Born and raised in woodland park Colorado, lived in the springs area 31 years of my life and damn it I never went to dragon man’s. Ima take my son when he’s old enough and we visit home. I loved the dragon bike at the parade every year
I went to Dragonmans back in 2021 and took the tour with the Dragon Man what a great day that was I would highly recommend it to any history of military enthusiast and if you can get the tour by the dragon man, he’s a class act and how many people like him around anymorehighly recommended
I’ve been to various military museums all over the world, but I have to admit this is the best I’ve ever seen genuine articles and I love. This guy’s enthusiasm it’s fantastic Well done🇬🇧🏴🇺🇸👌
Mel Bernstein (born 1945), nicknamed "Dragon Man", is the owner of Dragon Arms and a military museum in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Bernstein was born in Brooklyn, New York to a jewish family.
Good to know the Dragon Man is Jewish, I wouldn’t want to offend him if I ever visited his awesome museum. (I should have known because his name is Bernstein)It makes sense though because his collection is incredibly expensive and Jews are known for being successful individuals.
4:30 The Panzerschreck has "SA" printed in is so it means it has been in finnish military at some point, most likely bought there. Those things can still be found almost intact in lapland (fully rusted tho)
Fascinating. My city's government museum has 4 Canadian regiments. One is the Calgary Highlanders. We have a huge Scottish heritage in our highland regiments.
All this stuff is less than 100 years old. They're extremely easy to authenticate which he does before he buys them. And alot of it is from other museums
I took your tour last year, it was by far more impressive than I expected. It's impossible to absorb all the info and sights in one tour. I'm looking forward to coming back for a few more. Thank you for sharing your museum with us.
i love the dragonman and his exhibits but does does he just assume every german military artifact is part of the nazi regime? he has so many pieces in there that have to do with the german empire and not the nazi regime. im confused.
They're not called "Kaiser helmets", the correct term is Pickelhaube or plural Pickelhauben. The design originates in Prussia during the 1840s. They were used by Imperial German military up until around 1916 when they were replaced by the Stahlhelm. They were not used during the Nazi period, probably due to their Prussian origin and Hitler's hated of the Prussian military aristocracy. If you already have a WW1 exhibit, you should consider adding the Imperial German pieces there. It seems pretty sloppy to lump pre-WWII history into a so-called "Nazi room".
Very interesting collection you have there in your museum. I thought about something, you might want to separate ww1 german stuff from the ww2 german stuff. They were different regimes and different wars. Maybe add some ww1 era german flags arround the ww1 stuff.
I showed my friend this video, who was a volunteer at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, and he said, those gas canisters do not look like the ones the museum has, nor do those concentration camp outfits match what the Museum has. He said they do not match what they have at the museum, in storage and or on display. He wanted to be careful not to call them fakes, but he did said that 95% of these type of items are faked, especially the cans and uniforms. He said, their cans all look aged and handled, used, as where Dragonman's appear new, crisp, along with the very clean outfits that are not soiled, or appear worn. So that is very concerning. Maybe they are real he said.
Those cans are fakes. I wrote to his daughter showing why. Guess she deleted the email. To verify for yourself. google Zyklon B cans and then click on Images on top the search results. Look at the top and the bottom of real cans. See the wave pattern? Now look at Dragon Man cans. see the wave pattern? no wave pattern on his cans You can see this wave pattern on canned food items. Also note pristine condition of his cans
Blimey that's what I call a collection I thought I had a decent collection from WW2 but this is the mega load.. I'm form UK what part of America is this museum? I'd love to vist one day
I hope and pray that your beautiful daughter keeps the museum going forever.🙏
daughters but yes I have no doubt they will. Its part of America. Dragon man one of the best Americans in history of America.
it wont come to that....but yeah, i hear that.

How was the process for getting the appointment as well as getting into the museum? I feel like it'd be crazy high demand
I’ve been to various military museums all over the world, but I have to admit this is the best I’ve ever seen genuine articles and I love. This guy’s enthusiasm it’s fantastic Well done🇬🇧🏴🇺🇸👌

Its amazing! Cant wait to see it this year!
Went in the summer of 2020, need to go back.
I worry about the safety of having so much history in one place, if there was a fire losing so many historic objects would be an absolute disaster!
the ending with the small guys gettign beat up in bars had me dying lmao
Thank ypu for preserving history. Some of this is heart wrenching but its knowledge.
Fascinating. My city's government museum has 4 Canadian regiments. One is the Calgary Highlanders. We have a huge Scottish heritage in our highland regiments.

The history you got there is actually insane. Wish I could get to see that stuff one day but travelling would be pretty expensive
Hope I can make it out there one of these days
I wonder how much of these are counterfeit vs legit

@Bill-sj4fw it makes them easy to reproduce, he didn't tall about how he authentifies, others "museums" doesn't mean anything
