Could you eventually react to Nanbaka? I used to love trying to watch that anime as a kid on UA-cam (was pain and suffering because I didn't know copyright was a thing)
It is a pretty good anime to watch too honestly with humour, mystery, and also the fact that the characters are annoying and heinous yet lovable-looking criminals trying to escape from prison

The abilities Ainz used weren't spells. They are passive skills inherent to his race as an Overlord. They simply don't come up much because he usually turns them off. It's inconvenient to walk around and make friends when you paralyze people at a touch and give people heart attacks with your presence.
They're so strong that they even affect the Guardians.

@@Ozai75That was only because they were amplified by the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown, which he no longer carries around due to fear of losing it. He now uses a hollow replica of it.
Funny that Jircniv said that he feels like the most unlucky person in the world but he unknowingly made the best decision in all of Overlord. Jircniv was on the verge of being overthrown due to the Ainz situation and people losing faith in him but because Ainz thinks highly of him and that he submitted the Empire to him so willingly, the Empire became the most protected country in the world as its viewed as the country protected by Ainz Ooal Gown, as well as setting his own rule as Emperor in stone because going against Jircniv is viewed as antagonizing Ainz who has given him his full endorsement. A lot of these details have been left out and will be left out because of how the anime has adapted the novel. So ya long story short Jircniv made a brilliant move without realizing it at the time.
I believe he also lowered his workload and suffered less stress. Don't remember if he stopped losing hair but hoped his health improved 😊

If you didn't realize, the swords that Ains used in the fight were the ones that Clementine used against Momon.
Also Aura of Despair is a skill and not magic. Skills are allowed in the match since they are basically part of them.

When Brain faced Shalltear in S1 and witnessed the gap between their strengths, it broke his spirit. When Warrior King faced Ainz and witnessed the gap between their strengths, he was elated. A big difference in attitude :)
The Warrior King was in it to face strong opponents, not to back down when outmatched.
The big difference is the warrior king was bored because he couldn't find any decent opponents, so facing someone who overwhelmed him, gave him hope and made him want to be even stronger.
Brain on the other hand, had been bested by Gazef before, leading him to become a mercenary and forfeit everything else in life in order to get stronger to be able to defeat Gazef. Facing shaltear broke him because not only he was weaker than the man he wanted to defeat, he was utterly helpless against this for who didn't even try to fight him.
To be fair Ainz was holding back and have mutual respect ... Shalltear was playing lol.

Headhunter Rabbit is a mercenary from a nation to the east of the Karsanas City-State Alliance, he is a famous warrior and assassin. You might be thinking "he?" well Headhunter Rabbit is actually a guy, he dresses like a woman because it makes others underestimate him and become careless. It would also make his opponents not consider the option of attacking his groin.
And he looks very good in that outfit.

Fun fact, Ainz is secretly spying on jircniv to learn how to act as a ruler and kinda sees him as a friend and has goodwill towards him. It's also one of the reasons that the emperor has paranoia cause he feels that hes constantly being watched. Jokes on him but ainz didn't even know about his plan to get in contact with the priests.

To be fair, Jircniv *is* a good ruler and his reforms have greatly helped his empire. So he's not bad as someone to look up to, but yeah the poor guy doesn't know that. Hahah

That would also be through watching him constantly that he saw him schedule the meeting with the Theocracy and decided to visit the Empire at that specific timing. Yeah, I never bought into the idea that he's just an idiot that consistently acts as if he were a master schemer out of pure luck.
The series made it clear from the start that he has become his character body *and mind.* As an arcane spell caster, Intelligence would be his highest stat.

The part about Iä Shub-Niggurath being a once-in-ten-years trump card is obviously a lie. The cooldown for most/all super-tier spells is like 6 hours.
No. The cooldown is between the period of the start and end of the fight with Shalltear, presumably around 10 minutes. Along with the cooldown time it also can only be used 4 times a day (by a level 100)

Meh, it's fine. He is a master magic caster after all, it would be gauche to spam the same OP spell over and over again. It'll probably take him ten years to work his way through his repertoire of super-tier magic and come back to that spell again anyway.

