My one silkie has a hard time seeing, but she just successfully hatched 2 quacker duck eggs for me. It is so amazing to see how she is coping with the 2 ducklings not really being able to see so well. She is a very relaxed mom. 💕
I'm so glad you started a YT channel! I follow you on FB and have always loved your Silkies (I even have tried winning some eggs from you with a few of your raffles 😆). It's good to see videos about Silkies! There aren't enough out there! Great job. 😊
Love the video!!! welcome to that space, im sure you will grow quick!!!! I grew up in the lox......... 1st year of high school at wellington... others at the ridge after it opened... I aint been anywhere near that place since 2012.... almost miss it. lol
Thanks for the info about Silkies. My girl is still growing but loves to sit on my shoulder or my lap. I got her a little chicken diaper. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
Came across your video...hoping to learn more about silkies, because I was told 1 hen I bought was a 'silkie bantam'...She has so many characteristics of the silkie, on the other hand, she does NOT! So, thanks for the vid!
Our silkie rooster has six toes on each foot. If they have the dominant poly pterodactyl genes they will have 6 toes. We love the fact that the silkies really enjoy being mamas.
Hi there! I just hatched my first group of silkies and one has a slipped tendon. Have you ever had this happen? It's two days old and I have it splinted and in a "chick chair." Just curious of any input you may have
I've got a Bantam Frizzle and she is 5 or 6 and at one time ran the yard of a dozen hens with her twin sister, then one day my two white brahma’s beat the crap out of her and left her laying, I actually gloved up and got a bag and she squaked at me & I put her in a dog kernel as at the time I thought she was Sick as I didn't know she had a beat down, so I gave her water with electrolytes & keep her inside with me for several days on one of her outings & she wandered away from me & one of the White girls started beating her across the yard, holding her down and exhaustin her with her Bulk and her sister ran over & started giving her Death Pecks & if you don't know what a death peck looks like feed them some Spare Ribs & you'll see a assault of Death Pecks anyway I rescued her & have had her with me since with Dailey outing inside the Dog Kenel with the Tray pulled, she's eating her stacker feed with a bi daily feed of Baby Spinich Blueberries & Strawberries to get her a rounded diet & keep Scratch in the Cage. Will she ever be able to Go Back to her Flock and establish her dominance ? I won't allow fighting and I have no roosters My friends call me Foghorn Leghorn

You can trim their fuzz around their eyes I trim mine so they can see to protect themselves as well

I just saw this! I think you reached out to me about it on Instagram right?
What do you use in your run, this is my first time owning chickens and I am trying to get it right, and did you build your own coop?
My one silkie hen just pops out an egg and leaves. She doesn’t get broody or anything
