I find it quite comforting to know there are still young men like Jesse and Andrew out there working their butts off to make their way in the world. Keep it up, son.
Andrew has been doing this longer and he is the GOAT, but this video hit it out of the park, and you aren’t far behind. Having been through a series of Mother Nature catastrophes here in No Cal (huge fire, huge mudslide from floods off the fire, loss of seventy feet of 10” mainline on the side of a cliff above the slide, and a heavy snow that toppled hundreds of giant oak trees), the thought of adding the time and effort to video all of our battle against all of that is , well, daunting; and I appreciate more what you and Andrew are doing with your talents and efforts. It is really appreciated by those of us who love this stuff. Thanks to the both of you.
good job Jesse , jesse is my son and I taught him everything he knows lol not realy but I did start him out now I go to him for answers. i'm to old for this kind of work so it's up to him now and thanks Jesse for the link to my vids
Dan Wheeler: congrats Dan, judging by what we see here from Jesse, I’d say you were a great dad! I go to my boy for solutions now too, so I fully understand.
All I can say is WOW! to great young men who truly understand that the only way you become somebody in this world is by getting your hands dirty. A hard day of work never killed anybody. Andrew is my number1 guy so I'll make you # 2. New subscriber.
Great job. As a former Parts Counterman for a Navistar Dealership and a DIY Mechanic I can tell you have been around some Mechanics and a Shop before. Checking everything while it's open always helps prevent future problems. Good work on your Camera placement, lighting, and Narration. I'm sure we had a better view than you did most of the time and I did not envy you while lifting the Flywheel, Clutch, and other components in place. Nice to see Transmission was Safely secured to the Transmission Jack. Keep up the great work!
I drove a 4700 for 7 years, Love that truck. Super dependable, I think you got a great truck. Just finished the video, You are a Boss! Awesome work and get it done attitude..
I know Jack about truck and even less about how to repair them. But I really enjoyed watching you do the repair on the transmission. Thanks for sharing.
Just discovered your channel I watch Andrew all the time I am not a construction worker and don’t know anything about running heavy equipment or mechanics but I enjoy learning and watching these kinds of videos. You two guys are very similar thank you for the entertainment 👍
Finally, someone who uses locktight on their bolts. Good job Jesse. Done like pro. Those marks on the head of the bolts often tell you their torque using a chart that includes length of the bolt. I used to have that chart years ago.
I am another one who watches Andrew and now you have impressed me as you are another young man who knows what day it is. Also like Andrew, you are a hard worker. You guys restore my faith in young people. I have worked with so many that don't know which way is up.
Nice work. Really great build. I did VW trans when they were Beetles. A big red scotsman told me I would never fix it. Well - I fixed it and drove it down to his shop 2 days later. Thank you.
Fine job in past years did a good amount of that same gear replacement. A cowboy behind the wheel or a muddy foot that dropped the clutch, that with the combination of a bad pilot bearing shortened its life. But I was always happy finding this kinds of trucks. Easy repair and a quick turnaround on the money. In your case looks like you picked up a decent truck for the right money 💵. Great content 👍
When the sound went away in high gear I assumed it was related to the secondary shaft or counter shaft. Nice looking truck. Love those old Internationals.
Good looking truck,I drove one like that in 94/95 working for Johnson construction rocking driveways and pulling his float after i came home from the navy,i later gave up my C D Ls for a job in maintenance at the post office but i really missed that old truck, something different to do every day.Good video sir.
Jesse, i am obsessed with International (95 and older dt466) trucks! It's my dream to have one. Going to see one tomorrow. Really exciting to know how to change the clutch now :) thanks brother!
We had an 89 with a hiab and an 18' deck. I loved the truck! Laid many miles of pipe with it. I remember being new and there was a main break. They asked if I knew how to drive stick. No problems getting to the scene, then tried shutting off the ignition. I couldn't figure out why it would not shut off. Decided just to stall it, then figured out what the chrome T handle was for.
Just found your channel......It's like Camarata's, and really enjoy watching the work and repairs. Thank you for taking the time to upload your adventures.
I like that 4700 international, i am looking at one right now in Florida. but i can not afford it, she is real nice, like yours but it is blue and white. that is the way it goes i guess, i really like it. that is why i was looking at the video to see how hard it is to work on. it did not look that bad. i enjoyed your video. keep up the good work. maybe i will get lucky and own one.?.
Wow, that was impressive no shop to work in. 90% of my vehicles are standards and the last repair was a clutch plate on my Jetta and it wasn't cheap after watching your video I have a new perspective on what is involved
Good looking old truck. Nobody needs a brand new one to drive through mud holes and get beat to death with gravel and rock. You either do a lot of buying and selling equipment or you have an acre of it. Every time I watch a video you have a different excavator or skid steer.
Its good finding the issues , getting the parts and putting things right . Then driving it off down the road knowing you did it and did it right . Keep it up .
Pilot bushing goes into the crankshaft not the flywheel but good job and saved a ton of money. I love International trucks and you bought a nice one, thanx for posting.
17:01 Great video, the only concern with the space between the top of the flywheel bolt & the spring is to be sure & remember that distance will get closer as the clutch material wears down....just FYI, awesome truck you have now!!!!
You, I must say are by far one of the very best at explaining every little thing you do in great detail. Great Job and are now one of the first streamers I will be looking forward to seeing great things from. :)
Very nice job with you newer International Clutch job and your stump hook I agree that you might need a "tooth" welded on. You do excellent work. I wish that I had something like hook when I had to remove stumps in late 50's. You make my day and reminded of my father's work ethic

