    Another question....how would I make my own Ph adjusting solution using NaOH? What would the % be or better yet....how many grams of NaOH to Distilled water to make the adjusting solution?

    • @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401
      @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401  4 роки тому +3

      Hi Carol, for beginner chemists, I recommend a 10% NaOH solution. ALWAYS add the NaOH to water, never the water to NaOH. Add 10g NaOH to 90g water and stir till dissolved. Hope this helps, happy formulating! You may also enjoy this video: ua-cam.com/video/s0I7ZsGqUhk/v-deo.html

    my last amazon shpmt. vanished, so I'm going to try your method for skin cream. I am super allergic to some perfumes, additives, which I learned sampling free cosmetics as part of my work experience. Think I saw macademia product somwhere here, and just recently found out Probably not for me. It was a gift pkg. and my forearms and thighs developed the worst rash ever, weather was hot, I was driving for hours, etc....this rash lasted at least a full week ,was hidden, and caused absolutely no pain! Thanks for the ideas. I will look into this further. Well, it was a bit annoying as the damaged skin dried up, enuf said.

    Instead of sodium hydroxide what else can I use to raise the ph ?

    • @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401
      @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401  5 років тому +1

      You can use tromethamine to raise pH also. Sodium hydroxide is not caustic when used as a pH adjuster/buffer, it dissociates into its ions and is perfectly safe in a finished product if that is your concern.

      That's not a good choice, it is low HLB and won't stabilise your system. Please watch one of our other videos on creating emulsions or contact us to learn how to create your own formulas to suit your specific organisational needs, info@personalcarescience.com.au
