You just need to change the way you eat, having smaller portions or smaller platter (bowls, plates etc.), use smaller spoons to give the illusion that you're eating a lot. It's basically eating slow and changing your mindset
Same. Here we don't have the ability to eat as healthy as asian countries and we can't easily find healthy things to eat usually and that is discouraging me at least to start a diet with fresh asian foods and without eating a sweet which is sugary. I mean you can't find a restaurant that serves fruits for desert anywhere! So that's why i wish i could live in Asia and especially japan or korea
when she mentioned fruit for desert i could only think of how asian moms normally bring a plate of chopped up fruit to your room after dinner or when you're studying
Dear Americans, For tip no. 1 she means unsweetened tea. And hot not iced tea. Whenever I go to America and ask for some herbal tea, I usually get iced tea with lots and lots of sugar, which is just as bad as soft drinks.
I appreciate this video! We in America and take some notes. People get so offended in America when anyone addresses obesity. Americans in general are way too offended. Thank you for this! 💕
My dear dad(lived well into his late 80s) ate small amount of anything he wanted when he was hungry, drank shot and a beer almost everyday. Slept 3-4 hours only BUT walked everywhere(never had a car) I grew up in the inner city. He was never really sick. Got out and talked to people everyday. He died with only enough money to bury him. He was a very simple man. Loved life! Anyway...thanks for the video. I do believe the keys to slimness is moving everyday. And eating only until full. Peace to all!❤️
I really love the way your dad had, I also have been trying to keep that way in my life, but it is not easy for me to stick that way all the time, I want to live simple life as your father, but many things make me weak.I wish I could be like your dad especially in my last time. I touched by the expression 'He died with only enough money to bury him" I thank you for your statement as something insightful hit me while reading it. It leads me to think about my obsession about money.
I lived in Japan for 1 year and Korea for 4 years, and many people (mostly women) practice restrictive eating habits, or have EDs. There is a lot of pressure to be thin. I taught at an all girls high school and many of my students did all types of fad diets and were thin, but were not healthy at all.
It is true. I think East Asian society discriminates against overweight women. That's why society has pressure on ALL girls/women to stay thin. You are probably never able to find a job if you are obese. This is how East Asia see women. It's all about body image and looks rather than "healthy".
@@yuenlucia5454 They might be keeping everyone healthy, if you think about it. It's true that some people overeat when they're stressed, but that's a bad coping mechanism. Society might not be putting pressure on all girls and women in East Asia, because they might like to keep themselves clean and healthy, so it's common to find fit, healthy, and clean women there. I think it's very true that if you are obese, it will be hard for you to find a job. That might be because people will think that if you're not fit and healthy, then this can mean that you don't look after your health. They might think that if you don't care about your health, you won't perform your job well. I also agree with you on the fact that society pressures some girls and women. 🤔🤔🤔
so many kpop spaces talk as if and naively believe that these Asians are naturally thin when majority are what you said they are. in fact just going to college and meeting an international student from Korea I already knew about their EDs and consciousness of their weight. she didn't outright say she had an ed but her thinking was disordered bc for someone who was already slim (but with womanly curves) she was unhappy with how she looked and actually preferred my pubescent body LOL. more people need to spread the truth on how common and prevalent EDs are in Asia and to dispel the myth that Asians are naturally skinny - there's no thing as being naturally thin (in fact babies are born chubby) it's all just lifestyle.
I wish someone would have put pressure on me to be slim and healthy! U don't want to do it when heart attacks strike and diabetes knocks on the door together with a slew or other comorbidities. Great to have somebody keep your accountable.
Oh, god... you are chubby, they fat shame the hell outta you. You diet, lose one pound and they cry over why you lose weight, don't starve, eat. And once you've eaten, there goes the fat shaming again 😂
when I moved from Russia to America I saw so much difference in food Also my stress after moving made the food get to me Now I am fat lmao But now I am on my way back
Go you! I lived in US for 2 years from UK, huge difference. You just have to eat mindfully, cook your own meals and stay away from fructose corn syrup hahaa
@@jennSalvate Well first really big noticeable difference for me was school food Living in Russia never once i would thought its possible to have pizza, nuggets, fries, chocolate milk, and stuff like that at school Ngl when I first found out I was really excited because "omg yummy food!" 😂 But now I understand that the "boring" school food in Russian was not that boring after all Some stuff i remember from school are, hard boiled eggs, porridge, buckwheat, rice, chicken, fish. Also for luch there was always a soup option. For drink there would usually be tea, or some kind of drink made out of dried fruit i don't know the name of. Another thing I noticed, there are so many places to go out to eat, and going out to eat is like a normal thing here, where as in Russia people usually go out to eat only on special occasions. And my favorite food in US, I really don't know I guess peanut butter When i lived in Russia I never seen peanut butter there. Maybe there is now But I just love peanut butter with apples/bananas

