You're a little hoarse, I have a little horse 🐴 (sorry, I couldn't help myself 😂) I know both you and I are about to get some scary storms right now and through the night 😱 I'll be wishing you a safe night...🙏💝
Thank you💕 Same here, looks scary. I'm afraid to go to sleep until the threat of tornadoes pass.... I'll be praying for you, your family and your animals.... 🙏🙏🙏
Love the advice thank u But the more and more u said “ weak “ kinda annoyed me 😅 They are not “ weak “ they are just unlucky to be born that way. lost my grey baby 2 days ago She wasn’t weak, she was a super cuddly girl sweet girl; Just had an incurable respiratory infection. Not “ weak “ sometimes things happen, not the chicken themselves just the unlucky roll of the dice. U should try ur hardest to save them even if they have health issues 😭 Every life matters, even if ur able to pop babies out super quick
@@ThisOldGreenhouse yeah I’m new to breeding so I’ve been getting way to attached to them, I tried my hardest to save her life but I couldn’t So I made myself a promise to try my hardest to save as many of their lives as possible in honor of that baby girl
@@ladanyortiz Your Welcome. Yes I generally try to feed a little bit higher protein with the type of feathers they have. Keeps them looking nice and very healthy.
Are the hatchies a good place to order silkie babies? I'm having problems in our local area in Georgia finding quality Silkies that are a single color and mixed with another color.
I am in East Tn too! We might be neighbors! Thank you for sharing this info! I love my silkies, only having them for a year now. I love learning better ways of caring for them.
I love your videos. Speaking of feed, you mentioned Kalmbach feed. I use that brand and am currently using their full plume feathering feed. What bag specifically do you use? I am new at this and if there is a kind I don't have to mix I'd prefer that :)
I know some people who use the Kalmbach meat bird…. It’s looks very similar nutritionally except it 22% protein. I also think the show bird one could be a good choice .. it’s 24%
This is a really really good video, very informative. Thank you for taking the time to share this knowledge!
Oh you’re welcome!
I like the chicks. Please make a video about your plants and greenhouse too
Do you have any advise for 8 week old chick that won’t drink
@@ashleyeastcott6429 try syringe feeding and giving some electrolytes… I sometimes give nutridrench.

@@MistressLupine My experience is not overbreed the ‘weak’ ones just to get beautiful birds.

Excellent advice! A must watch, for people who have Silkies!
I love the chicken tractor, your husband really did a super good job on this!!
Thank you ☺️
Hi! Thank you so much for this video! Do you give the 22-24% protein food to adult silkies as well?

If you are wanting guaranteed quality Silkies I would try to find a reputable breeder. You don’t really know what you’re getting from a hatchery.
what height do you hang nest boxes?

Oh thank you. Glad you are enjoying them ☺️. I’m currently using Flock maker crumbles 20% it has added vitamins. I just add treats.