Last thing I wanna mention is Jircniv cheering against Ainz. See at first Ainz actually liked it seeing Jircniv as someone passionate enough to cheer out loud like that for the Warrior King who's essentially the hometown hero it's like in a sports game and he saw Jircniv as cheering for his own team... Until he kept getting louder saying to finish Ainz off, Ainz thinking hold on bro aren't we cool? 💀

My only issue here is Gazef's strength. If him and Go Gin fought, Gazef would lose without doubt. Go Gin is way stronger because of his racial abilities and size.
If we consider skill alone, then yeah Gazef is stronger than Go Gin. Gazef's martial arts and fighting proficiency are Adamantite level, whereas Go Gin's techniques and martial arts are around silver-gold level.

That nullification thing that he enabled is the reason why nobody from this world has ever been able to harm him.
In game it prevents opponents below level 60 from causing you damage and that's basically everyone here.
He had it disabled during the fight so he was taking damage, but his hp was at such a level that it was impossible for him to die by accident.
Plus yeah, he was fighting with melee by copying a fighting style that didn't suit him with weapons he wasn't used to and no magic. It was the fairest fight he could make.
He was harmed by the angel Dominion Authority summoned by Nigun. Not a lot of damage from the 7th tier magic, but it did bypass his nullification.

Like how Demiurge's seemingly broken voice control thing only works on beings lvl 30 and below; which again fits pretty much everybody born in this world.

Titus, in addition to being chief librarian, is the chief translator of texts and is the primary producer of Magic Scrolls for all of Nazarick, which he can do with ample supply of materials thanks to Demiurge's happy farm.The Ashurbanipal is also where Ainz got the Book of the Dead from.
that brainwashing item would not work on Ainz because he always has a world level item with him. It's that red orb in his chest. That is also why the elfs had world level Items with them when he fought shalltear and that's also why Albedo had that staff with the black orb. To protect against other world level items.
The effects Ainz used in this fight were either skills or magic weapons (which are allowed). He didn't use any actual magic spells. His magic weapons are an idea he got from his fight with Clementine.
By the way, one oddity about Nazarick is that the Guardians are all very high level even though they are NPCs. Ainz couldn't relax in a real fight with Demiurge, Albedo or even Mare.
07:45 Many teleport spells in fiction are restricted to places you've already been. So outer space or volcanoes are mostly out.
Some don't have this restriction, but even with this in mind, it is indeed a powerful spell.
Just send someone to Kyouhukou or Neuronist and he's dealt with. If that's a strong fighter, send him to Cocytus or Shalltear.
They have mentioned in the show itself, you have to submit to the teleportation to work. All you have to do is think no and it doesn't work.

Two very interesting details from the novel that were cut from the anime was first after Jircniv proposed being a vassal state and Ainz left he told his subordinates there that he's going to announce to all the neighboring nations that they've become a vassal state of the Sorcerer Kingdom so that Ainz would have to accept it, and he said the next task is to make the nobility accept the vassalation. The second is detail is after telling them this he looked at Nimble and said they shouldn't look so sad because the upside is being a vassal state means they'll be under the Sorcerer King's protection thus the Empire will be safer than ever before. Jircniv was trying to look at the bright side of the moment 😅😅

Headhunter Rabbit has a passive ability to detect danger that they can't turn off and as you know Ainz is EXTREMELY dangerous so the Headhunter had to pluck the fur out of his hands to keep composure otherwise he would've either fainted or ran away.

The fighting style and the equipment Ainz used during his fight with the Warrior King is Clementine's techniques. Although he's not capable of releasing Martial Art skills, Ainz is observant and fast enough to copy Clementine's moves.
Racial Skills are allowed because many of them are passives that you can't turn off, like the trolls insanely high regen.
Overlords can weaken creatures by touching them and they also have Despair Aura which has 5 levels.
1. fear
2. confusion
3. panic
4. insanity
5. instant death
They have other skills, but these are the main 2 you will see.
There is a difference between magic and skills. For example, a trolls ability to regenerate is a racial skill, the same goes for what Ainz uses here.
When ainz uses video game terminology people just ignore it. After all races have different names for stuff so when he talks about hp people might think he is refering to vitality or power, when he says he is lvl 100 people might think is just another term for i am superior to everyone. Another fun fact touch-me is so overpowered he had to be nerfed in the light novel because in the web novel he could fight all guardians by himself and win.

