Oh hello. Here it is. We had no idea what we were doing, by doing this tune. But we did it anyway.
Many thanks to James Beaton and Tim DeLaney! And thanks to Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler & Bill Ward for writing this. And of course, Ozzy.

Holy crap, this is good ... F*ck anyone who says they couldn't write great tunes.👍
Greetings Mashup Master! Puddles is amazing 🤘🏼
The mashup master has spoken
OH LAWN CHAIR!
Thanks Bill!!!
Oh hello! Thanks for all the spirited responses. I updated a few things here. Black Sabbath gets the credit. Especially Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler & Bill Ward. I can't wait to dig into more songs like this. It seems you guys are into it. 🤘🏼
You and your friends have created a timely and impassioned version of "War Pigs." At its heart, the song is a cry for peace. 🕊
Definitely keep digging into these Puddles. This is a butter zone for ya.
Uh yea this is fuckin epic
Se le agradece, Saludos!!!😽😽😽😽
Yes, yes, yes more Sabbath
We have missed our Puddles. The song is just as relevant now more than ever.Peace to all of you out there.
But here we are 50 years later still kicking on despite all of the predictions of doom.
Spooky. Fits the times.
@@deanpd3402 I know many that are not here. Just because you haven't been touched by war doesn't mean that the prediction is wrong.
There is no small war for those sent into fire.
@@deanpd3402 Democrats love to start wars.
I love puddles ❤️
As a "child" of the original version - it captured the rage I felt during the late 60's and 70's. Now as an "old man", the rendition is a terrific lament underscoring the continued reality of the wars we (and others) continue to fight today. There is a time for war (even today) and a time for peace, but it feels that in the world today, those who control our fate do not appreciate the difference.
Yes. Indeed... War Pigs is timeless. It's mind blowing to me that you have to remind kids this isn't original.
That would be Klaus Scwaub and the World Economic Forum.
When I was adolescent and teen during 60s and 70s My friend's and I were keenly aware of the threat of nuclear war and talked about it often...I remember the unsurty and insecurity we felt..That song was our voice then...The way you express it is spot on ...
Thank you for keeping it❣️👍👍 real❣️👍👍
@@roxannareeder9104Vietnam war images were on TV every night. It was quite immersive and shocking as a kid growing up then with the spectre of being drafted straight out of school to be thrown into the human sacrifice machine. I remember when Oz pulled out and cancelled the draft...a happy day of relief in high school.

I am 56 and have been listening to this for, well, forever. If you told me years ago, that I would see a video of clown at a piano playing this song? I would not have believed you.
And being brilliant at it.
As a Sabbath fan since 1969 and an old musician that has covered many of their songs, I’m amazed at how you managed to retain the heavy foreboding feel of this. I never would have thought this possible, but what a great rendition, you’ve done Sabbath and yourself proud. 👍 Well done.
Agreed. Ive been playing the same banged up old Strat for 34 years so yeah. I get that exactly This is F'n brilliant stuff.
I ripped the ass out of this one
no joke, he got this exacly correct, I am amazed.
Masterful 🙏
hey m8 jeez are that old
The original version has spoke to me since 1970. This beautiful rendition leaves me with a smile and appreciation for your art. The message is still there, yelling from a different window. Wonderful work.
it makes me sad every time i hear the war pigs lyrics and not the walpurgis lyrics.
Well put, so ditto, and thank you.
Yelling from a different window...
You sir are a wordsmith, bravo
Has a strange feeling, reminds me of something from the soundtrack of PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE.
Goosebumps and tears. I've heard the original hundreds of times, but this version hits me like a bullet. Absolutely world class
Facts
this is probably the best arrangement for war pigs i ever heard. its even darker than the original.
Times are short and most undoubtedly perilous….❤ Love your work, Brotherman
Indubitably!
What Puddles does so well is bring out the greatness of the original composition.
Also I learn what lyrics I've been getting wrong lol
These are some of the most brilliant performances I have ever witnessed. The man brings me tears. As a musician for over 60 years. He gives me hope. Thank You Puddles. I will never forget.
Puddles playing Black Sabbath's War Pigs on a piano. If you watched his performance you should see the passion in his eyes and in every part of his body including his perfect pitch voice. Every new video Puddles releases is truly a treat.
As a kid I never understood the depth of this song. After joining the Army and experiencing Afghanistan it hits completely different. Wonderful cover and amazing job.
Thank you for your service brother! Happy Veterans Day.
I feel ya brother. That's why they get us when we are young. I don't regret my service. I just wish we were not taking advantage of.
Thank you for your service, brother.
I feel the same for similar reasons perhaps, Iraq though. A lot of songs sound different now.
When the rich are in power ,the poor die!
Puddles! You're back, finally🖤
He Just went on a vacation.
From one joker to one sad clown. That was beautiful.
My awe of Ozzy's penmanship, the message, the poetry, the power - I never understood the degree at which this song rested in the lyrical rock songs of the greats...and now that I can understand the words - ohh...my...lanta....
I've already replied to this, but I keep coming back to this song, and I am still so thankful that Puddles and crew covered this song - and TOTALLY made it into another creation!
The credit goes to Geezer Butler not Ozzy.
geezer wrote some of the lyrics we know and love too.
Geezer wrote most the lyrics. Ozzy was.........well..he was Ozzy!
The original lyrics (Butler) were extremely Satanic. Warpurgis was the original song, same beat and notes just different lyrics. There are UA-cam videos of Sabbath singing the other version if you look for it
Now THIS is different! Totally unexpected, and a wonderful job by Puddles... softening the song but maintaining the drama. Puddles, you took a chance on this one, and it paid off. Great work!
Heavy. You really honored the original with your singing, and your own spin to the rest. Love live Ozzy, and the original Black Sabbath.
*_"Love live Ozzy, and the original Black Sabbath."_*
The One and Only.
{:o:O:}
Dio < ozzy
That howling wind and then…THE soul-deep piercing look….. absolute perfection!
The look of discussed on his face at the end speaks volume.
This song is just as relevant today as when Ozzy first sang it.
Nothing EVER changes.
Let's discuss the disgust because it can change if we want it to. We have a choice.
This is my favorite Black Sabbath song. But you manage to turn it into something poignant and tragic.
Well done sir.
It always was so..
@@CreatingChaos Mmm. I find Ozzy sings it with a sinister glee rather than the resigned sadness of Puddles version.

