This is LITERALLY the best Edison Format video on UA-cam period. Great editing, Clear and to the point, Great short match showcasing only the play examples instead of intire matches. 10/10 Awesome Job!
this is sooooo helpful thank you so much i have a group of friends i play an edison format draft with. Some of them feel overwhelmed by the amount of playable decks and can't decide what to play. This video is perfect it has short and easy to comprehend explanations of what the decks are trying to do and even gameplay examples. 10/10 🔥
Thanks! my goal was to provide a resource for people to help show their friends what the format is like. I know it was a lot for me to absorb when I was first starting.
As a long lapsed YuGiOh player, it was very fun to see these old decks spotlighted, really great job on explaining them and loved the example plays, makes it much easier to visualize what is happening. Gonna need to look into this Edison format thing!
I just found this channel, I’m replaying Yugioh WC 2010 and realized just how much I enjoyed the format as opposed to the modern format. I stoped actively playing (both casually and competitively) after 2014, but Edison format is something I’m definitely interested in looking more into, a decision I made mainly after binging all of your videos. I had the most fun with Yu-Gi-Oh in the late 200s-2010, and assumed that the format was gone after Xyzs, Pendulums, and Links hit the game. So, with all that being said, I can tell how much work is put into these videos and plan on supporting the channel moving forward. Thank you for bringing me back to the game and thank you for all of your quality videos. I wish you the best!
I just got into Edison recently this video helped a lot !!!! I watched it about 20 times already 😅 would love more videos on how to play and rulings thank you
Wow.... I just started getting into the Edison format and stopped playing Yu-Gi-Oh back when synchros were introduced, so you can imagine the learning curve. I was so lost watching other videos of deck reviews and playing games because there were so many "staple" cards in decks that no one explained. This video single handedly helped me piece all of that info together and now I understand WHY those cards are used because of the type of deck ideas displayed so well in this video. So well done and I truly thank you @CrowsNestRetroYGO
I originally got into playing yuigoh properly (after playing as a kid but then stopping fora few years in my teens) around this time. Makes me so nostalgic and I'm so glad this format is gaining traction.
One thing worth noting is that Gottoms can be summoned using three copies of Airbellum, or just three copies of the same tuner, because it doesn't say Non-Tuner in the materials, only that they need to be Earth monsters. I don't know if this ruling still applies today, but I know for sure that it applied during the era that Edison Format emulates. I like teching Gottoms into Karakuri decks for this reason as you can summon and machine dupe Nishipachi or Ninishi and then sync them into Gottoms.
@@smartybabytv5547 i played this game casually from like duelist kingdom until 5ds as a child. I didnt know a single things about formats or what cards were good, just that dark armed was cool looking and hard to summon. Only recently started being interested in the game again and was excited to see dark armed exists and is good.
I didn't get around to watching this video until now, but the quality is insanely high. The video examples are extremely helpful. Great idea to help newer players decide on decks! My biggest question though, is how you convinced Cameron to let you play out all the examples. The most shocking thing to me about the entire video is that he didn't just immediately scoop.
@Crows Nest - Retro Yu-Gi-Oh Your welcome, i would love some decklists if possible, i am getting in the Edison Format since that is when i use to play back in high school.
@@pooolish334 I’ll keep that in mind. For now though, there’s this video where my teammate Karpath and I go over some decklists from the tournament that we hosted. ua-cam.com/video/HY7D5StDuTo/v-deo.html
I think most of the decks I featured in this video are pretty "standard." You should be able to find something close to the ones I used by scrolling through the deck types on EdisonFormat.com
Sorry it took me so long to see this. My teammates have played around with ritual fairies, since manju and senju already synergize with Kristya. And there’s also a Quickdraw Relinquished deck that’s pretty neat. Dark Gaia decks that are geared toward an OTK style will also sometimes run rituals with contract with the abyss. None of these decks have seen meta relevance yet, but I think of the 3, ritual fairies might be the strongest.
I used to sort cards on duelingbook by release date but there’s a few more things you can do. You could search the cards using the card pool feature on EdisonFormat.com or if you have EDOpro, you can download the Edison banlist file, and EDOpro will filter the cards for you. So you can build a deck inside EDOpro and then you can import that deck file into duelingbook. The Edison banlist file for EDOpro can be found in the EdisonFormat.com discord. If you have trouble finding it, you can @ me (Snack) in there. Hope this helped!
On the dragon turbo section, why did you activate the super rejuvenation in ur hand then drew immediately then did the same with the one u drew??? The card says you draw during the end phase of the turn 🤨
Quick Correction: Ryko's mill is NOT cost. It's the effect.
The parts where you show the deck running are amazingly good, very informative for new players, makes this vídeo a 10/10
thank you! When I had the idea of showing gameplay for examples I was confident that it would be helpful for people

Loved this video and great idea showing replays for every deck. BASED

Great video detailing the archetypes of the Edison format. Definitely going with Blackwings.

definitely tempted to play edison just because of this video. had no idea i could play a format where dark armed dragon is actually good
It’s probably the best monster in the entire format. SCARY when it hits the field

a very much well produced and helpful intro to Edison's Decks, tyvm!
Thanks for the kind words!
Love the vid and would definitely watch a second vid, also subscribed!
Truly appreciate this video!
Great video. I still don't know what deck I want to try first but this definitely gives me a good idea of how they play now.
Commenting to say this video is great. Thanks for putting out such quality content
Thank you! We’re gonna try to keep it up.
Good video. I got back into the game during Edison it's kind of how I learned to play again.
I love that!
This video succeeded in making me want to build almost every deck listed, haha! Very informative and helpful video, thank you!
You’re welcome! I’ve got pretty much all of them built in paper myself. Still missing the dragon cards.
Excellent video. Thank you so much 🥳
Very good video! Please do more!
I loved the vid, I´m usually not a fan of retro formats but this video was able to make me wanna play this, good job!

Nice in depth video. A lot of inforrmation.
amazing video! did you share your deck lists?
I didn't. the Decklists I featured were mostly standard though. You can find sample lists on Edisonformat.com, EdisonFormat.net, or FormatLibrary.com

Very informative. Thanks.

Dang booking your own armed wing, and then sacing Grepher for Sirocco would have been JUICY
Yeah! Since the backrow was fake and their monster only had 300 DEF it would’ve been lethal. Nice catch.
The Skyscraper read on gorz was actually next level 😭
Thanks a lot for this video !

Best Yugioh format
Amazing video
Thank you so much!
Great content, really.
Thanks! I try
Great video. Unfortunate that gadget didn’t make the cut. My favorite Edison deck to play despite Cyber dragon.
Lmfaoo armory arm OTK was ridiculous. I miss QuickDraw plants and all it’s shenanigans

It's actually a few songs from a group of copyright-free tracks made by Harris Heller or "Stream Beats"
is there any rituals decks that are good in edison? i am a fan of rituals, specially the demise and ruin ones, i love those cards

Is there any way we can get a deck list on dragon turbo?

Would crystal beast be viable in this format?
Unfortunately no. There's a way that you can draw through your entire deck using rainbow ruins and brionac though.
I freaking love your voice :D
On the dragon turbo section, why did you activate the super rejuvenation in ur hand then drew immediately then did the same with the one u drew??? The card says you draw during the end phase of the turn 🤨
They're quick play spells, so if you draw them in the end phase, you still have time to activate and resolve them on that turn.
No disaster dragon?
That could definitely be a deck that gets showcased in a second installment
wow who is that beautiful voiced narrator 😍
