  • Okay so I wanted to see if the cells and lacing I have been getting with my swipes will work just as well with the American Floetrol as it has with the Australian. I was surprised by the results and I used my regular mixed paints no varnish or house paint, or oils! Let me know what you think!
    Thanks,

My understanding is that the only thing you need the Australian Floetrol for is the specific BLoom technique, in which case you also need very specific base paint and pouring medium. Just adding or comparing Australian Floetrol to US flow trawl in a regularswipe or pour painting probably wouldn’t show much difference.
We only spend a fortune on it and ship it from Australia to use to make the Bloom happen :-)

I know but I like the blooms for the lacing and I wanted to show that you don’t need all the other expensive products to get the lacing. Also I think you can probably use the American for the blooms and skip the Australian floetrol.

Question...does it have to be the Amsterdam titanium white? Can you use a different brand? Also, can you use a color instead of white? TIA!

I found that Amsterdam titanium white worked better than Artist loft. I know you can use Amsterdam Black or Golden black both work well. I haven’t tried other colors but was planning on experimenting with some this week to see what happens.

Ours looks more vibrant.... But the Australian seemed to blend I to the base better. More wispy... So I guess it depends on what look you're going for. If u want BAM in your face, use American.... (isn't that how we are anyways? 🤣)

For the blooms I fuming you need to add the wood conditioner oil. I really prefer the swipes anyway. I use American floetrol now and it works great. Watch video #75 I show a comparison if the two floetrols.

Can you try using American penetrol combined with Us Floetrol? The Penetrol is like Floetrol but for oil paint in addition to M-1 eliminated the Solon in the us Floetrol, a small bottle $5 additive to paints 1 bottle to 1 gallon of us Floetrol I think this will make it less dense like Ausy Floetrol

It's pretty difficult to tell since you didn't do a decent swipe of the Australian. :/

I feel like you had more white pn your knife with the USA than the Aussie floetrol. But the USA one is prettier with more white.

So the aussie floetrol has more of a reaction with the paints so more cells pop up leaving less white on the surface.

I think it might of been the Amsterdam.

Hmm I never thought about that! I will have to try the Amsterdam white with a different pouring medium and see what happens.