Rice isn't healthy, but yes it is a staple. This is because it provides lots of energy. But it has no nutritional value. It won't kill you but lets not pretend it is good for you.
Wendonely don't say that. Bby you're beautiful.. Don't put yourself down! And if you feel you're unhappy with your body, do something about it.. Try and change it.. *Pizza! Is! Not! Junk! Food!* I’m Italian and I hate it when people put Pizza in the same category of burgers or hotdogs Most diets (advised from professional dietitians) state that it is completely fine to have a pizza once per week. Maybe it’s the way it’s made traditionally in Italy (not precooked but freshly made with quality ingredients) but it’s not empty calories nor junk food!
Sveva Yeah, ONCE per week is fine. Just like having a cheat day with a mcdonalds is fine if you only have it once in a while but if you have it everyday or most of the time then that when it becomes unhealthy
Actually im not Italian but im thinking that pizza is not in the same categorie with those other foods that she said. Maybe its because a lot of people can get only "bread like pizza with full of extra things on it" i mean good pizza isnt that harmful i guess.
Sveva If you look at "American pizza" it has a ton of meat and cheese on it. Some even gush huge amounts of olive oil on the pizza. There is no fresh mozzarella, no fresh basil and the tomato sauce sometimes is canned and not fresh. A typical Italian pizza with only the "basic" ingredients of pizza dough, tomato sauce, few slices of mozzarella and fresh barsli is about 1/3 to half of the calories of a common pizza in America. Americans also have huge portion sizes or eat a whole pizza by themselves while in Italy one pizza is often shared among family and friends...
If you look at pizza hut pizza's for example, its full of cheese and butter, loaded of calories..l went to Italy the difference is so obvious..true pizza l will call it,ful of fresh vegetables ,fresh tomato sauce ,thin bread..so much difference
Sonia Vazquez My meals(legit not kidding) Breakfast: Steamed buns & Milk Lunch: rice and some other things Dinner: Lunch but a bit smaller 👏👏 But then again I’m Asian living in America soo.
N I Maybe on average because of poverty but for those that can afford it it’s near impossible to stay skinny especially if you live with a family because of the culture of eating.
"50 percent food, 25 percent liquid and the rest is empty" That's just what Prophet Mohammad said 1400 years ago: " A third for your food, a third for your drinking and a third for your breath" Peace be apon him❤️
I must shop with a back pack and it's absolutely awful. ^^ Wanting a watermelon in the summer? Hell this is going to hurt my back. Picking a pack of rice and some vegetabeles and fruits and it is full. No chance to shop for more than one ore two days. Super stressful and after walking home and carrying them to the 4th floor my shoulders hurt so much. And yet I am not skinny. When I am shopping groceries with my boyfriend on weekends with his car, I do not need to think twice if or how I can carry them bananas home, especially without squashing them. So much easier and I am picking much more fresh stuff.
I know sometimes I have to make 2 trips for groceries. LOL I do use the car when it is dog food and cat litter time. If it is not worth me spending the extra time walking there and back (be it that day or a different one) vs driving then do I need it that badly? That has kept me from some not so great decisions. Sometimes it is a pain but it is worth it for me. I even recruit the daughter once in a while. It is one of the few times that I do get some alone time to relax.
Very good informative video! I eat fairly healthy, not a processed food fan. But not good at eating mindfully, have to remind myself often to slow down. Side note: your top is amazing😍
There are many components to losing weight naturally. One plan I discovered which successfully combines these is the Slim Tactic Formula (google it if you're interested) definately the most incredible resource that I've heard of. look at the interesting information .
idk we eat a lot more veggies, fruits and stuff, some of us use chopsticks and some of us hands, we do yoga, and we dont get as much processed food. in the us nutritious food is mroe expensive (im using us as an example) so thats why compared to asians most americans cant help but become overweight.