HOLY CRAP!!! As a musician, I LOVE the chord choices and the arrangement. I've seen Puddles Pity Party many times, and have enjoyed it. I've always liked the song, which is what drove me to this video. But I was not expecting how great this sounded. Puddles, you KILLED it. Great job.
I'm a pure metalhead. Been that way since I discovered it when 16 years old and I'll never change, because it uplifts me. With that said, this gave me goosebumps.
Puddles consistently does these covers better than the originals.
The piano work on this is absolutely stunning!
he does not seem to actually be playing
@@stephenmathes1 The description agrees with you. Interesting that they chose to shoot the music video pretending he was playing the piano, when in actuality he's the one playing the guitar in the song.
@@anonymousaccordionist3326 If you know the works of Puddles, then you know that he's almost never actually playing the instruments in the videos. It's part of his act. He's never done this particular thing before, but to me, for this particular piece, it was a lot more interesting than having him stand at a mic.
@@victoriabaker4400Yes..It is a cool visual., He does play piano & guitar.
I don't care about the name, the act, the makeup. What I care about is how amazing you are, you find a way to take classic songs and make it your own but also make it more articulate so we the audience know the lyrics, bravo! You are truly a class act and kudos to the producer for bringing it out. That's not to say you need it I know for good fact you can nail the performance live too! Once again thank you Puddles!

This is the best version of this song I've heard!
This rendering extrapolates how powerful this song is in any format when performed. Conversely, this particular treatment of it is exceptionally profound and striking. The change in original key signature enhances the songs original intensity and feel. Those lyrics still bite fierce and relevant 52 years after its initial release...
Yeah, what KC said!
Hey Bru, you also have a great ear and have great taste in this genre of music. I like the way you analyze and pay great attention to detail. KIF Bru.
It isn't a change in key at all. It's a shift from natural minor to melodic minor.
🎯
@@mobsiesixsixsix9785 Thanks for correcting me. It does nearly sound a full key sig change.
Puddles has pulled a musical orb from the past, dusted it off and reshaped it. Still dark and intense but with such musical clarity. He never disappoints.
Well said!
Good to see how much love people still have for Sabbath.
When you listen to a song for four minutes before you realize you're holding your breath.
This is a VERY special work of art. Thanks for sharing it.
This man has some serious talent. Can’t figure out for the life of me why is not more famous than what he is. I don’t care if he only covers songs because he gives them all a whole new sound, and makes each his own.
Other than Weird Al, can you name anyone famous for cover work?
@@audreymuzingo933
Actually, numerous big-name artists do cover versions all the time. It all comes down to how it is presented.
Whitney Houston as an example never wrote any of her hits and one of her biggest hits ever "I will always love you" is a cover of a song written and originally performed by Dolly Parton.
As a second example, Adele did the song "Hiding my Heart Away" which is a cover of a song originally on a Brandi Carlile album but written by a different individual.
Adele and Whitney were already megastars and got away with not mentioning who did the original song while lesser-known artists will get attacked for it (or not having the money to fix the problem).
@@Music4MyBrain Of course, but that's not what I meant. I was talking about any famous artists who do ONLY covers. I thought that was obvious, as I mentioned Weird Al.
The OP can't understand why this Puddles isn't more famous. I'm asserting that no matter how good a cover act is, they're not going to get famous if they don't write any of their own songs. And even Weird Al doesn't cover songs 'straight'; he changes the lyrics to make the songs humorous.
@@audreymuzingo933 To be fair, Weird Al does parodies more than covers. Off the top of my head I can think of only one relatively known band specializing in covers, and that is Novelle Vague. However there's a few cover songs that have become way more well known than the original, like Soft Cell's version of Gloria Jones's Tainted Love, Gary Jules's cover of Tear for Fear's Mad World, or Johhny Cage's cover of NIN's Hurt.
@@audreymuzingo933 Everyone who doesn't write their own music does covers which is the giant majority of singers/bands. And numerous of them have become rich and famous without writing any songs. The difference is the money. Some of them do get their own songs when a music company is behind them but their music still wasn't written by them in this case either (winners of x-factor, the voice, etc. as an example)
Puddles is as talented or more talented than the giant majority of them.
Some times you don't realize how good a song actually is until you change the genre.
You didn't get it until hearing this version?
Music is awesome
Totally agree chuck. I am much more effected by this rendition. To the bone
Both versions are excellent. Even if you don't like a genre, you should still be able to recognize when a song is actually good.
actual clown comment you made there
I was expecting a spoof on this song but, boy, was I wrong! This is (dare I say it) beautiful. The slight change in the vocal melody makes the song as mournful as it deserves to be given the lyrics.
Outstanding! Way to go.
The way you break down classic songs down to their skeleton and show us a different angle is just FUCKING SUPERB.
I Love this So much.
Only found Puddles last week cant believe it. What a great original performer he is and an abundance of talent. Unique his rendition of Heaven is the best Ive heard.
Welcome to the Pity Party.

