Really nice job Rode!
32-bit wireless pioneer!
Love the locking connectors too!
So many great ideas in this....
How and where do i purchase these
You can sign up to our mailing list to be the first to hear when they drop. Stock should be available by the end of the month!
Wow ! Amazing ! I want to buy ~
Great! You can head over to our product page here and click "buy now" to find a retailer near you: rode.com/en/microphones/wireless/wirelesspro
This is going to place my one-man-band-workflow mind at ease!
Whoa!!! 32 bit float!!! 🥹
Glad to hear you're impressed Jason! We can't wait until you get to try it out.
Y dont you make a digital got shoe connector ???
Sony has one ..
Canon also has one .
Nikon also will come up with one soon
Make it a completely wireless system and you will have a winner....
Pls let me know in case you would like to connect…
By the way, I have already reviewed the Rode Wireless 1, the The Rode Wireless 2, the Videomic Pro Plus, the Video Micro, the Smartlav, the Lavalier Go, the Lavalier Pro, the Procaster, the Rodecaster Pro and the NTG 5….
@@rodemic please could you respond to the concerns regarding swappable batterries? We need to know.
As a happy user of the orginal Rode Go system I shall be looking closely at this as an upgrade option. Damn, I already have too much Rode gear! 🙂
Game changer.
I really hope we will be able to jam sync these units! Otherwise us timecode users will just have to use it as a traditional wireless unit. Need to be able to jam so I can sync to multiple camera bodies.
Am hoping the same! If it can't jam sync - either way in or out - there's not value in it. Everything else looks freakin' amazing tho!
Can you jam sync them??Please let us know..
Hey there! The answer to this question is yes- rode.com/en/user-guides/wireless-pro#section-using-timecode-with-the-wireless-pro
Even if we were baked in with only TC out we simply MUST have simultaneous split tracks and a third TC for it to be at all professionally usable and ideally TC in so we can rejam the Pro system on each camera startup while using the system’s new auto power off function!
This as SO close to an instant buy but these are game ending critical mistakes for such a product!
@@rodemic Thx for the quick reply! The beauty of the FX3 and FX30 is that they fully support timecode so now all I have to do is jam sync my camera (with special cable) and I'm good to go. Can't wait!
Want!
Wow, knocked this out of the park! I'll be picking it up for sure! Thanks Rode!
RODE has done it again. RODE can always have my money.
Jesus I was waiting for this auto power on off feature you just delivered. Switch on and off manually drive me crazy as I’m vlogging. I’ll buy this ❤
This is awesome! But after DJI Mic, for me it's strange to see that RODE still sticks to that bulky design. But the total pack of futures... Damn good! Will DJI strike back?
Finally… some real filmmaker’s features… I just hope for reliability stability that challenges the AVX. Not in price…though.
Thanks Alltj, we have made some improvements to the circuitry and antennas that improve the wireless range and interference rejection compared to the Wireless GO II, so hopefully this will be the perfect wireless unit for you.
I love the all new 32 bit float devices available!!! 😃
沒有 DJI MIC,RODE 做不出這些重大升級與改變,感謝 DJI。
Such a great system. Just ordered mine from Sweetwater. I love the fact that comes with everything in a single package, including 2 high quality Lav mics.
We appreciate the kind words Joe! We're super proud of all the value we're able to provide with the Wireless PRO.
this is straight up insane. need one already! sheeeesh!
Thanks for the love! 😍
A phantom power for Xlr support would sound really pro level.
You forgot a short TRS to XLR pro mic cable for mixers and onboard camera mixers like every other pro wireless system has.
Will you be able to feed in timecode from the camera or other devices to sync up? Or does it only output timecode to your camera?
Hey there, you can learn more about the multiple different timecode modes here: rode.com/en/user-guides/wireless-pro#section-using-timecode-with-the-wireless-pro
THANK YOU! God bless you guys! 😂
The only thing missing is a swapable battery, 7h is long but not enough for an avarage 10h shift 😅
Charging case is your solution. You always have a break 😅
@@laurenthenry yeah that's like a thing that sounds good, but ends up beeing much more annoying then practical. Swapable Batteries is a must have on a filmset, it may be enough for videography, but not cinematography. Also the Batteries just get worst with time, and if you can't swap them, you end up buying the device again
Lunch-Time is Charging-Time ;)
Does it have individual gain control for each transmitter? I know the original GO II's only allowed 1 gain control setting that changed both transmitters, which was annoying if you had 2 speakers talking at 2 different volumes.
