    Hi, when using your 3D print unit, how would one alter the laser beam focus without taking the 3D print unit off? 0:26…ahh! I have just realised the module you are demonstrating is for the 40 modules (do you not have to adjust the focus on this one?) I have the N40630 module so this would be no good for mine. Sorry for the confusion..I am pretty new to all this.

      Hi, Sherry Burns; thank you for your comment.
      I have just uploaded the nozzle for your module.
      whathowwhysolution.com/air-nozzle-for-neje-n40630-laser-module/
      Regarding the adjustment, I normally leave the focus at a fixed position.
      I left space inside so the lens that can be extended, but you need to uninstall and reinstall the nozzle each time.
      Ciao

      Hello SHSN - The Creative Space w/ Lady Hale, thank you for your comment.
      I believe that if you are in the hobby world and like to put your hands on DYI a small cheap 3D printer is a good companion to have. Also, 3D modelling is getting ever so simple than when I first started about 10 years ago.
      In regards to the nozzle, I just ordered the metal one sold by NEJE so I can compare them to see if I notice some difference.

    Hi,
    Bought Neje 3 max a40640 last week and while assembling it found it is really impossible to fit the air assit module supplied with it where required screws had not been supplied to add more to the confusion.
    While searching the way out came across your video and found that the custom module of height adjusts and air assist is a must instead of the conventional ones supplied with the machine.
    I would be grateful if you can help me in procuring these modules which I could not find on online shops.
    I am from India.
    regards
    alok

      Hi Alok K Goyal, thank you for your comment.
      That sounds interesting.
      I received the block sold by Neje last week, but I haven't opened it yet, I will need to try what is wrong with it.
      I am not sure to understand the modules you are looking for, but I guess you are asking for the 3D printable nozzle or block which is in the video's description, but I am pasting the link down
      Download the 3D printable block from
      whathowwhysolution.com/air-nozzle-for-neje-a40640-laser-module/
      I hope it helps

    I'm really depressed watching your video over and over again, and seeing the result you get with your air assist. I've been trying to print mine with no success (bad 3d printer) and I finally bought the one offered on neje's shop, which is similar to yours but in metal, only there is no space to place the o'ring, even though they provide 2 of them. I ended up placing the o'ring underneath and around the lens by unscrewing it a bit (which changed the focal length too so I had to readjust the height). In the end, the results are as bad as If I was not using air assist. I use an air compressor 2100l/h aco-208 40-120 liters.
    What am I doing wrong? Is my air compressor powerful enough?

      Hi, François S; thank you for your comments.
      I am sorry to hear about your frustration.
      Your compressor is more than capable for the purpose. Unfortunately, you are now facing issues with water condensing, getting in the way of your lens and blurring everything out, as result your line is thick and dark, not cutting through.
      I would suggest a water trap (like this s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DlQ9kYb) just before your laser to collect some of the water, but if the humidity is high, that might not be enough either.
      I have recently redesigned my nozzle to bypass the lens altogether, I will upload it on my website,. The new design will reduce the likelihood of water staining the lens.
      For now, I also suggest you clean the lens with some isopropyl alcohol and cotton puds to remove water stains from the lens.
      Let me know how it goes
      Ciao

    Hello, nice work, what is the metalic cutting mesh called ? where can I find one, instead of classic honeycomb one ? Thanks

    • @MiddleRoomWorkshop
      @MiddleRoomWorkshop  2 роки тому

      Hi, Sergiu Rocas; thank you for your comment.
      I have been using steel meshes for a very long time; you can find them in any hardware store; they are simple and cheap.
      The important is to choose one with a decent size of 10÷15mm in size and to be stiff enough so you can elevate it with a couple of wood blocks or anything that does the job.
      The jobs are clean but you will notice some small burning spots on the underside, due to reflection.
      The honeycomb board is a better choice but has always had a very high shipping cost, and many are discarding it because of that.
      Below I have a couple of links to some steel mesh, but again a local hardware store will have what you need, and the honeycomb that I have ordered recently.

    I have Neje master 2 max 40w, is it possible to upgrade only the laser module? if so, what laser module is suitable?

    • @MiddleRoomWorkshop
      @MiddleRoomWorkshop  2 роки тому

      Hi Samuel 661, thank you for your comment.
      Yes, you can upgrade the laser module, with pretty much any other module from Neje, except for the latest E80.
      When you buy a laser module you should check for the power supply needed, so if the module requires a higher current, you will need to buy the kit module plus a power brick.
      For the rest, you just need to swap them and it is pretty much all.
      Let me know if you need some support.
      Caio

      @@MiddleRoomWorkshop means I can only replace the laser module with the same voltage?

    • @MiddleRoomWorkshop
      @MiddleRoomWorkshop  2 роки тому

      Hi Samuel 661, thank you for your feedback.
      In short yes, in your specific case 12V laser modules, the current is drawn on demand by the driver.
      I hope it helps.

    Thank you for the video. How much psi do you use for the airassist?

    • @MiddleRoomWorkshop
      @MiddleRoomWorkshop  2 роки тому +1

      Hello Rein Niesing, thank you for your comment.
      In the demonstration, I was at about 44psi, but you can go higher than that if you need, I have been testing it up to 5bars or about 75psi and I had no problems, however beyond 20 to 30psi does the job.

    Is there a Gcode 3D print air nozzle for N40640?

      Hi Samuel 661, thank you for your comment.
      I guess you mean N40630, I can create the model for that, and upload it, it is just slightly offset compared to the A40640.
      I will send you the link to the file as soon as it is uploaded.

    Another good video, thanks for the good ideas.
    About your 3d printed part?
    Do you think it has much of an impact on cooling the module? It is blocking a few of the fins so far as I can see in the video.
    I'm going to take a look at your 3d printed part and possibly modify it for my own requirements, thanks for supplying the file. +1

      Hi Ian Philip, thank you for your comment and for subscribing to my channel.
      Free to edit my design to suit your needs :)
      I did consider the thermal impact on the nozzle during the design, the nozzle seats directly under the Diodes' chamber, and the only thing that could affect the module negatively is the loss of the small contact area, for the rest of the output stream is free.
      The design could be improved by adding a couple of groves over to the sides, to channel part of the flow in between the block and the module, or even to create internal capillaries to redirect part of the air from the compressor there.
      I additionally kept in mind the way to avoid return flow, resist flow from the cooling fan, or worse spin it in the opposit direction.
      Let me know
