I love the darkmoon greatsword BUT late game I switched over to the royal greatsword (blaidd's sword). The damage while darkmoon is buffed is comparable and the darkmoon weapon art is amazing with the range but the royal greatsword has a longer reach, swings pretty fast, does more poise damage and, most importantly, I like the move set more. Plus it has a pretty sweet weapon art of its own with a jump that can dodge to a stab and then aoe frost attack.
@@SomeAssh0le Very true Colossal weapons are always gonna do more poise damage. Plus you can stun lock enemies more easily with your normal attacks. There are some enemies that can tank the moonlight's attacks that will get stunned by the royal.

I really like this build, its damn near perfect for an Intelligence + Sword & Board build. Glintstone Stars or Star Shower with Shard Spiral are also quite good for rolly-polly enemies in PVP, and since the Dark Moon Greatsword technically is an ice-based weapon, having the Snow Witch Hat equipped and catching pvp players trying to rush you with Zamor Icestorm could also be viable and increase the damage by 10% :D Overall really great, love the idea of using the Jellyfish Shield to further buff damage!

I just came back to ER to get ready for the DLC and i'll add one thing: i used the Staff of Loss and I'm only use night comet and Terra Magica. The sword and board approach will deal with 90% of whatever you are fighting so Night comet is only for ranged fighting. Because the sword is so powerful i ended up using that for most boss fights too and comet azure wasn't needed. I also use the talisman that restores life instead of FP so i can replenish HP without relying on a flask. Just an extra idea for anyone who doesn't like the FP cost of Lusat's staff and doesn't want to lose and DPS. (The staff of loss actually makes night comet hit harder than if you use Lusat's too)
Great build, what do you think about changing ritual sword & ash for magic scorpion charm and great jar for better dmg overall and more def - if the point is to present a S tier build?

I'm considering respecing my character to use my cool new sword. I'm currently running a strength/arcane grave scythe, bloodflame blade build. It's good, but it's getting kind of boring.
With twinsage + radagon sorseal you can hold this weapon by level 25 just by putting 3 points into str and 16 into int on astrologer, from then on you get vit to 35, 40 with the seal, and suddenly you have a fully powered DMGS build at level 51, with ritual sword, magic scorpion, and godfrey icon you're doing 2k damage + with a level 7 weapon assuming you'll be heading into mountaintops of the giants at this level range. No need to put points in mind, with just 2 blue flasks DMGS has enough moon lasers to get you through any zone. This dude is overlevelled as fuck, I recommend putting 5 more points into str and vit so you can get rid of radagon soreseal and replace it with alex shard, and then get 20 more vig for 60 hardcap and you're now level 81 and your build is done. You don't need endurance because you're gonna be wearing the spellsword armor set, which gives 2% increased damage per piece to glintstone weapon skills, which DMGS is one of. You can put some more points into int so you can wear the spellsword hat instead of twinsage if you want, but either way I recommend stopping the build here and not upgrading any weapon past +17 / +7 for optimal lategame but not endgame invasions where a charged darkmoon R2 will oneshot most people. You don't really need to put more points into int since nothing a sorcery can do is going to compete with DMGS, and if you were to go to level 125 I would recommend endurance for heavier armor for poise so you can trade with people. Roll catching with a greatsword can be tricky so make sure to always have carian slicer ready for that. Jelly shield isn't a bad idea but I hate the way it looks so I use a dagger with golden vow ash of war instead and this saves 4 points of strength and 2 dex. Magic damage + 10 int flask will also give you 180 seconds of an insane damage boost, and when you can use terra magicka effectively it will drastically increase the damage even further, I've seen hits for upwards of 6k with all of these things combined, on a level 81 build, not to mention these charged R2s will stagger most bosses in 2 to 3 hits from range. If you ever had trouble with godskin duo, put em both to sleep and buff up and you can do 2 R2's to half kill one, stagger it, frontstab, then another R2 will kill it before it even has time to move.
Not really. If you played a few souls games then you will realize that armor in these games is mostly for fashion. There is some Armor like lets say raptors blackfeathers that increases your jumpattacks but that doenst really matter. Also the stats on the left side, so your damage resistence stats are pretty much useless, and it doesnt matter if you use a heavy knight set, or a lighter armor. The only thing that somewhat matters are the resistence stats on the right side, so your immunity, focus and so on. But that is also minimal. So at the end of the day, just use whatever amor looks best to you

Anyway I started with a confessor for the rogue like effects but I don't know where to go from here. Do I need faith? I do want all of those moon, glintstone star/comet, and gravity spells.