your comment made my day. I was actually feeling down and uncertain at times in regards to creating videos. But if I know that my video is helping even just one person out there to live a better and happier life, then I'll keep doing what I do, because I know it's my purpose and there's a bigger picture to it. =) thanks 😘
Joanna Soh Official Yes! They help so much. My husband took me out for breakfast and all I could think about was ordering warm liquid to drink. Lol! It made my body feel so good and relaxed.
Plus MzCAGOMEA, drinking warm water definitely help me getting rid of terrible menstrual cramps. Have been practising drinking hot water daily for 3 months now and have not experienced any menstrual camps ever since ;-)
It's what we grew up on. Eating habits start as small children and just get harder to break with age. My mom was a single parent and worked full time while going to school and couldn't cook for the life of her lol but she still tried her best. We rarely ate out. I think the main problem is grabbing fast food for convenience.
I hope this is just a fear you have and can therefore overcome. And is not something you actually experienced. Most people won't pay any attention to what you eat with...some will be curious. You may even give a fellow chop stick user the courage to do the same. We should all value our culture and strive to share the unique qualities we have with each other.
I was in south Korea this year and while I am struggling with food in Germany... I literally could eat EVERYTHING in Korea. I had no problems at all, I never felt so healthy and happy.
This is the most REAL and NON-BORING weight loss vid I've ever watched! Definitely looking forward to my new lifestyle :-) thank you so much for sharing!!!! Xx
She is absolutely right. My just 35 days visit to Vancouver changed my body. I didn't indulge my self with attractive new food options there, rather I opted for healthier options like avocados, almond milk, quinoa stuff like that which are expensive in my country and daily(almost) 1 hour walk. With 20 mins dumbbell workout. I had lost 4 kgs with a good number of inches.
I love how she addresses the problem of modern medicine, and how we have gotten so use to popping a pill in our mouths as a solution. I really liked hearing about methods used to properly help the body without pills because I hate taking pills, and prefer natural remedies. When we didn’t have fancy technology plants did the job we shouldn’t give up on them now.
@@wildatlanticcaughtsalmon706 I agree, but that's why I think if anyone is taking medicine to address their problems, they should also try natural remedies alongside a healthy lifestyle by eating healthy (also make sure to get your omega 3s), exercising, getting sunlight etc. You can also learn meditation to calm anxiety.
It would be so accurate if you're Vietnamese lol Acctually I thought Asian except Indian all eat the same way as us but then I realised that I was 100% wrong.
I'm Asian and proud to be but I ain't skinny. I like the way how they eat in small portions. Some people eat like buffet style. Lol I meant looks scary but the next day I would regret eating that much food. But I will try this out Thank You for sharing.
808Blessed1 If you’re not slim, you’re not Asian enough. Don’t be a shame to your race and get a grip! Stop overeating and consumption of junk food. Simple enough. But keep eating too much if you want to die 20-30-40... years too early? Control yourself.
Fuk Yooouuu he's got a point. You're an Asian living in America that's why you're not skinny. Your family is probably not as grounded in the Asian roots as other Asian families are.
Btw I also have my own tip for weight loss. 1) eat real food, no processed food or junk food or sugary drinks 2) Eat Rice but only once 3) eat twice a day only. Thrice max 4) stop eating after 6-7pm. (4-5 hour before your normal bedtime) If you are really hungry after that fill your stomoch with water to quiet you're grumbling stomoch, or eat some veggies at night.. 5) No excercise neccessary but active lifestyle is a must It really does work
Exercise is always necessary. I did diets for years and I couldn’t lose much weight until I started to do heavy exercise. Also, drinking water won’t stop my stomach from hurting from the hunger I get at night.
