You are more fortunate than you know to be able to spend time with your father like this. It is worth far more than any worldly treasure that you will only grow to value more the older you get.
So I stumbled on this video because it’s right up my alley. Literally in every way 😮. I used to have an FJ. Love them! Love the color of the rig by the way. Not only that but you’re making a film that’s in my backyard. Dude if your ever back toward the scenic Highway let me know. That’s 5min from the house. I do a lot of filming on that road! My favorite place to clear my head. But yeah I could def show you around and hit up some camping for sure. My latest rig I’ve about got finished. I’m hoping to hit Utah and Colorado this year. Awesome video my guy!
This video captures my inner peace. I have a modified overlanding Gladiator but my research for an FJ Cruiser brought me here. I can see why people love them. It's really the right size and setup for an overlanding experience. Thanks so much for sharing these. #subbed
The Canaan Loop and Canyon Rim are two of my favorite trails in the east. That washout on Canyon Rim gets bad, then gets smoothed out from traffic, then gets washed out again.
@@OutboundIntent I was out there in January and other than being covered in snow, it was pretty tame. Back in March of '22 it was tougher. In your video it looks like it's gotten a little more washed out since I was there in January.
I live here and see a lot of adventure rigs. My ask is that everyone SLOW down and enjoy the ride. As a member of EMS I have seen my share of accidents from simply going to fast on Loop rd. Additionally, there are hikers, skiers & bikers that use the road so heed with caution friends and tread lightly. 👍
I was just down there for the first time. It was awesome. We did the Canaan Loop in the opposite direction of you and part of Canyon Rim Trail over a weekend. I took the easy route to the right around that washout. There was no water when we went through. There was a washout later on that seemed fairly new, there was large exposed and beat up culvert pipe we had to cross. Fairly sketch. Such a great area. I can't wait to go back. That riverside camp site looked sick.
Hey, it was rad catching you tearing it up in your Fj offroad! Those obstacles had me cracking up, but hey, when you're in West Virginia, it's all part of the adventure, right? So, spill it - what was the absolute highlight of your trip
High quality video and fantastic scenery! Do you happen to have a link to the full route (or set of trails) and campsite waypoints you did on each day? Or maybe just a list you can reply with that here? Would be much appreciated, as my friends and I are currently planning a WV trip for early summer.
Where were the areas you camped at? Me, my wife and son are looking at taking a trip to WV. But was just wondering if there’s a lot of dispersed spots or should we book some campground sites. Thanks 👍
Planning to get Uronman Foamcell 2" lift with some BFG or Falken/Yokohama 285/70/17. I've been told these are LT tires and would impact the transmission/gearbox in the long-term since they are heavier tires - been told to change the gear ratio. Did you have do that or face any problems?

Production value is a 10. Making me look forward to taking my daughter on a few FJ adventures this summer, it's an 11.
Sounds like a great summer planned! I hope you guys have a good time 👊🏼

They are definitely pretty fun routes! Was the washout similar to what you saw in the video when you were last there?

I love Spruce Knob! I hope you stopped by Seneca Rocks too. That's a gorgeous part of a gorgeous state.

I am from WV and know some of these trails. Do you have a GPX file of your trip so I could follow the same route? Thanks! Awesome FJ btw

Hey man, NOVA Fj owner myself here. Are you heading to the FJ northeasters run on the 18th?
Unfortunately not, didn’t know it was a thing until you mentioned it. Maybe next year I’ll be there!

Thank you! It’s a work in progress 👊🏼
What part of PA are you from?
What tires are on the fj?
Nitto Ridge Grapplers

If you listen closely I said, "Ahh Subaru" because there was parts littered everywhere from a Subaru trying this trail 💀
