Stunning area. Nice airplane. What a day. I would love the opportunity to fly Diamonds flagship. I learned in the original DA, DV, and HK series planes and motorglider. Great little airplanes.

As an Austrian citizen I do absolutely agree with you, but unfortunately most aviators prefer the engine's sound of music ;-)
How much space inside this aircraft cabin ? Is it narrower than in the car ? Or do you feel like you inside Volkswagen Polo ?
No, definately not like in a Polo - by the way I never sat in a VW Polo 😂... it really feels like in very comfortable SUV - really spacious. You have 2 seats in the front of course, 3 seats in the 2nd row and 2 more seats in the 3rd row!

My dream plane! I couldn’t tell when you panned to the rear window - is this a five or seven place configuration? Is one or the other more preferred in Europe? Thanks for the ride.
Hi Curtis! The D-IODE is a 7-seater configuration. I haven't seen many five place versions in Europe yet - maybe the DA62s with a max take off weight of 2.000 kg prefer a five place configuration (they must have a "G" after the German country prefix "D"). The others, with a max. take off weight of 2.300 kg, have to have a "I" after the Germany prefix :)

@@curtisccr Landing fees, handling costs, insurance ... everthing is cheaper in Europe and on some airfields you aren't even allowed not land above 2.000 kg t. o. mass ... that's why :-)

Do you have any idea what the actual running costs /hr would be for this? Obviously there are variables... but thinking this is a valid concept for our company if we could pull 300hrs a year
Here in Germany the running costs (without any purchase costs) are about 250 EURO per hour including: fuel, oil, maintenance, inspections, airwayfee for IFR - and addionally the Fix Costs of 40.000 EURO per year for: Hangar rent, CSL & hull insurance, ARC/CAMO, chart databases, cleaning, managementfee. Maybee in the US it would be cheaper due to lower fuel costs, etc. ...

Are those user-added markups on the MFD? (the traffic pattern and ALTs). I did not know G1000 could do that.
You can display any map that is integrated in the Garmin system - like this common VFR Approach Chart on the MFD. There is no user-added markup as far as I can see : )
Why use an external display with foreflight when you have a G1000 ? Does it have more info ?
It really makes sense! Markus is using his iPad with the "GARMIN Pilot"-software as second navigation tool. It is very helpful to have more charts and additional features available for planning purposes while maintaing situational awareness in real time - either on the iPad or on MFD (current flightplan, radar in heavy weather and so on). You ever saw a modern airliner cockpit with multiple flight displays? It is quite simular.

Doesn't this plane only have a single throttle control so you have to make a turn using Rudder and brakes?
No Dave, it has two throttle control levers - like any other twin engine aeroplane. It is absolutely necessary to manage each engine seperately, especially in case of an engine faliure. You can see the different power setting at the begining of the video on the "ENGINE LOAD INDICATOR" on the right MFD (Multi Function Display) top left, while the DA62 is turning on the ground.

THX Dani! The DA62 has a very robust undercarriage with big tires. The trailing-link gear helps with smooth landings and compensating rough surfaces.

It's amazing how these DA62s have 2.0l Diesel engines. Diamonds are the best!
Simple the best of its class! Not the engines only - the whole package works perfectly - we only miss a pressurized cabin ... XD

@@ocruces5584 Above 10.000 ft you use the oxygen masks or the more comfortable oxygen cannulas. Above 18.000 ft only masks are allowed.

Cool Gary! Hatte ich auch schon gemacht - leider ist die Performance der DA62 im MSFS 2020 ziemlich wirklichkeitsfremd. Das Teil braucht im Sim Vollgas um überhaupt vom Fleck zu kommen - die Beschleunigung ist erbärmlich... die Steigleistung ist völlig schräg ... Die Leistungsanzeige bleibt auf 100% nachdem die Leistung reduziert wurde und der Fuel-Flow zurückgeht ... und vieles mehr. In Wirklichkeit genügen 10% Leistung um die DA62 zum Rollen zu bringen. Die reale Beschleunigung bei 100% ist wirklich beachtlich (360 PS bei 2 t Masse) ... Trotzdem ist es nett am Sim mit der DA62 rumzufliegen und man kann die Platzrunde in Vilshofen sauber nachfliegen - vielleicht optimiert MS ja auch mal die Performance des Fliegers :-)
@@wolfgangkarner Ich finde ja die Cockpit Sicht sehr eingeschränkt bei der 2-Motorigen, mein Favorit ist die Jodel DR-400 :)
@@GaryX1001 Der Vergleich hinkt natürlich. In der Realität ist die Sicht in der DA62 super! Die Sim-Perspektive täuscht. Die Diamond ist ein volles IFR Flugzeug, die du bei JEDEM Wetter fliegen kannst und wo du auch noch schnell, sicher, bequem und effizient unterwegs bist. Hat schon "Verkehrsflieger"-Qualitäten wenn da nicht die Druckkabine fehlen würde ...

Was soll bei diesem touch-and-go spektakulär sein?
Zugegeben: Ich habe schon spektakulärere Anflüge mit der D-IODE hochgeladen (ua-cam.com/video/uCKWQZ7AcKg/v-deo.html). Aber definiere "spektakulär"! Falls du mit Begriffen wie: außergewöhnlich, beeindruckend, großartig für diese Szenerie nicht klarkommst, kannst uns ja gerne deine eigenen spektakulären Touch-and-gos hochladen und hier einen Link posten. Ich würde mich freuen : )
@@wolfgangkarner Für mich ist das eine ganz normale und gewöhnlich Landung. Ich habe eine ATPL/IR, Glider Licence etc, aber keine Profilneurose. Somit besteht meinerseits auch kein Bedarf was hochzuladen.