My Indian classmate went to USA and she gained 10 kilos in a year! Before going to the US she was average sized not underweight or overweight, but living in the US even for a year, she gained weight!!
MorningGloryy it’s all sugar. I live in the US and it’s so hard to eat healthy. Junk food is cheaper than veggies and fruits. People want to move here but I’m getting out of here when I’m older
MorningGloryy I’m not completely sure yet but I narrowed it down to Japan, South Korea, or Singapore since their economies are booming and bc they’re very advanced. They’re gorgeous and there would also be great places to work at since I want to be a plastic surgeon.
I am asian. I was so much skinny and slim. Everyone used to praise me having good body. And now because of th psycharatic pills , i gained much weight. I swear i am not happy at all. I started jogging and now i feel healthy psychologically ( but just been 2 days)😶🙂🙂🙂
Best way to loose weight , is always eat your veggies first before your main Meal.. like for example when u order pizza and salad , it's better idea to finish your Cesar salad first so then , you won't end up eat 2 to 4 slice pizza. And also eat your fruits first before your meal , because fruits and veggies digest quicker
It's true that salads can have more calories than other unhealthy foods. Don't let the fruits and veggies label fool you. An obvious example would be like saying cake is healthy if there are fruit toppings on it..
Ok so I’m obsessed with Asian food (mainly Japanese and Chinese) and when I was eating with chopsticks I felt more full than I would when eating with a spoon or fork
I have an Asian dad and a Puerto Rican mom.. My dad: doesn’t make anything and barely eats like me My mom on the other hand: cooks empanadas, plátanos, eggs, toast, and more and then asks us what we want for lunch 😂
sucks being an asian living in a western country...so much junk food everywhere! i didn't grow up as skinny as most asians but i was also born with bigger bones too so i'd look "bigger" even when i was average tho western food is taking over in asia too and asians aren't as slim as they used to be
asians tend to have lower body mass indexes than americans, but they actually have more visceral fat sometimes which is the most unhealthy kind. basically a lot of us are skinny fat
@@bhopirl4552 theres non asians who are skinny fat too but yeah most asians have high metabolisms sadly, i'm not that kindxD i don't mind skinny fat cause its not noticeable and any fat is unhealthy though , it all depends what you eat.
nothing in america is close enough to walk or bike, the proportions here are HUGE , fast food places are everywhere (and cheap) there isn't enough access to healthy foods for people on poorer areas... ALSO no offense , but you sound like ZECORA from MLP, i like it
People are getting killed with food in America. America is poisonous in some many ways to the mind and body and spirit and heart. It sickens me. I am glad I am woke. I have lost 90 lbs. I eat for my blood type only now.
Asians also usually walk a lot due to how close places are in asian countries compared to western ones. To get to a grocery store in a western country, you usually have no choice but to go by car because of how far stores are from the houses. But in asian countries everything is usually at a relatively walkable distance.
I'm Asian and was born with high fast metabolism which runs in my family from my mom and I can't gain weight. Sadly. I get hungry easily. Literally a walking stick and get made fun of. :c Still trying to embrace that because I've been told I'll lose it and it'll slow down as I get older.
nina loves yoongi Runs in genes from my mom's mom (which is my grandma). You don't have to be Asian to have high fast metabolism. I've met other people who aren't Asian and they have it or they're naturally petite/thin (whatever you wanna call it). So don't worry about it. ☺ Just eat healthy, exercise and drink water.
I would be so happy with your metabolism.. eat everything I want without gaining weight 😭💕 anyways if you feel bad about your body like a comment there you have to try weight training.. you will gain mass and have a really nice body 😊 Wish you luck~