They have both 32-bit float onboard recording as well as GainAssist technology - both of which will eliminate the need to set independent levels on your TX.
Amazing! I can't wait to get this!!
32-bit float FTW 🙌🏼
Are you able to record stereo audio from a single transmitter? Or is it still only 1 track mono per receiver?
(use case: receiver attached to camera, with transmitter connected to stereo microphone via 3.5mm jack close to subject)
32-bit float FTW indeed! Like the GO II, the transmitters are still mono. We're sure you'll be able to record some fantastic sounds walking around Japan with it though 😎🎏🎋
I don’t think Rode understand what they have done! This is honestly incredible!
only problem is the receiver records the audio in camera. audio in sony cameras suck. unless i record in transmitter. so receiver is almost useless for me
Looks amazing the only missing feature is to have the ability to sync up extra transmitters to a single receiver.
Awesome... I joined the wait list right away. Looking forward to it. I've been upgrading a lot of gear to 32 bit float... I would love to see 32 bit float in the Rodecaster Pro II.
I have no words...👏👏👏👏😀
Excellent video, can´t wait to use it.
Make the lav an option and cut the price plzzzzzz
Might have to get these since we film all our videos with the go ii, even though we’ve had issues with them. Still love Rode.
Thanks for being a part of the journey with us! If you've got any issues or questions about your Wirelesss GO IIs, feel free to send them through to us rode.com/en/support/contact
proprietary codec?
eh.. I can wait another 10 years.
Very excited to try this! Any idea of when it will ship?
Hey there Darrell, this one will be available in late August.
Hi do you still have to hold the power button multiple seconds to turn it on? thanks for anwering
Hey there! Thanks to the community's feedback, we made this device a bit quicker to turn on.
You guys have seriously done it all!
THAT 7 HOURS battery is a killer :(
Rode is hitting on everything lately! They haven’t missed!
Guys, you've done it again! Superb product. I owned the original Wireless Go, then moved to the Go II, and now you've made it even better. This is now on my shopping list!
Yes! finally. I was going to go with the DJI mics but they have latency issues. If you really deliver on the 32 bit float. I am in.
I have already signed up for stock alert on B&H. I really do hope that you have a decent level for headphone monitoring. My wireless go II can't handle decent headphones.
I already preordered. Lol I’m exited about these!
nice since my batteries in my wireless go 2 mics have bloating. Do you guys repair the battery bloating?
Chat with our Service Team and we'll see what we can do! rode.com/contact
3:05 wow 32bit float. excelent.
Hi, how many of these kits can you have in 1 room without risking interference? Would 4 kits work? I need 8 wireless mics
@@rodemic alright thank for the response!
wow very nice! Been really waiting for this! Would it be possible to sync timecode with a Tentacle?
Just take my money now!!!!
Dang! Now I need to come up with an excuse to get this that my wife will fall for, er, I mean, I need to create a need in her quest for Universally Recognized Girl Power.
Hmm, I know exacttly what you mean. You could always keep mentioning just how badly you need one and drive her nuts until she gives in and says yes!
Bro for how long have we been asking for a case that can fit in the dead cat.... Can you just mske the case a little bigger ?? Now we have to store the dead cat seperately and the mic seperately ... . That is super annoying....
Hey @popcornparam, to clarify, there is enough room in the case to put the windshield attachments in the case with the devices, but not while they're attached. There is also a separate protective case for all of the attachments. But we appreciate the feedback as always- will pass that onto the team.
@@rodemic I want to definitely store the mic with the dead cat attached.. taking it out and putting it back on takes precious time during the shoot .. plz make the changes
I’m getting this asap! I have the Go and my friend got the GoII and I too was about to. Glad UA-cam showed me this video! I’m getting this instead! I also like the case and that it comes with everything you need. This is how it should be
Thanks! We're overjoyed that we're able to provide so much value for our customers with the Wireless PRO. How it should be indeed!
@@rodemic yes, I do music so the things that some people don’t care about are a must for me.
Great job! Me and my colleague have been betting (and praying) you had 32-bit versions of the GO set high up on your agenda ever since we started using a MixPre II and Zoom F2.