@@Kay_The_Coffee_Weirdo Unfortunately Im unlucky enough to be in the UK so doubt he will be over here but would love to see him live. Will have a look anyhow thanks, He doesnt sing a song he tells a story love it.
Excellent live! Definitely see a show when you can!
Saw him in Seattle a few years ago, in a probably 500 seat venue. This giant beautiful clown went around and shook hands and greeted every single audience member before he began the show.
This is breath taking, been a Sabbath boy all my days, and this has to be one of thee best versions of War Pigs I've ever heard, magnificent.
I must play Sabbath's War Pigs on occasion. One of the most powerful songs for peace that us mere plebs can use as a reminder of what power pushes in our name. And with our hands and faces.
No other rendition of this song has ever felt like a worthy cover.
Before now.
Thank you mysterious clown.
i agree this version is epic+. really does it justice. but....when you say NO OTHER rendition was worthy...i can't h elp but wonder if you are familiar with Faith No More's version?
before this, i was convinced no other version was worthy lol...now im of the opinion while very different...both are equally worthy.
Sometimes a change in genre on one song can make you fall in love with the writing all over again. It’s a beautiful song, hands down, every time, no matter who plays it. This is a phenomenal performance!!!!!
Try the acoustic versions of Ace Of Spades - Motörhead , great blues song
This took my breath away by the end, that prolonged look into the camera was everything. WOW. This is like seeing Puddles for the first time again.
It IS my first time seeing him. WTF am I seeing? Why the clown outfit? What's his deal?
@@audreymuzingo933 You can't explain how someone chooses to express their art. As l said in an earlier post there isn't much point in trying to understand Puddles' art and why he presents it in the manner that he does. I have my own internal meaning that I get from it, and perhaps that is his intention.
@@geoffreylogsdon162 So he hasn't explained it in some other video?

I agree. This is in the same ballpark as "Hurt" by Cash. I will never be able to listen to the original now without hearing this in my mind as well.

This is by far one of, if not the best, interpretation of a song I've seen so far, absolutely brilliant, even Ozzy himself would have to agree, imo.
There's something about hearing this song as a piano arrangement that gives it an entire new dimension. Thank you for providing it! 👍❤️👍
Damn. So awesome. We love you Puddles.
I’ve listened to this song countless times in my misguided youth. But, like re-reading the Bible, every time different meanings are exposed to our consciousness. This rendition has done this for me and it makes me sad that we’re stuck following these unworthy “War Pigs” leaders.
I hope all is good with Puddles and am thankful for him sharing his incredible talent. Thank you again for putting yourself out there for scrutiny to bring your message to me and others.

Timely song choice, Puddles. Beautifully powerful.
I will admit to some trepidation upon seeing the cover song... there are some things that are best as they are.... but this.... THIS is a worthy cover! The brooding bombastic power was there, the howling lament was spot on, the whole arrangement fit well together and truly paid tribute with a unique twist to a timeless song... This was should be covered far and beyond, as others have amazingly and respectfully covered.
Agree, I LOVE Puddles, but this song is almost sacrosanct in the annals of rock and I admit I cringed...Until I watched it, of course, Puddles again brings a masterful interpretation to a beloved song that is its equal in many ways and exceeds it in others.

I do a lot of research and sourcing for a group of war journalists and as a result I am neck deep in the human tragedy in Ukraine right now. This was just absolutely so far beyond powerful for me. I'm a huge Sabbath fan as is and this cover really drives home the message of this song. I can't really say much more than that. It moved me deeply, to tears, especially your face at the end. The embodiment of stepping back, looking at humanity from the outside and wondering what the hell we are doing.
After doing the research, I stand AGAINST Ukraine's government. I stand with the people of Ukraine AND Russia. I'm deeply saddened by their suffering at the hands of the globalist war machine.
