- Even today, the superstition of living dead persists, and belief in the undead is also widespread in Europe. In some areas of Romania, belief in vampires is still alive. With cultural anthropologist Deborah Hyde and neuroscientist Jason Braithwaite, we are going on a ghost hunt in Muncaster Castle and look for scientific explanations for the haunted phenomena there.

Aren’t we all very lucky to have such ‘experts’ as Dr Braithwaite to be able to explain away all the phenomena that people perceive as ghosts and so dispel our fears? Some will say ‘just because you believe it, doesn’t make it true’, however the flip side to that is ‘just because you don’t believe doesn’t mean mean it isn’t possible’.
“There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy” - Hamlet
Mmm fresh salt
Actually, there are more things in your philosophy than there are in heaven and earth.
lol
Simulacra and Simulation
Great film though there is much unexplained...I have had such an experience myself
Debra Hyde looks so beautiful in a castle.❤
Talking about crying children - proceeds to use the sounds of a grown woman fake crying.
Sound effect for this show,
Also, they spelled 'castle' without an 'S' - showed it at least three times - how does that miss the edit?
Everybody's a critic, huh? But I've noticed they never have any content on their channels.
I noticed that too.
Ooooo the theory of ghost stories being olden day security for premises after dark!? I enjoyed that theory ☺️
Same as monster stories to keep kids in line. Ignorance and superstition have that effect on the same type of people who are actively religious.
For the unbelievers, they can find any excuses to deny the paranormal activities. So, there is no ghost in the world.
A wonderful& unique introduction of that matter about Ghost 👻 👽 stories, legends beneath England 🇬🇧 population exists , also in Germany 🇩🇪 & Serbia 🇷🇸 ..other places .shared by a magnificent ( Get.factual) channel, thanks for sharing... Maybe legend literatures, horrific past events prosecutions - tyrannical sides of those events & historical trails exist until nowadays there exists as old castle 🏰 old stone's buildings & strange Graves ...all these factors encouraged these kinds of beliefs inside someone mind's around the world ... maybe religions need its spiritual positioning, returning in nowadays century when the material world 🌎 completely dominance through reliving that believe for benefits of religions
Says "England" uses the wrong flag...
I'm a long lost Pennington, so i should be living in a Castle. 🏰 Wouldn't that be awesome!? Castle life.
Imagine the amount of cleaning. It would never end!
Very interesting documentary. I myself for some reason possibly have 'the gift' not sure if its a blessing or a curse
.. ' 36:36 i fairly regularly experience touches & feel presences and see things' but im also sceptical x
Seek out a psychiatrist and get evaluated.
I prefer a more scientific explanation, such as temporal anomalies, after images and sounds. Time flows like a river and like a river it can meander.
all those who dont believe in ghosts are going to find out they are real one day, even if they find out when they become 1
Super out there as far I think
18:45 wow, this guy looks like Cromwell himself!!
@Get.factual could you please upload a documentary about the Tudor era of English history.
Oh no not another one. There is literally Brazilians of documentaries about the Tudor age of Britian on you tube. How could u possibly need a new one
Are they all ghosts?
In Borana ,they are known by the name Ragg Ali bothe.
The Twin had supernatural Power to tell about the future.
Watching from Kenya in Isiolo County 2023
After many trials to get hold of the twins ,
i like Deborah Hyde
Is superstition based on a subjective perspective?
Idk what that means but I think we’ve been a superstitious lot for basically as long as we’ve been human
Superstitions are widely held but I would think the experience of them would be subjective.

The History of Borana Ethiopia With similar background
Oh! Say Derbyshire again. 😂
if you don,t have the gift you won,t see the dead
I rather enjoy the Eurocentric themes on this channel
Nothing wrong with scary stories to make folks get chicken skin. Power of the mind to create ghosts from out of routine, sounds. Nothing more fun as a skeptic, then setting up believers by “making” things happen on tours. Grew up the oldest of 7. Learned early the power of suggestion and willingness of others, to validate/accept the events I created - as paranormal😂
Ever heard of Hitler one of the biggest users of power of suggestion
I wonder if the owner of Muncaster Castle is related to Janice Pennington. somebody really famous.
If he married into the Frost-Pennington family then he must have taken his wife's name? As it clearly states his surname as Frost-Pennington. Most unusual as in the Uk the woman adopts the man's surname upon marriage.Any explanation?
