  • Acrylic Pouring Experiment - Floetrol vs Water ONLY.
So different and yet so similar!
Today I will show you the difference between the two most commonly used fluid paint mixing recipes.
One is mixed with Acrylic Paint and Water, the other with Acrylic Paint, Floetrol, and Water.
For the demonstration, I'm using the Flip Cup technique.

    Better late than never.
I really like the water only painting.
It's "soft" looking, tranquil, but there's areas that are sharper so it's a nice contrast.
Plus, for me, the water only painting pulls me into it - like looking at clouds

I am New in this. I didn't tray yet. Do you put pouring liquid in color before you mix it with color. Also I got synthetic oil for making cells in color.
NOW i watch this video and have no klue whot is in larger canister 😢.
Tell me how do I begin. Give me eny advice please. Vith love Ana

    • @serenityjewel
      @serenityjewel 9 місяців тому +1

@@anazec2887Floetrol is in the large canister. You prepare each color mixture separately first, like she did in this video. When each color is ready, then you add it to your cup, like she did in this mixture. I have no idea what synthetic oil is, so if you got that off a video, follow the video instructions that told you to buy the synthetic oil. Everyone does their paint pours a little different so it's best to stick with one person and try their techniques to see if it works for you. Then you can always look someone else up and try their techniques. I don't suggest mixing techniques before you even try the first one.

This overall quality of your canvas is going to depend on the quality level of your paints.. professional level paints has has higher pigmentation and doesn't look as flat vs student level paint which has lower level quality pigmentation that can separate causing the colors to look less bright. Golden Fluid Paint Vs Paint Masters Pouring paint is a good comparison. You can add just water to the Golden Fluid paints without issues whatsoever but student level paints start to separate a bit when diluted.

I actually like them both... for different reasons. The water only - doesn't have as many cells, and the colors aren't as vibrant, however, the colors blended together to form new colors, which gives the painting a more ethereal, dreamlike look, which I love.
The floetrol colors have more cells, which if you like that kind of look, it sparks more interest. But what pulls me into the second one is the colors. There is a little blending of colors there, not as much, but the colors are more vibrant, more alive to me which I also love. There's also a bolder distinction between the colors.
I don't have a choice of one painting over the other... I actually love the distinctive differences between the two.

The water-only design is richer, more depth, no annoying pock-marks and bubbles. After three years of acrylic pouring, I am finally rethinking both Floetrol and GAC800. The jury is still out on Liquitex Pouring Medium. Well done video, new sub here.

What's the Liquitex pouring medium? Is this an alternative to the floetrol or how is it used?

Both are good. It would depend on what outcome you're looking for. If you don't want cells, water is fine. I've only ever used Australian floetrol and I noticed that the UK one is thicker and gives less cells. If I don't want cells, I use a mixture of PVA glue and water as my medium. I do love Amsterdam acrylics. Thank you for sharing ✌️❤️

The floetrol helps with cells coming through but the smoothness looks good too, they both look nice in their own way, with or without cells 👍

Comme l'a dit Scarlatine, la vidéo est déjà 1 œuvre d'art musique melange😉et couleurs. Pour ma part , je ne sais tjrs pas ce que je préfère avec ou sans cellules. TOUT ME PLAIT .
