Mini Cooper S Works vs BMW E36 M3 Nordschleife 23.4.2011

Dont quite get this one. Is the M3 acting as the Minis pace car? The M3 indicates left as if to let the Mini driver know he intends to overtake a car in front and each time the M3 pulls out a gap he then slows to allow the Mini to catch up. Is this a sighting lap for the Mini driver?

Depends on if you have the 3.0 or 3.2 too thats a 35 PS diffirence.

That is an E36 M3, exhaust is only on one side, it does not have dual exhaust.

It wouldn't really matter. Stock for stock the Mini will still win. If you were comparing the 3.2 E36 brand new, it might be a different story but between drive train loss and natural HP loss over the years, there will barely be a HP/weight difference. Pair that with the fact that this track is about handling and not top speed and it wouldn't be much of a competition.

That is not a M3 the blue bmw only has a pipe on one side of the car should have something om both sides

My wife has a Mini JCW and she could have passed the M3 after a few corners :)
The driver of the mini could have done the same and left the M3 driver in the distance!!

What the MINI lacks in all out power of the BMW is more than made up for in all the things it does so much better! The MINI is a lighter/tighter platform and has more than enough things going in it's favor such as cornering ability that it could walk the BMW!

I think this was no M3. See the Way the E46 M3 passes it. E36 and E46 schould be nealy no defference.

Hahhha Everyone are convinced that the M3 would beat the mini and that the M3 driver simly is shit. Well let me tell you what, the mini cooper probably hangs onto the road way better! And the mini cooper most likely arent original, you can get 220 out of them with pulley and exhaust upgrade only.

this mini is tuned i suspect because standard it only has 160 bhp and a 140mph top speed where as an M3 has over 200bhp and a 160mph top speed standard also i have to laugh at all the boy racers on the nurburgring they spend thousands tuning up old golfs and civics then get passed by a mini LOL

What the M has in a power advantage, the Mini makes up for it with far better suspension and weighing much less. The M may win in a straight line, but that is all. Not to mention that this Mini driver was really pretty awful...