I have to agree with you. Ains' outfit while fighting in the arena is his best, hands down.
I dunno, I'm with Shalltear on him fighting the adventurers dressed to move. Well, really I liked his robe because it was funny to see him walk out like a prizefighter, but he does have a very elegant skeleton and he really did look full-villain in that scene as he went full villain.

The high tier physical nullification was not a limiter on Ains. It was a skill Ains had that nullified all incoming physical attacks. That's why he could no-sell all the incoming attacks and not get batted around like a leaf in a hurricane by the Warrior King in his final flurry of attacks.
High tier physical nullification is a skill that completely negates any attack from an enemy that's below level 60. Ains had it turned of for this fight, but activated it when the warrior king asked him to. Then his attacks went from being "hit by pollen" to "hit by nothing", because they got completely negated.
This episode missed a crucial detail in why did Pluton Ainzach (E-Rantel’s guildmaster) gain so much respect for Ainz. It was in the scene where they were traveling by carriage on their way to Osk’s mansion. Ainzach was reluctant to go there, because the common enemy, fought in the Colosseum are undead, since they require no maintenance, or food, and can be stacked up indefinitely. This, in guildmaster’s mind would make Ainz want to take revenge for the undead.
To his surprise, Ainz tells him that, even though all of them are undead, they’re different species. Ainz says that his race is an Overlord, something not even heard of before in this world.
The weakest of Overlords are at lvl80. The ones in Nazarick, that serve in the library, are at least lvl90, possibly more, because they have more job levels, which help them work in the library.
He also tells Ainzach, that he does not hate humans, but sees humans as a resource that can be put to good use. But if there ever appears another Overlord class undead, he might outright hate all of the living beings and start massacring.
This is why, Ainz says, he needs adventurers. To scout out the world, to discover new lands and to search for potential dangers, that he can deal with for the sake of his nation.
This is why Ainzach is so into the idea of adventurers, since he now fears an undead on par with Ainz may roam around the world, massacring everyone left and right.
Ainz also tells the guildmaster, that if adventurers do meet some sort of a threat, they may be used as a first line defense, making them the part of their army of some sort, the conquerers of new lands. But being given the reason for this take previously, Ainzach is able to come in terms with this, since it would mean that these situations are more of a coincidence, than carefully planned affair.
Ainz was not faking during the match.
Usually Ainz (and likely most level 100 players) have passive skills that completely nullify attacks from enemies below a certain level.
He deactivated that passive for this fight to be "fair".
While he can take damage during this fight, its still negligible damage, but he can suffer from stagger, knock-back and so on.
His touch however reduces the strength of his target.
The Warrior King was already getting tired, and was weakened from Ainz his undead touch.
So Ainz knew that at this point the Warrior King was weakened enough to the point where he could safely ignore all his attacks, as they would not be strong enough to even scratch him at this point.
Even so they likely still did some damage (like 1 or 3 HP per hit)
This is why he removed his armor, in a attempt to overcome the weakening of his strength and agility, he ditched his armor to try and recuperate some of his speed while also forsaking all defense in favor of putting all in his offense.
When Ainz turned back on his passive High Tier Physical Nullification however, every attack got reduced to 0 and just deflected before even reaching him.
Know that his passives like High Tier Physical and Magical Nullification have pretty much always been active through most of the series, he only turned it off for this battle to put penalties on himself so the fight would not be boring for the viewers.
"Would that brainwashing item (Downfall of Castle and Country) work on Ainz?" Potentially yes, but actually no. If Ainz wasn't in possession of a world item, it would work on him. However he always has the red orb above his pelvis equipped, so that world item would counter the effects of another world item.
About what Ainz was thinking regarding the emperor cheering for the Warrior King.
He just thought that the emperor was a huge fan of the Warrior King, and it wasn't anything personal like wanting him dead.
But at the same time we was like "I get that you are a fan of the Warrior King, but I thought we were bros, you can cheer for me too." Hahahaha
I like that there is always one person that ask "but what if Ainz didn't mean anything by that and had no hidden agenda" but is immediately rebuked because how silly it would be XD
24:20 Ainz turned his low-level damage immunity skill back on. He had turned it off earlier to make the fight somewhat fairer for the Warrior King.
With the passive skill on, the Warrior King can’t even do damage since he isn’t high enough in level to clear the check.
Most players don’t take the immunity skill because it’s only effective against low-level players and mobs and provides no benefit against anyone who is level 60 or better (IIRC, the cap might be higher or lower).
Most players take a percentage reduction skill instead since it reduces damage from other high-level players.
However, in this setting, the immunity is the better skill since it doesn’t matter how many people you throw at Ainz-he won’t even take scratch damage from a million-man army of level ones. A percentage reduction skill would still leave players taking at least one point of damage per hit, so enough bodies could theoretically kill other players.

