Thank you for another great video Roger! I’ve never run a combine as all of our crops are for forage for dairy cows and replacements. Very interesting video, thank you again and have a Happy New Year!
Hey Roger, what a view! I've worked around several Combines growing up ( mostly Gleaners ) but never had the chance to actually operate one! Might have to purchase one now, lol! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching! Running an old combine is more art than science. You get no warning on when things are breaking down - you have to know the normal sounds and detect when things don’t sound right. On the other hand repairs are simple. Hope you can get one in the field.
No. But I did buy a quick tach feeder house that JD made for the 45after they stopped production. I plan on getting a 244 corn head at some point but will harvest my corn this year with a New Idea picker sheller.
My first combine was a 45EB I bought from my uncle when I was 14 😂 I wish I would have kept it.

I could watch that combine work for hours on end.
Roger I love watching your videos
Thanks for your video. Very nice 45, simple easy to work on, what ever went wrong you could fix it in the field. My first combine was John Deere 105.
Keep up the good job u do preserving our heritage! Ur old parts man from oxford.
Glad to hear from you!
Great looking jd 45 combine. Do you have a 2 row head to shell corn as well?

Great video! How did you plant your soybeans?
I use an old John Deere Van Brunt drill. You can go to my UTube channel and see it at work. Thanks for the compliment.
