Cramming them all into hotels won't fix anything. Hotels cost millions in certified contractors and expensive machinery to maintain. The occupants won't take care of the hotel, which will eventually burn down or be condemned, and they'll be back to square 1 again.

They have been gone for 4 5 months. The new mayor did it. I live in the stout street lofts for 10 years. Thank you mayor Johnson for putting ppl in houses and hotels. Never judge someone living on the streets you never know what ppl has been through. Thank you mayor, now my daughter and my grandkids can walk the sidewalks with no campers on them. 22nd and stout has urban peak there. Urban peak helps out the run away kids whose been through sex assaults, child abuse, and no were else to go. The Colorado coalition for the homeless is on 2nd and stout. And they help ppl. Mission accomplished thanks to the new mayor. Now all those ppl posting videos of Denver with the homeless campers. Need to post Denver with no campers. There is no more campers, Denver Colorado did it. Denver is not the next San Francisco, San Francisco should be the next Denver. And get the campers off the streets. Today is June 13 2024. It’s been no campers for about 5 months, Downtown Denver has been Ressurected. So mote it be, Blessed are we, Blessed Be.
The problem is that the developers have bought out city councils and county commissioners country wide. They build $2000 a month apartments. But most people don't make enough to pay that much every month. We need affordable housing now. No further luxury apartments until affordable housing is 50% of what's out there!
In the UK, there is a requirement for developers to provide social housing and affordable housing on new estates. However, they find a way to wriggle out of their obligations. Once they have planning permission granted and have started the building work on site, they hire expensive consultants to show that the housing is not viable unless it is all private. If they appeal against this to the Planning Inspectorate, the local planning authority cannot afford to pay the developers' fees and compensation, and usually an amended scheme is approved. This is the standard scenario. I hope it is not as bad in the USA.
@@Lucienne-zz1sw it's worse. The licensing and zoning boards keep approving 'luxury homes', justifying that by saying that they will stimulate growth and further economic development. Most districts don't have a requirement for affordable housing at all.
Volunteer! Grab a hammer, build the housing, and then maintain the housing on behalf of the occupants for the rest of your life. The government can't and shouldn't do it for you.
I say we turn the homeless into something useful. Like can we recycle them into tires or something? Idc what they do as long as they dont exist anymore lol

I really wish City Of Calgary Alberts would deal with this issue. The homeless issue in Canada has also been left aside to the point Ive seen homeless camping in one of the landlords parking stall. Some have left and continue to leave there property behind on the adjacent propert. And its depressing me because I cant even find a landlord whom also isnt sketchy either.
Free bus tickets to San Francisco where they are super cool to the homeless
Moving the problem, not solving it.
Free? You think it's a free ride?
😡 It's the tax payers who pay for everything. Including housing and feeding all the illegal's
One way bus ticket! Yes Denver sent their homeless to Salt Lake City in the 1980's, until Denver got caught.
