I've found a red streamer out back simulating a blood trail makes a big difference. Also they seem to prefer topwater right at dusk. Gary Yamamoto has a couple larger lures that I've found very effective. Also brownish frog pattern. Throw it up high and right at the edge of some trashy seaweed - let it plop down nice and loud to get their attention. Wait 3 seconds then give it one big jerk and hang on. Nothing like that topwater action! Great video.
I'm not a native speaker, but this accent is funny though is very pleasing to hear! Thanks for the tips..I'll use that fishing peackock bass in my country!
I don’t know. So far, poppers are the only lure that’s worked for me. I’ve never caught anything with crankbaits, minnows, or pencils. But even with poppers, my success rate is still pretty low. Now I’m starting to wonder if something’s off with my tackle setup. I’m using an Abu Garcia Vengeance with a fast action and throwing lures like a 5cm minnow, 6.5-7cm popper, and pencils at 7cm and 11cm. Do you have any advice?
Try it at first light and dusk. Those will be the best times. Later in the day shaded areas are still good. Also if you see fish busting bait at the surface throw it right at them and make it noisy.
Good lawd I've been using heavy rods with poppers all this time and he's right...the wrist gets sore with all the heavy wrist action. It looks effortless on a light rod!
I do if the water has a stain to it. If i need ill tie on a mono leader in those clearer spots never had a issue with leader break offs with poppers or ploppers just make sure your knot is proper
Hi sir, the back of my popper treble hook was damaged, so I decide to change it, the thing is normally popper has feathers at the back hook, if I change it, does it affect the performance?
Absolutely. The best test of rod action is just getting out there and feeling if it's right for you and the application - but based on your rod action, it should fit the bill.
Thank you so much!! Simple advice and finally someone actually SHOWS how a popper should be used!
This video is a perfect morsel of knowledge. I could listen to this man talk about fishing all day and it would be worth it. 👍🏽
Denny is a legend. And one of my favorite pros.

Great pointers. So many times (just happened 2 days ago) it's a bit slow and you get a phone call while your popper's just sitting out there... Bam.
Nothing like that top water action! Great 👍 tips! Love it!

Great tip. I still haven't caught a fish on a popper, ill keep these tips in mind.

Hey man! Can I use a braided line with a popper lure?
I do if the water has a stain to it. If i need ill tie on a mono leader in those clearer spots never had a issue with leader break offs with poppers or ploppers just make sure your knot is proper
Great video thank you so much
Good video casting popper 🖒
Love a popper !!!! Thanks for this video
Great tips I guess there were no fish caught during this video!
3:04 there a fish that you woke up with your bait just not the big one to commit. ive still never got a top water largemouth..
Up in the northeast, the popper is one of the best early and late season lures for largemouth!
Hi sir, the back of my popper treble hook was damaged, so I decide to change it, the thing is normally popper has feathers at the back hook, if I change it, does it affect the performance?
Hi Mel, changing the back treble hook with a feathered or non-featured treble hook shouldn't impact bait action all that much.
@@Wired2Fish Alright sir, thank you for the tips 😁😁😁
I gotta fish a stiff rod here. Got 50lb pike that eat topwaters. No light rod will work for that (yes you can do it but not daily)
Great stuff thank you for that
You're welcome Wil. We appreciate you tuning in.
Is that a slx dc150?
Nvm lol
Great tips 👍🎣🎣🎣
There stuff in the water and its good to fish by it because thats the way fish are
I put the video in my other liked videos!
So would a medium moderate 7ft baitcasting rod be okay for this?
Absolutely. The best test of rod action is just getting out there and feeling if it's right for you and the application - but based on your rod action, it should fit the bill.
Yeah so have you ever caught a bass on that popper?
The first time a 3-4 pounder hits it, the little furry tail on the back gets destroyed.
I love my booyah boss pop!
NICE
👌👍
👍👍
U throw some veggies in their and some fish. You got yourself a stew brother.
Ugh God I wish people sponsored me to fish 😂😂
അടിപൊളിയാ

A Lot of BS
A video about top water success yet not one fish was caught throughout the video....🤔
The only true poppers are fly fishing poppers !
That only applies when you're fishing for bass food! Lol
