You're gonna HATE this story Dragon man, but it's unfortunately true... Also unfortunate for me, I found out about all of this after IT HAD ALREADY TRANSPIRED!
My dentists neighbor's dad was one of the first US Infantrymen inside Berlin at the end of the war. He made it all the way from D Day to Berlin, God bless him... Anyway, as most soldiers did, he collected war souvenirs along the route. He had a P-38 and a Luger Pistol, a couple officers swords, many officers daggers as well as bayonets, hats, and small articles like Nazi/SS insignias, etc.... But his prize possession was a very large Nazi flag which it was told, was taken down off a very prominent Nazi building in Berlin.
Well, as old veterans do, he died about a decade ago and of course, all of his possession were now that of his children (his son being my dentist's neighbor).
Well, being fairly wealthy "professionals" and completely "politically correct" modern yuppies, they couldn't dare be caught with such items in their possession! I mean, WHAT WOULD PEOPLE THINK OF THEM IF THEY FOUND OUT! So, what did they do? They took the pistols, daggers and swords to the local police department and turned them in. Then, they took the small items, novelties and even that large Nazi Flag that their father most proudly possessed to document all the turmoil he survived during the war, AND THEY THREW IT ALL IN THE GARBAGE!!! I almost threw up when I heard that.
Not only is it a disrespect for the historical significance of those items, it was a COMPLETE DISRESPECT FOR THEIR OWN DAD, A VETERAN, AND PART OF THE GREATEST GENERATION THIS COUNTRY HAS YET TO SEE! People, ignoring history or trying to hide from it, doesn't make it go away...
What fools, especially since there is a very large Holocaust museum only about 10 miles away from where they live. I'm sure they would have welcomed such significant artifacts from the war, much more so than THE GARBAGE MAN!

@@gazzaplayz1233 Yea, I know... The legacy part is the worst part of it.
My own dad is a Pacific theatre WW II vet, and I couldn't even THINK about throwing away something like that, especially considering how long he kept it as a valuable part of his life. The PC/yuppie asshole might as well go take a dump on his dad's grave after doing something that stoopid.

That’s so sad the thing is maybe if you still saw these items as hateful or whatever just sell them then donate the proceeds to a charity in relation to the holocaust. That’d be the REAL right thing to do. It’s so sad how these gun buy backs destroy history. One day I’d love to sit outside a police station the day they’re doing this and offer to buy the weapons for double of their $100 Amazon gift card.

this is a amazing collection. i just bought a 16 foot nazi flag from a museum. i dont even know where to hang it. my grandparents were polish and were in a camp in the war. i dont have a big german collection but i have alot of polish stuff from after the war when they were in a dp camp. lots of documents with german writing. i always get angry when people who arent jewish or polish get upset about nazi things because they have no reason to if me myself my family has been impacted by hitler and it doesnt bother me much so why should it bother others. i love fashion, engineering and art and to say the germans didnt master all of that would be a lie. im always amazed how far ahead of their time they were. if they wouldnt of started the holocaust and so many wars they would of dominated the industry in everything.

@@mihaiflorea86 ghettysburg in PA. they sell alot of ww2 stuff but it goes fast. i believe the only reason i got it is because it was over christmas break when people were busy. i was searching the site daily at that time for flags and knives. so i had bought it as soon as it was posted. the museum is small and ran by one man who verifies its a official item. i will say though he made a rookie mistake on mine, mine is not a banner. mine is a aerial flag. the kind draped over vehicles so they would not be bombed. i also have a dark colored stain on mine. when asking the museum if he had a idea what it was he said he didnt know. i believe it is some sort of oil stain or fluid from the vehicle it was on. as a regular flag banner it didnt make sense but as a aerial flag it makes sense.

Bro this collection is very impressive but just that its not kept behind glass nor in a weathered sealed room to be kept in prosperity you should really sell this to washington dc especially the dept of defense sp they can have a museum a proper museum for all the soldiers to see old weaponry and equiptment because around the world some countrys still use this really old stuff . i mean you got stuff on the floor and all over the place so basically you have close to 50 mil- 100 mil worth of stuff just lying around not really opened to the public but on a sunday. you know what iam saying this is perfect for proper education a whole building would be constructed just for this collected not a warehouse barn. what happenes when you pass on your children are going to maintain such a vast collection? all that gear needs to be cleaned periodically with agents to maintain them. then your touching stuff with your bare hands further getting human oils and sweat on it even if you wash your hands you should be using white gloves.

Thank goodness for real bad weather. Glad it wiped those nazis out . How long have you been collecting these nazis items? Costly or simply donated? I like those mannequins. Where are you located?