Watching you made me want to paint the box and fix up the interior while watching your video. You and Andrew Carmareta have a knack for making videos. I have done almost all the same things in the past and really cant now but; its great watching you guys work. Thanks
Bought an 80 Malibu V8 once with a serious engine knock and a hard starting problem. My first suspicion was the timing was off and the engine having a broken crankshaft. Turns out the guy I bought it from had replaced an old bad engine with another used engine, didn't shim the starter which resulted in the binding of the starter gear against the transmission flexplate (flywheel) causing several cracks which made a lot of noise. Had to pull the trans, replace the flexplate and shim the starter. Ran fine after that.
Don't forget to paint the name of your company on the side of it. I recall one video where Andrew got stopped and had to do it. I enjoy your videos, thank you.
Very good repair on your transmission, I have worked on many of these and the two cogs have a habit of dropping teeth and it is mainly the input shaft. As for the stuffed pilot bearing it normally causes two problems, one clutch shudder, two springing out of fifth gear. Many regards

A few helpful hints when working on medium duty and big trucks... The easiest and best way to pull a trans by far is to unbolt the trans from the bell housing, get it out then pull the bellhousing and clutch assy. off, do the reverse on reassembly. Also best to just drain the oil and pull the PTO off the trans, if you use a clean container and the oil is good you can always refill it later. And last...figure out which gear is direct, (1:1) if you have an overdrive trans it’ll be 1 before the highest, but in your case it’s 5th is direct. If the trans makes any kind of noise in every gear EXCEPT direct that means it’s an issue with the countershaft(s), as power goes straight through the trans and bypasses the countershaft(s) in direct gear. You make some Great videos, hopefully a few tips from a dummy like me that works on the big junk can be of help!
I will either people have opinions they also have asses. Most people are asses well. I think you did a fine job with the transmission. Considering that you did it under a shade tree and not in a modern workshop atmosphere. You’re saving a bunch.
Good job! But a rule of thumb remove all the gear assembly and pto to clean up and put fresh gear oil because there is a lot of little pieces of teeth from the gears all over the fluid. The pto has the tendency of becoming a caught trap for the all broken pieces getting in between moving parts and destroying the unit.
Nice truck you scored there. Good diagnostics and great repair. Seems to me thought that the noise goes away in fifth because you are not using the counter shaft for fifth. In fifth the input shaft is directly connected to the output shaft thereby eliminating the counter shaft and those missing teeth. Great video Oh and nice gift from dad too.
If you put couplers on the end away from the ball - it will fit over the shaft and provide a bit more and look better. Double female threaded pipe joint.

Good old IH truck,I hope Navistar will come to their senses and start building a good truck again,
I will either people have opinions they also have asses.
We believe you Ron, we all know how clean fresh your trucks are.😂😂 it will be nice to catching up on all missed video’s while in lockdown.💖🇦🇺
Nice work Jesse, good luck with the new truck.
Great Vidya Jesse. Tenacity defeats audacity every time. Cheers.
Good job it's run like a Cadillac as a one person you have a lot guts working alone man you are my hero
If you put couplers on the end away from the ball - it will fit over the shaft and provide a bit more and look better. Double female threaded pipe joint.
Nice truck. Sounds good and it looks like it's rust free.
Hi from the UK Jesse, I really enjoyed that, it's a beautiful old truck 😎.
Jesse's channel is so awesome, you deserve way more subscribers. Great work and video!
