Preach! 🙌 The thing that's helped me the most is to shift from balance as the goal and start thinking in terms of "meeting needs". I ask myself which needs are being met or neglected, which are most urgent or the highest on my priority list, and what ways I can meet those needs. This leads me to find a sense of HARMONY versus balance.
hard to take it when you are the only person doing the job.. and you have reports for clients. I take a day off, the work still has to get done by the due date. So I rarely take more than 1 day and if I do it's around a holiday(memorial day, 4th of july, labor day, thanksgiving and christmas-this is the exception i'm taking the week between christmas and new years off). I've worked at the job for 4 years and have rolled 40 hours of pto every year... 1st year and this year i'm losing a few vacation hours, as they are in excess of the 40 rollover. I know i'm burnt out...but I don't have another option at this time..
Definitely understand the struggle 🙏 I know it's easier said than done. I hope you're able to find solutions that will still work with your work situation in the future 💗
So weird how it is frowned upon to take paid time off. I’m from Antigua in the Caribbean and it’s enforced to take your vacation days and don’t let them roll over to the following year.
Hello Stephanie. I just started a new job and my boss is a workaholic. She’s always working until 12 but I noticed she’s not actually working on deliverables but projects that are not immediately due. It’s been 2 months here and I constantly sign off at 7:30 from Monday to Thursday. On Friday I signed off at 5 PM because I had other commitments and she told me she wants me to stay for something that is clearly not urgent and could be done Monday Morning. Is there anyway to recover from this situation or should I just look for a new job? I am an industry CPA and never worked with someone who tells me how many hours she works as if it’s a good thing..

Wow I love that, meeting needs and harmony 💗🙌 thank you for sharing!
"don't just log off (on fridays) and sign on later on that evening" 😂 I feel personally attacked

You are so well put together for videos! Do you have any tips on how to be camera, work video conference ready? Could you do a video on that? 😅

Love your sweater! Where did you buy it? 👌🏻🎁
Thank you! I got it from C&A while I was in Poland last year.
Very good tips.
Was the heed/hedded blooper an intentional reference to the office? 😂

Accountant is the worst and most boring career on earth. Just dealing with endless problems and rubbish. I can't see how anyone would want to do it.
Haha!!
Accountants recharge by attending marketing events and doing CPE.
