  • In the quaint town of Adams, Tennessee a sinister legend is what this town is best known for. Folks believe that spirits, ghosts, and orbs can be heard talking. Some believe that whatever was lurking in a house in Adams was stuck between the spirit world and the living. Could it have been witches? Or could it have just been the imagination of a small town?

Anybody ever stop to think Betsy was being abused by her father, and she or someone else in the family poisoned him? That would explain why he was kicked out of his church, and why she was afraid to sleep alone for the rest of her life.

The Hollywood movie portrays John Bell as a molester. (of course when we know what goes on in Hollywood) An independent film made in 2004 is much more accurate. He was excommunicated from a church over a financial dispute with Kate Batts.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of it was because of the cave on the farm, don't echoes carry? Couldn't a family member or foe mess around with the family? And any physical activity seen by outsiders could have been due to unstable ground and expectations. I grew up nearby. My grandmother used to tell stories about witches she allegedly knew growing up, including the Bell Witch. As kids, we used to have seances to talk to her. She would occasionally show up & create noises or make something fall off a shelf, etc. Then we’d all get scared & scatter. It was good fun. I didn’t think anybody outside TN even knew about her. Most settlers in TN came from Scotch-Irish immigrants. That culture embraced magic & “witchcraft” in its legends. A lot of us believe the earth & land have powers that some people can tap into. These days the Christian influence is greater than the pagan ones, but years ago, there was a lot of Wiccan type religious rituals. My high school -to this day- has a big celebration of Beltane, even though it’s now a very Christian community.

Kate doesn't need to be "dead" to be the witch. If Kate Batts was skilled in what we now call "Out of Body travel" she very much could have been alive in one part of the country and still attacked the family in another part of the country. Some people are born with the ability to travel out of body and others like the Strigoi-Viu of Romania learn to do it via training from family.

When I was the age 6 years old in 1976, my family & I moved in my irst haunted house. It was a very bad house! My mother found documentation that stated this property was ancient Indian burial ground. THE REAL DEAL! We ended up living there for 5 years.
After that, from 1981- 1998 I lived in another 11 other haunted houses.
Finally in 1998, I had enough!
I cried out to the Lord Jesus Christ. I begged him into my heart & asked Him to please make it all to stop!
I have not been bothered again since 1998.
Only Jesus Christ can protect you now in this life and in the afterlife against these demonic spirits!
If you are having this problem then Jesus Christ into your life. Ask him to be your lord and savior. Ask him for his protection along with his holy angels. If you are sincere, I guarantee you 100%, you will be saved and not be bothered again by these evil entities!

First, I doubt any actual indians of the past would identify with " Native American " much less understand the English language of today!
Second. Indians believe ALL land is either sacred or cursed. Or both.

In the movie "An American Haunting" the Bell Witch only came to the Bell because John Bell was sexually molesting his own daughter, and it had to show the mother what her husband was doing to their daughter, and then Betsy's mother had poisoned John for what he did.

    • @janicem9225
      @janicem9225 2 роки тому

      That's BS.
Even Betsy later on said her father was a Godly, good man, and no one could figure out why he was tormented so badly.
Betsy later believed it was her husband, Richard Powell, involved in the occult, who had used it to destroy her engagement to Joshua Gardner, and to kill John Bell Sr, because he ( as well as other men, due to him talking about the occult) was against Powell wanting to court Betsy.
There's a lot of circumstantial evidence, which points to that having been the case.

This is not the way a Witch does her magic, it sounds more like a poltergeist or demon spirit

From the information I had at the time. Katie was the Granddaughter of a native American female Sharman. And she was taught by her. And I truly don't know what you personally practicing. But it's not uncommon at all for someone who practice the craft to call upon a elemental sprites. Witch are nothing but a lower level Demon,.

@@DavidFPike I don't know where you obtained your information from but, witches are definitely *not* "lower level demons".

@@DavidFPike I’ve always been told witches are women/men (traditionally women tho) who gave their soul to the devil for powers, either knowingly or not. Voodoo has powerful witchcraft going back hundreds of years… they may call it different names but many indigenous tribes from all over the world as well.
