      skilled labor at any shop is commonly 100.00 an hour or more, easy to see the cost.

    • @08tundra
      @08tundra 4 роки тому +3

      Still very pricey they maybe had $500 in material, I have personally done this 3 times to my last 3 coaches I know what it costs to get it done on a DIY fashion correctly. $6500 is a bit much I would think 3500-4000 would be fair.

    • @supersize75k5
      @supersize75k5 4 роки тому

      95Fummins I get you or I can do it cheaper. The key here is it’s done at a professional shop with skilled labor. Even at 100.00 an hour that’s 65 billable hours for the work if it was just for the labor. It also includes material.
      Overhead, labor, materials, building, Managment, insurance, utilities, worker’s comp, ss, taxes. As a small business owner myself I can understand the cost

    $10.5k for tile flooring is insane! This goes down like a residential home. Full flex mortar and epoxy grout for the flexing of the coach. $2,500.00 for materials at $5.00 per square foot. And two days to install. I hate to be a poop on your channel but I just about hit the floor when he quoted that price.

    Looks fantastic Andrew. I’m not a big fan of the floor tile but hey, that’s what is great, we don’t all have the same taste. If you like it then I love it!! You need to live with it not me. I’m remodeling my home right now and you may have made different choices than I have.

    Nice to know you dealt with the water issue. Big decision to make such a costly investment but you must feel that you can always recoup it should you decide to upgrade. The choices you made have given a sense of space and openness while the original wood always lends itself to a warm and comfy atmosphere. Each one has its place. When your project is complete you might add some personal items on the walls, etc to give a boost of color. Otherwise things can look tidy but can be a bit bland. But, of course, it is all a matter of personal preference.
    The Sadie closeups were really special .

    Not a fan of painted wood. I prefer natural colors. That said the white/grey concept is all the thing these days. I'm not sure I like the white/grey with the wall colors and upholstery being in the tans. The work itself is very nice and mat material is very cool.

    You are doing a terrific job with your video's. Keep it up. I hate being negative but (I am very glad for you with your redesign on your unit) I feel you did an injustice to the designers at Tiffen. You are the only one who has to be happy when you are spending your hard earned dollars. So congrats to you. I think you might be happier with one of the Prevosts or Newells you have previewed. You know you will end up with one. Like the Newell for $125,000. Good luck and stay well.

    I think the tile looks great. I especially like the entry and the use of woven vinyl. I do question the porcelain tile however. I have it in my motor home and over time it has developed cracks in many places due to the movement of the coach. As we are looking at redoing the floor, should this be a concern or is this a newer product that is less prone to cracking?

      i plan to make 1/4 cedar plank valences on the cheap - home depot has 8' packs of cedar 1/4 ,look inline at their website $24 gets you 48 board feet of 1/4 inch im using my existing L brackets and even the screws with a table saw and gorilla glue and TIME this custom look can be done very inexpensively and my whole interior ceiling in my newmar is this same 1/4 planking already so for me its a win win but even with a regular ceiling this is a sweet modern look -one could even burn in lettering or branding into these valances :)
