Oh thank you! Im so glad you are going to make one too 🌸
Hello Emma, I just wanted to thank you for sharing your beautiful sewing skills on UA-cam. I have never made a quilt before but have always admired them at craft shows and have always thought that I would never be able to make one as they looked too complicated, but you have shown me that it really is possible! I had never heard of hexagon quilting or EPP until this week when I did a Google Image search on a 1” piece of hexagon cardboard hand tacked into some fabric that I found in some personal craft items of my niece who sadly passed away in 2016. I had always wondered what these 5 little fabric covered hexagons were to be used for. Hence, as I mentioned, this week I did a Google Image search and up popped hexagon quilting! I then went onto UA-cam and searched hexagon quilting for beginners and up popped your video “Quilt as you go, hexagon quilt tutorial” from 8 months ago! I was so excited to watch your video and to see how easy it can be with some practice. I have already made 18 hexagons this week with my scrap fabric towards a small child’s quilt and I will be incorporating my niece’s 5 little hexagon shapes into it as those little shapes mean so much to me. So, once again, thank you so much. I now have a new hobby (I usually hand sew vintage mohair bears) and I’ve been binge watching and really enjoying your videos whilst sewing my little hexagons! Much love from Australia (but I’m actually from London, UK) and by the way, my niece lived in Scarborough, N.Yorkshire and was a Teaching Assistant in an art department and was very creative and artistic. Sorry this comment is so long! 💐
Hi! Thank you so much for watching my videos and for this lovely comment. This really touched my heart. I am so so sorry for the loss of your niece. I can feel how important those hexagons are to you, and what a lovely way to remember her and honour her by putting them on your quilt. Thank you so much for telling me this story, I’m so glad you’ve started your quilt and I hope you get many hours of peaceful and enjoyable stitching time making it 🌸
@@emmajonesvintagesewingbox Thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely reply, Emma. I’ve been out to my local sewing shop today and have bought a Sewline glue pen (yay!) and some pretty fat quarters and I also went to a charity shop and bought some really pretty children’s’ dresses to chop up (as you suggested in your latest video on quilting on a budget to re-purpose old clothes). It’s a shame to ruin them but they were only 2 dollars each (less than £1). I’m now busy sewing away and I agree, it’s so relaxing! Have a lovely week and stay well 💐
Your video is just wonderful. I enoyed watching it and will try to make one. Thanks again, Cheryl. ❤

Emma I just adore your videos. I actually made your hexagon needle book in January and added a pocket to the inside in the same manner that you are showing in this tutorial. It is handy to hold my little cohana scissors. Thank you again for the great tutorials. All the best to you.

I love it!!! It is beautiful and very decorative for a sewing room wall! I would love to make one, but larger. Thank you for the great idea and tutorial!!
Thank you! A larger one would be so fun! Will you use larger hexagons or just add more hexagons do you think?
@@emmajonesvintagesewingbox I think I might just add more hexies. I'm still trying f to figure out what fabrics I want to use.