This makes me want to go live in Asia for a while and pick up these food customs lol
You don’t need to live in Asia to pick up healthy eating customs. Just make a decision.
You just need to change the way you eat, having smaller portions or smaller platter (bowls, plates etc.), use smaller spoons to give the illusion that you're eating a lot. It's basically eating slow and changing your mindset

LOL okay, have fun with that. dont mind me, I'll just be living in japan for the next 10 years cuz I can, they're very nice and welcoming
Same. Here we don't have the ability to eat as healthy as asian countries and we can't easily find healthy things to eat usually and that is discouraging me at least to start a diet with fresh asian foods and without eating a sweet which is sugary. Dear Americans,
For tip no. 1 she means unsweetened tea. And hot not iced tea. Whenever I go to America and ask for some herbal tea, I usually get iced tea with lots and lots of sugar, which is just as bad as soft drinks.
Goodness you love to categorize.
Iv'e been to America, and asked for tea multiple times before. Iv'e never once gotten ice tea in it's place. Where is it you went, Mcdonald's?
Thank you
You know, you can ask for unsweetened tea, right?

My dear dad(lived well into his late 80s) ate small amount of anything he wanted when he was hungry, drank shot and a beer almost everyday. Slept 3-4 hours only BUT walked everywhere(never had a car) I grew up in the inner city. He was never really sick. Got out and talked to people everyday. He died with only enough money to bury him. He was a very simple man. Loved life! Anyway...thanks for the video. I do believe the keys to slimness is moving everyday. And eating only until full.
Peace to all!❤️

I lived in Japan for 1 year and Korea for 4 years, and many people (mostly women) practice restrictive eating habits, or have EDs. There is a lot of pressure to be thin. I taught at an all girls high school and many of my students did all types of fad diets and were thin, but were not healthy at all.
It is true. I think East Asian society discriminates against overweight women. That's why society has pressure on ALL girls/women to stay thin. You are probably never able to find a job if you are obese. This is how East Asia see women. It's all about body image and looks rather than "healthy".
@@yuenlucia5454 They don't eat bad food it's ok, but they sometimes do
@@yuenlucia5454 They might be keeping everyone healthy, if you think about it.

Well first really big noticeable difference for me was school food
Living in Russia never once i would thought its possible to have pizza, nuggets, fries, chocolate milk, and stuff like that at school
Ngl when I first found out I was really excited because "omg yummy food!" 😂
But now I understand that the "boring" school food in Russian was not that boring after all
Some stuff i remember from school are, hard boiled eggs, porridge, buckwheat, rice, chicken, fish.
And my favorite food in US, I really don't know
I guess peanut butter
When i lived in Russia I never seen peanut butter there. Maybe there is now

*Pizza! Is! Not! Junk! Food!*
I’m Italian and I hate it when people put Pizza in the same category of burgers or hotdogs
Most diets (advised from professional dietitians) state that it is completely fine to have a pizza once per week.
Maybe it’s the way it’s made traditionally in Italy (not precooked but freshly made with quality ingredients) but it’s not empty calories nor junk food!
Sveva
Yeah, ONCE per week is fine.
Sveva Traditional Italian pizza ? Lot healither and delicious - no grease all good ingredients, but the processed rubbish is junk food

Sl K haha yep that's true. When I lived in Europe it was like that for me. I had to really need it to pack it
I must shop with a back pack and it's absolutely awful.

It's quite disturbing that Americans themselves don't see that what they eat is probably the strangest diet of all. Speaking as an american btw.

It's what we grew up on. Eating habits start as small children and just get harder to break with age. My mom was a single parent and worked full time while going to school and couldn't cook for the life of her lol but she still tried her best. We rarely ate out. I think the main problem is grabbing fast food for convenience.
Honestly, I admire Asian women so much. I really do. There's a lot to learn from their healthy lifestyles.
The thing is, if you go up to a white American School and then pull Chopsticks out of your lunch box people are going to call you a weeaboo
Eat with a teaspoon, or buy kids size spoons. Every notice how small some little kids are when they eat using kid size eating tools?
Depends on where you go.
Nah no one gives about whatcha eat with
I hope this is just a fear you have and can therefore overcome. And is not something you actually experienced. Most people won't pay any attention to what you eat with...some will be curious. You may even give a fellow chop stick user the courage to do the same. We should all value our culture and strive to share the unique qualities we have with each other.
And what's a weeaboo anyhow???
I was in south Korea this year and while I am struggling with food in Germany... I literally could eat EVERYTHING in Korea. I had no problems at all, I never felt so healthy and happy.
german food has actually a lot of carbs if you think about it..
Remember, natural remedies won’t help with everything either.

