I think Especial is THE BEST beer in that "Macro Lager" Pilsner category. I really appreciate what the team at Modello does.

Nice review guys. I'm an Aussie who lives in the US who really misses the cheap lagers we get back home in Australia, I'm not a fan of the cheap lagers in the US like Budweiser, Corona, Coors or Miller, they just taste way too watery for me. I decided to pick up a 6 pack of Modelo today and I'm so glad I did, it reminds me so much of the cheap lagers we get in Australia, it has that nice bitter beery taste and it's not watery at all. This is gonna be my go to beer now if I'm not drinking crafts.

I must say after having this again, it is probably my favorite adjunct lager. It had more hop bitterness than any AAL I've had and more than a fair amount of Eurolagers, and is quite dry.
I would probably agree with preferring the Negra if given the choice between the two, but within the styles, I would rate this near the very top as an adjunct lager, whereas I think the Negra compares less favorably to beers in the Munich Dunkel style. Not that the Negra is of poor quality, but seems a bit dull to me due to the adjuncts compared to the German Reinheitsgebot beers, despite being quite a higher abv. I would say is hardly a knock on a beer if the worst you have to say about it is isn't as good as the German produced examples.
I agree with what you're saying, here, and I drank two Modelo Negra's just yesterday, by the way.

Easy drinkability beer but it always lacks on flavor to me that’s why I prefer it dressed other than that overall a great beer! Keep your reviews coming

The famous Mexican beer "Corona Extra" originated in Puerto Rico as "Corona" (which rights were later sold to Cervecería Modelo de México and it was re-launched as Corona Extra). Photo shows the "4th of July Grocery Store" in Camuy, Puerto Rico.
