    I hit a lifetime deadlift PR today at age 53. Conventional, hook grip. I have picked up some great pointers from this channel.

    Great video as always Brendan. One thing I would suggest is to offer one off training plans without the coaching element, something akin to what Jeff Nippard does. Would love to buy a 16 week program and use it at my own pace without the monthly fee

    Damn man, 20 pounds in 4 years. That is patience. The 200+ pouns you put on your total speak volumes though

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  Рік тому +4

      Patient bulks are so important minus times you’re in a situation that warrants a faster gain. Generally speaking the totality of a bulk should average a .5-1% bodyweight change monthly. Now obviously depending on the phase of the bulk though, that number changes and over the course of time it averages out to that!

    Would you treat something like arm and shoulder training (i.e. bicep curls, lateral raises) similar to accessories and taper them off as you peak? Or would the impact on the CNS be too low to make a difference?

    @cleanestedits1 Рік тому

    Hey man just wanna say that you're videos are quality and underrated.
    I have a question. I'm competing at uspa nationals in july. I've recently done a peaking phase and I'm wondering what's next. I'm 16 weeks out.

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  Рік тому

      Thank you! That means a lot! Dude we have a 16 week program right now that will peak you big time for nats! Try our SBD program. This season is really hypertrophy and volume focussed too so it’ll be a great baseline builder for the peak.
      If you can’t afford the 45 a month then I’d recommend my submax DUP program that’s free but it doesn’t have a peak.

    Hey Brendan thanks for the content, Is season 10 fusion 4 or 5 days a week now? I recall you saying its 4 in one of your recent videos but it says 5 on the website

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  Рік тому +1

      4! Honestly I don’t like 5 day splits unless it’s incredibly specialized on body parts. They just tend to overwork the hormone system and produce less results. I only have two 1 on 1 clients on a 5 day split and they’re females who tolerate a ton of volume. I just don’t think most people should train 5 days a week unless there’s a really specific reason to.

    Would RPE be as important for our accessory exercises? For example, would it be detrimental if I took a small muscle (I.e shoulders or biceps) to muscular failure for 2-3 sets on most weeks of a program? It feels so wrong doing a sets of bicep curls at RPE 6, but what’s your opinion on this?

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  Рік тому

      Rpe 6 is a decently high rpe if you’re training with proper form. Most people start to curl with very slight momentum as they fatigue which allows the rpe to bleed out differently than a squat. Every single time I’ve had a client say volume is too low or RPEs too low I have them come train with me and then their arms want to fall off lol I actually have a video where I show that with a client. However with that said I regularly do isolation work rpe 8-10 especially arms I only go below 7 like once a block

    Do you time the bulks and cuts with your training phases too?

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  Рік тому

      Yes to an extent! I’ll do a video on this because it’s somewhat complex

    When power building what’s a good rep range on squat?

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  Рік тому +1

      All of them man! My strength days, 1-5, but sometimes I’ll even do backdown sets of 8 there. And my secondary days usually 6-10 but sometimes I go lower or higher. Generally though you can stick to those rep ranges on those given days

    How much of a calorie surplus is your bulk and how long are the mini cuts?

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  Рік тому

      Usually 250-500 calories a day! And mini cuts are never more than 4 weeks!

    Brendan, if someone offered you $20,000 to take on a pet cat for an entire year, would you do it?

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  Рік тому +5

      Oh bro I’d adopt a cat for free! I love all animals. I actually want cats but gotta find some rescues that are dog friendly. My dog scout does well with cats but I gotta see how Gaia is. I’m a huge animal lover. A dream for me would be to have a mini farm
