Ebay spike air filter installed on 2008 vstar 1100 custom.

This is my rambling description of how I installed the spike air cleaner (available from ebay & Amazon) on a 2008 yamaha vstar 1100 custom. K&N NO LONGER MAKES THE FILTER THAT WOULD FIT THIS SPIKE, so just spray the filter with K&N oil, & you'll be fine. Also, you'll have to have appropriate jets in your carbs after installing this air cleaner. You can find jet kits on line pretty much anywhere, along with videos on how to plug them into your carbs. I realize this video stinks. I'm no pro at making videos; I'm a trucker, & I dig motorcycles. I just had a fit with air cleaner & couldn't find a video that really dumbed it down enough for me, so I assumed I wasn't the only one scratching his head about it. I hope this helps. Those things look good but they’re really a waste of money. Just do some pods and get rid of it altogether.