what ainz means as a utopia is that 'everybody is allowed to live' in his domain, not just humans but also different races.. he talk about it with the guildmaster on previous episode.. carrot and stick, carrot means good things and stick means bad things, he says that he wants to implement this kind of principle in his territory where he'll give 'carrot' to those who follows him and 'stick' to those who dont
in ancient times a power that enables you to cover more ground or travel farther distance in a short amount of time is considered one of most powerful tier of magic or spell. because it opens a lot of stretigical advances to war, economy, and land discovery(or what Ainz called the root meaning of adventuring) so having that kind of spell give you advantage over anything.
Ains bumbling about, having fun and having no clue about poletics while creating absolute chaos and nation shaking events is one of my absolute favorite parts of the show.
11:00 a colleague of mine has made the license for helicopters and he said, that that the starting procedure of 'older' ones is pretty peculiar, but the charter-company he is a pasrt of just got a brand new one. Which you basically just start up like a PC, push the 'on' button and the programming behind it all regulates everything until the turbine is running and ready to fly. The abilities Ainz used in this fight weren't magic, it's just a property of his body. Becoming an overlord (the highest form of lich in the game) means that his body is a conduit for negative energy. His touch alone is normally instant death to most living beings. He has kept this property of his body supressed for nearly the entire show up to this point, as it's very inconvinient to have everything you touch die.
Its not even his touch, its his aura. He eminates and aura of instant death

He used it before when fighting the workers in Nazarick's colosseum, and he used it again in this episode. It's an ability liches have in the third edition of D&D. Overlord is based on a mix of generic MMO and D&D 3.5 using the epic rule set.

It's a passive skill that makes him immune to attacks level 60 and below I think it was; he disabled for the fight (since it'd be unfair to keep it on), and he reactivated it in that moment to show the Warrior King a portion of his power.

ainz felt bad for using ainzach to relay informations between self and the merchant. and ainzach was weirded out how ainz just allowed the merchant to delay him, was expecting him to insist to meet immediately. when they meet they agree to have fight the next day.

when ainz meets with fluder. he is hyper paranoid about it ask him via msg if has done safety precautions and all that, but fluder hasnt rly, cuz limited amount of spells that can learn so cant go as crazy on support magic like ainz can. (i think i read that it is like 3 spells per level in the new world iirc?).
ppl in the new world are also paranoid about the msg spell and dun like using it much think can be intercepted too easily, so fluder always insisting to meet ainz directly.
ainz does a bunch of scrying on his room and all before entering his room through teleportation.
fluder has translation magic spell and is able to use that to slowly translate the text himself without the need of the glasses. suffice to say the book is just a lore book written by devs from when was just a game, so questionable how true content is now.
so he basically visited fluder a bunch of times in preparation for the fight with the martial lord get all the infos on him and has prep gear for the fight - had fluder put magic spells into the stilletos and such.
i love the rabbit man. it seems like they actually moved to e-rantel as there is some ppl later in the series that mentioning spotting a maid rabbit man walking through the streets of e-rantel. it might just be that the merchant moved to e-rantel and rabbit came along~
in the LN the merchant asks ainzs to remove his mask so that can see the face himself, underlining his mentality even more so then the anime do.

in overlord, there's alot of abilities you can use other than magic.. there's skills, magic items, buffs, cash drop items, and the new world's ability, martial arts.. what ainz probably use here are not his magic but his magic items and even buffs

