Yay!! I'm SO HAPPY that you're doing the album journey!! I'm all in. You are starting a wonderful trip. You'll get to hear (and see I hope) how LZ expanded this genre over the years. I remember when I first heard this album the month (1/1969) it was released in the US. Those first few chords from Jimmy did it!! The composition of the song showed the world a glimpse of what we'd be getting from each of the members. Jimmy has said that LZ 1 is a blueprint of what their music would be - rock, blues, funk, psychedelic, acoustic and even a little proto-punk!! I'd suggest that once you listen to the album track you also watch a filmed performance of the song, if it's available. Your LZ subscribers will definitely help you out there. You will see how they took the studio production and ran with it live. It's a whole 'nother thing that shows how great they are. There is only one filmed performance of Good Times that I know of. It's from their reunion concert in 2007and fittingly, it was the opening song of the concert. It proves that almost 40 years after they recorded it, they and the song are still FIRE. Here's the link if you're interested ua-cam.com/video/E-Xna3ny6KY/v-deo.html

There are so many good classic rock groups out there that you haven't heard yet. Try some music by YES one of the greatest progressive rock groups of all time and my favorite band. My dad has told me n my brother n sister a story very similar many times throughout our lives. My dad was born in 1961 n has 2 older brothers born 1960 n 1958. He Always tells these stories about when his brother would come home with a new album n some Thai sticks lol. Led Zeppelin 1 n I think physical graffiti r his fav zepp albums. He's like "my brother came home n put on led Zeppelin 1 n halfway thru the 1st song he was getting all his moms pots n pans from the cupboards n making a drum set on the front yard. 😂😂. With me being born in 82 I grew up only hearing what songs were played on radio n would every once in a while hear music coming from my dad's shop n I could tell it's led Zeppelin but I know I've never heard it before n it would b really really good. Just saying that a lot of the time if u didn't live thru it ur knowledge is mainly what was/is popular so u may only hear 2,3 maybe 4 song from a double album of 30 songs. I like having the old man around for a lot of reasons n his taste in music is a great reason. 1 great example. Neil Young to the average listener probably only seems to have like 2 or 3 good songs heart of gold old man n I think it's called southern man. Well my favorite is one I 1st heard about 20 years ago coming from my dad's shop n I walked closer n just stood there listening. It was Cortez the killer. Fucking love that song.

This came out when I was in grade school and while I wasn't older yet and heard most of the stuff I heard on the radio, can you just imagine the first time the world ever heard this. It's 1969 and the Beatles are huge, Elvis is Big again, there is all the racial tension, there's the Vietnam war, there's the assassinating of Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy, there's the hippie peace and love movement, folk music is still quite popular, the drug culture is gaining mainstream recognition, psychedelic influence on music and culture is starting to explode. And then you get whatever this is. Just mind blowing.

So glad you are doing this.....for both us and for yourself. You will not regret it. Susan’s idea of watching a live performance after you do the audio is a good one because their songs live were a whole other animal.....usually extended guitar solo’s and improvisation up the yin-yang. They were a beast live. Three hour concerts the norm (and often longer). The wear and tear on Robert’s voice was a given and some nights were better than others, but they always brought everything they had to the stage and left it there. I sincerely hope you don’t get blocked allot. You can fly under the radar for awhile but usually the algorithm spots you eventually with Zeppelin.......at which point start a patreon channel and we’ll go over there for Zeppelin! Soul Train Bro has done the deepest dive on Zeppelin and he’s been at it for two years......but he does have a patreon channel to fall back on. Good luck on this wonderful musical journey you are beginning!

Great way to listen to Zeppelin. Front to Back. You get to feel the growth of the band and how great they really were/are. Hot Dog! Hey Hey What Can I Do? may not show up on an album.