Meal.. like for example when u order pizza and salad , it's better idea to finish your Cesar salad first so then , you won't end up eat 2 to 4 slice pizza. And also eat your fruits first before your meal , because fruits and veggies digest quicker
London Jhey that is a really good idea 💡🙂
Excellent advice. Also, drinking a glass of water before you eat anything helps you feel full and also helps you digest your food :-)
이하루 put less dressing
cesar salads are kinda shit for you.
It's true that salads can have more calories than other unhealthy foods. Don't let the fruits and veggies label fool you. An obvious example would be like saying cake is healthy if there are fruit toppings on it..
If you didn’t realize in the video she said, “East Asian.”
Just wanted to point that out for people that missed it :)
Ok so I’m obsessed with Asian food (mainly Japanese and Chinese) and when I was eating with chopsticks I felt more full than I would when eating with a spoon or fork
I have an Asian dad and a Puerto Rican mom..
My dad: doesn’t make anything and barely eats like me
My mom on the other hand: cooks empanadas, plátanos, eggs, toast, and more and then asks us what we want for lunch 😂
My Asian mom and Irish dad can’t cook anything 😂
Br33
yes bb, I’m Mexican and Cuban.... we THICC 🤣🤣
all of the empanadas 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
😂 Im weak
East Asian mom, south asian dad and me: *argentinian*
Las empanadas son muy buenas, no las he tenido en mucho tiempo
sucks being an asian living in a western country...so much junk food everywhere! i didn't grow up as skinny as most asians but i was also born with bigger bones too so i'd look "bigger" even when i was average
tho western food is taking over in asia too and asians aren't as slim as they used to be
Bigger bones 🤔
@@BlueberryFundip yeah i drank alot of milk younger and i guess i was born that way too lol

Kk
asians tend to have lower body mass indexes than americans, but they actually have more visceral fat sometimes which is the most unhealthy kind. basically a lot of us are skinny fat
@@bhopirl4552 theres non asians who are skinny fat too but yeah most asians have high metabolisms
sadly, i'm not that kindxD i don't mind skinny fat cause its not noticeable
and any fat is unhealthy though , it all depends what you eat.
nothing in america is close enough to walk or bike, the proportions here are HUGE , fast food places are everywhere (and cheap) there isn't enough access to healthy foods for people on poorer areas... ALSO no offense , but you sound like ZECORA from MLP, i like it
The closest market to me is a 30 minute drive away
People are getting killed with food in America. America is poisonous in some many ways to the mind and body and spirit and heart. It sickens me. I am glad I am woke. I have lost 90 lbs. I eat for my blood type only now.
Woah now I feel lucky to be born in Asia....
And by the way it's not like we don't have fast food here there's McDonald's everywhere
Asians also usually walk a lot due to how close places are in asian countries compared to western ones. To get to a grocery store in a western country, you usually have no choice but to go by car because of how far stores are from the houses. But in asian countries everything is usually at a relatively walkable distance.
YO LEGIT I GOT AN AD THAT SAID, "STOP. DON'T EXERCISE" LIKE AJAGSGSZG

I'm Asian and was born with high fast metabolism which runs in my family from my mom and I can't gain weight. Sadly. I get hungry easily. Literally a walking stick and get made fun of. :c Still trying to embrace that because I've been told I'll lose it and it'll slow down as I get older.
yep, like that comment. Wow, how your mom gets that metabolism? give me some tips, i'm not asian but really, hope other life i'll be lmao😙😉❤
nina loves yoongi Runs in genes from my mom's mom (which is my grandma). You don't have to be Asian to have high fast metabolism. I've met other people who aren't Asian and they have it or they're naturally petite/thin (whatever you wanna call it). So don't worry about it. ☺ Just eat healthy, exercise and drink water.
XiLaak Xinc thank u so much, before i get fast mtbsm, but i think i lost it. :-(
Me too. No matter how hard I try to gain weight, I can't.
I would be so happy with your metabolism.. eat everything I want without gaining weight 😭💕 anyways if you feel bad about your body like a comment there you have to try weight training.. you will gain mass and have a really nice body 😊 Wish you luck~
Her: Asians are slim.
Me: *looks at myself* .... yeah right qwq
Edit: Omg thank you guys for the likes haha! 😂💕