1- You were almost right about Ainz's plans. We were right about it being a very comfortable life if you live under his rule, but wrong about it being a "long day" if not. If you aren't serving him and you do nothing against him, it's all good. He won't target you or anything. If you do something against him though, then it'll be a long day. The last on too, but it'll be very long indeed. So, just don't mess with him and you'll be good.
2- I don't think what we see is the beginning of a bromance like you said. Ainzach is impressed by Ainz's generosity because Ainz isn't acting like an undead at all. Normaly, undead just want to extinguish life, not train people so they'll have a better chance of surviving. Also, he is the sorcerer king, kings would normaly barge in and ask to be served, they won't plan a meeting with someone of lesser status. Ainz is really doing things in a peculiar way and it is so strange, Ainzsch can't help but be impressed with it.
3- That merchant wasn't really chill, he just had a good poker face. He had a full day to prepare himself and compose that mask so he wouldn't do something to anger the sorcerer king. The fact Ainz is an undead is already well known in the empire, so the shock value when he took off his mask was minimal too. The merchant was terrorised in reality. A good rule of thumb, if someone speak in such a chill and slow tone, the vast majority of time, they are controling their voice to hide something, often it'll be anger or fear. That's what happenned here.
4- When the rabbit boy show his hands, what you saw is how scared he was of Ainz all that time. He was so scarred he basicly ripped off his fur to calm himself.
5- Fun fact, overlord of death is Ainz's race. He isn't a skeleton, nor a lich, he is an overlord of death, shortened to simply overlord. But yeah, I agree, he really does look like the kind of name a kid would use in games.
6- Trolls regularly eat bones in that world, so the him eating Ainz's bones wouldn't be that strange. What he is aiming for though isn't the physical remainings of his enemies, it's the magical ones. Trolls think they'll get stronger by eating strong opponents because they'll injest their souls and mana.
7- Aura of despair isn't magic, it's a skill, the same as his draining touch. Those are racial skills everyone with the same race will learn, so he didn't break his promise. Asking him not to use those would be the same as asking a warrior not to use his martial arts.
8- I think you are mistaken here. Touch Me isn't the only one who could beat Ainz... Almost every players in the guild could do it. A lot of them were extremely powerful and made PvP build while Ainz made a full RP build. The reason why Ainz though about him during that scene is how he admire him. Touch Me did save him in game before they chose to build Ainz Aol Gown and he is the strongest player he know.
The difference of "skills" vs "magic" is that skills cost no mana and have a cooldown based on how powerful the skill is versus magic can be cast as long as you have the mana for it. The first season explains some of it when he casts super tier magic with shooting star ring against Shalltear, he explains it can only be cast 3 times per day with a long cooldown between casts and no mana consumption which makes it more equivalent to a skill than magic itself. Also another skill he used in season 1 against Shalltear "the goal of all life is death" is another powerful skill he has but it also has a 24 hour cooldown versus something like reality slash that can be constantly cast in exchange for mana.
A difficult option, but something that potentially could be a problem for Ainz would be if someone managed to steal his World item that he has on him and another then use a world item on him while he is taken off guard

To Ainz, Death Knights are mid-tier undead, fodder to serve as defenders, which is why he was disturbed the first time he summoned one in the new world, gave it an order, and it interpreted the order differently than he'd intended (running off to kill soldiers instead of staying by Ainz' side). Albedo, the Floor Guardian with the highest defense, and Cocytus with the highest attack power, could tank a dozen death knights by themselves, which probably means that they're equal to the God-Kin. You also have to remember that the "Gods" are from an earlier version of 'Yggdrasil', when the level cap might have been lower.
Death Knights are level 35. They're no threat at all to Ainz with his nullification skill, and also no threat to any of the guardians (who are also level 100). Doesn't matter how many there are.
The god-kin are almost certainly not a threat to any guardian either, but I have no clue what their levels are. Probably not too high if they can only take a hundred death knights each

I have a dungeon master who has a character similar to Ainz Ooal Gown But he's a vampire called "Lord of all" And can practically do everything that Ainz can. For example, somebody tried killing him with a sun spear. He goes huh that barely tickles. Grab the guy by the throat teleports to the bottom of the ocean, Let's go and Teleports back to his room. Then Pours himself a glass of wine and sits down. That was a bit Exciting, Now let's see what my adventurers are doing? Just to pass some time and not get bored.

