Hi Dave, thank you for all your great work. I have however some concerns with regard to Dock-2 replacing Dock-1. For Urban safety and first response it seems to me that some paramount features of the M30 T have been dropped. The range finder, distant location geotagging, tracking, subject-counting and hi-res zoom capability did wonders for surveillance and policing efficiency. I know that 3D and 2DT have some new AI capabilities as well as integrating 3D map navigation, but overall they are a step back for law enforcement. Do you have any idea why Dji downgraded the stellar capabiiities of Dock-1?
@DakarBlues In my personal opinion I just don't see this as a public safety option yet because most agencies need a drone that you can fly live as situations are fluid and constantly changing. This is a drone that's primary purpose is to perform repeatable and programmable automated flights. Dock 2 is made for a smaller aircraft so that it can be more portable so features for inspections were the most important in this rollout. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Very good video... let me do a question. The dock must be stationary all the time or could I install it on the rooftop of a jeep or a truck for field services?
It has to have ethernet connection so if you had something like a wireless router in the vehicle that has ethernet it would work. You would most likely also need NTRIP because it would be too difficult to setup a base station to get a known point all the time.
When using the computer software to see the live view, the drone has a RC link (DJI OC3) to the dock and then it pushes that data via the Ethernet port?
We are engaged in the construction of asphalt roads. Is this station applicable in our case, so that the manager sits in the office and monitors the progress of construction? Is it possible to use this station at sites with a weak 4g signal? (Google translator)
The professional drone industry is pretty young, and something I myself joined as an operator. Seems like you might have forgotten the reason many of us became drone operators.. because we love flying, and we needed purposeful employment. Great shame to see the excitement around automating-away the livelihoods of potentially many human pilots.
@@SteelCityDrones Dock 2 is not a delivery solution, it's a product specifically targetting the automation of work (e.g. utility inspection) that us human operators currently perform in the field.
He is simply an ambassador demonstrating the technology. Mind you, Automation is not the solution for everything. However, applications as he’s described (construction progress, surveillance, condition monitoring, etc) are worthwhile to automate, leaving you more time to do other things. There will always be those applications where automation is not feasible. Oh, and hobby flying will always be there 👍 😊l
The only video out there that even mentions shooting points to calibrate. Thank you. DJI's manual and tech support total fuck this up every time.
This is a phenomenal review on this dock, nothing was left out and was made very clear.
What a breakdown! Your attention to detail is second to none.
Very informative. One of the best overviews ive seen for anything lol
Always the best, you never short change a review
Very informative video Dave!

Please 🙏 make 4 hr video on everything about dock 2
Wow❤
I want drones that can be used for training but also to locate victims during floods

If your projects are longer term I would say yes.
Do you need internet for the dock to upload the photos.
@@VectorGeomaticsTechnologies yes.

What do you think is going to happen with drone deliveries? The future is automation.

@@Jbillimoreit’s automation just like deliveries will be. The push for drone automation will keep getting stronger as technology advances.