I expect his name is originally Frost as the family seated at Muncaster is usually referred to as the Pennington family. It is extremely common in gentry and aristocratic families where there is entailed property for a husband of an heiress to assume her family name or add her name to his own
Thank you for that info Ludo vica.@@ludovica8221
Ghost ?
ONE of the Twins became Borana traditional prophet
Alien?
I think I'd rather investigate Deborah. 😅
Ghost is real but Not sure about Alien
A great documentary! Many thanks for the upload. We need more things like this to combat the absurdity of people believing in ghosts! It 2023 fr goodness sake! Grow up people... oh and Romania.... wow.... lol
What about the absurd belief in Aliens? Even governments have assented to believing in them publicly now!
Don’t judge those that have witnessed ghosts, maybe one day it could happen to you, then your whole perception will change ..
Is Zeus, as the Titans ghosts? And if King Sisyphus promoted navigation and commerce but was avaricious and deceitful because he killed guests and travelers in his palace, to end up cheating death as the one and only, if is it considered a rule to become a vampire or even a werewolf, the person has to first dye. And if so, are they guided through the death process by the people they eat?
And how did France head off their growth into the north with court like records?
I do feel bad for any child stuck here when they really need to be in Heaven.
Prof. Ronald Hutton......get a haircut already!!
The family members took the twins
Hocus Pocus
I can hardly believe that an apparently English narrator could fail to pronounce Derbyshire correctly (it's "dar-be-sha" not "der-be-shyer")
Dialects my dude. Also, shire is correct. Sha is not.
@@SonOfTheDawn515 wrong. All British counties are pronounced Sher or sha.. never "shyer" (except by Americans) and as I cant imagine an English person saying "dialects are my dude" I suggest you defer to a real English person on this one
Oh dude, everybody’s different don’t get offended 😂
@@MGS.037 Not offended. Its just that DAR-BE-SHA is the only correct way for the UK. I know perfectly well that the US city of Berkeley is "Berk-lee" and the UK place of the exact same name is pronounced "Bark-lee", that Americans say "Derr-bee" where we say "Darr-bee"
Knowing the difference is called Education and respecting other people and nations
The less educated, the more superstitious, usually. Also, the more immersed in religious dogma, the more likely that one will subscribe to occult beliefs.
100% this^^^
So there is nothing nothing beyond what our senses can detect? How arrogant.
@@stevecooper7038 People like them enjoy drugs to dull their senses, so they cant trust their own senses afterwards.
This would be a broad assumption considering alot of people who do believe in the unexplainable tend to be less religious. You really have to interact with a religious based person to understand how much they DONT believe in ghosts/spirits/unexplainable. Too each their own.
I’m religious, but I assure you I have seen with my very own eyes they exist, if you’ve not witnessed don’t judge..
Not so strange, millions of christians pray to an undead Jew.
He's not "un dead,"He is alive. The undead are still dead.⚰☠
@@BlueBonnie764
undead jeabus let me drink your blood
Undead jeabus let me eat your flesh
I love that you died for my sins
Oh
undead jeabus
Undead jeabus
Undead jeabus
i love you so much i eat your flesh and drink your blood
why not say his name?
Even funnier is how much you hate that Undead Jew. If only He'd stayed down! 😂
what is strange is those who think theres no ghosts, what do they think humans are???? a chunk of meat that operates like an appliance that stops working one day so they bury it and thats that???
Anyone that has any doubts,
Go see HAUNTED FINDERS
You only need to suggest something is haunted/paranormal & people will start to feel, see & experience things all of a sudden. Bcs ypu suggested it, people will look for it/expect it & after that our brain will explain all new things as something paranormal..
Here it's in the name = people will go there expecting/hoping to experience something "paranormal" i bet 99% of them are believers already the rest will fall on the suggestion part..
People who believe in ghosts, will think everything were it's isn't clear right away what happened & why, is paranormal.. logical explanations are completely ignored..
You want it to be true..
@@ingridakerblom7577 can you explain film footage and pictures, and voices cought on tape, folks have been sent to prison on lesser proof.🤷
@@ingridakerblom7577 Likewise, you can have some so called 'expert' say that a thing is impossible, and people will deny their own experiences based on the word of an expert. This avenue flows both ways! if some one whom you trust tells you that you are beautiful, no amount of evidence otherwise will convince you that most find you hideous-looking! The power of belief is amazing! Science scarcely has a clue about the human mind.
This is all nonsense.
These "experts" invariably bring the level of professional way down in all documentaries.Edit: im referring to the clownish word salad babbling woman