"Super Chill" professional face of a merchant who has had 1 day to prepare his nerves. Suspects the Sorcerer King who is a known undead will be visiting in one day. Had his servants and body gaurds guide him in to his office. He probably had an escape plan prepared if his guard/servants were too spooked. What can a man do if the most powerful neighboring king who is an ally/friend of your own empire shows up for a meeting in one day.
He wasn't actually using any magic, as in Tier Magic/Spells, in the fight. Ainz was just using racial skills and the weapon effects, the same way the troll was using martial arts and his natural regeneration. Also, I don't know if you noticed but he was using Clementine's weapons (from season 1).
Regarding eating the bones. When I was out in Malaysia we took a route through an ancient tribal leaders graveyard. Lots of the grave pots had been unearthed and broken open. We asked if it was grave robbers etc. the guide looked and said nope. It was the Forrest pigs who smashed them open for the remnant bones (mineral treasures).

On the "isn't that magic?" question that has popped up a couple of times: Overlord very heavily borrows from Dungeons & Dragons' magic system. In DnD, magic can come in various forms such as magical items, magic that you cast and spell-like abilities. What Momonga promises was not to fight as a magic caster, i.e.: slinging magic spells at his opponent. Magical equipment is still fair game (though rare in the new world setting, magical arms and armour exist and powerful warriors make ready use of them when they have it) and his negative energy touch and Aura of Despair are racial or class skills which are akin to spell-like or supernatural abilities.
In YGGDRASIL (and the DnD inspiration) they're mechanically distinctly different things to magic spells, though for new world standards (or an audience that doesn't come with an understanding of DnD rules) it's really just a semantic difference though Momonga isn't doing this on purpose or in bad faith. This is also why Momonga is so incredibly interested in martial abilities, since that is a thing that didn't exist in YGGDRASIL (though it seems inspired by later optional DnD mechanics addendums of martial manouvers which is basically a warrior'y version of magic with special abilities so martial classes had other things to do than just whack the enemy hard and often).
Under the strict guidance of the Wizarding Kingdom, the Empire has now gone through several changes and reforms for things like the Adventurer's Guild being more open to races other than humans. The nation became much more dependent on the Wizarding Kingdom, using u- and exports for manual labor and agricultural labor. This also goes for their military use, with two of the Empire's Legion now being dismantled and replaced with undead borrowed from the Wizarding Kingdom. It ensures the Empire's continued loyalty to the Wizarding Kingdom, as they now hold a sizable portion of the undead within the Empire, and gives the knights who were traumatized during the events of the Katze Plains Massacre an early retirement.
This vassalage, in turn, ironically strengthened and solidified Jircniv's grip on the Empire, the fact that he now had the support of the terrifying Wizard King, and effectively shut down any form of opposition left in the Empire to his rule, removing an administrative burden gi. off the Emperor's shoulders and lightening his initial views of the Sorcerer King. Also, bringing his friends to his interactions with Quagoa leader Pe Rii, who went through a similar demoralization at the hands of the Sorcerer King and minions, made the two of them grow and made him slowly warm to equality. the pro-equality of the Wizarding Kingdom. of all races, as he began to see and accept the Demi-Human as an equal. The empire has magical items and food in abundance at low prices.
Season 4 opening is mostly teasing what's there, not really any spoilers on what's happening, just about who's gonna show up. If you're so curious and wanna watch the whole opening before finishing s4 it's fine, but might as well finish it first for better satisfaction

In this fight, Ainz and the Warrior king use their innate abilities, for Ainz it's the debuff aura and for Warrior king it's regeneration, those are not spells so it's not against the rules

The people are aware of levels, Brain laments that he got a level in cooking (which means that he'll never be as powerful a swordsman as he could have been), but I don't know if they're aware of health as a numerical value.
For the levels and HP comments, the guild cards give you information on stats so adventurers at the minimum know about those things and I'd assume anyone who fights would learn and get appraised.
As for what Ains was doing and if it's magic, the arena allowed power from your race, so the Troll could regenerate, Lizardmen would be able to use their tails and Ains could use his race resistance to damage and overwhelming negative energy to weaken foes at a touch. They're not spells he's casting really, they're just things he innately gets for being such a high level undead. If we take this another way, Shaltear gaining health from her attacks is part of her vampire thing, which is why even when her mana (which lets you use spells) was completely emptied, she could still drain health.
