- In this video we look at how to solve simultaneous equations by elimination. I hope you find this video on solving simultaneous equations using the elimination method helpful. If you have any questions about the math, just put them in the comments.
Thank you so much. My teacher rushes things and i dont understand what hes doing. You're a life saver
Glad you found it helpful!
Thank you .....am about to do an exam and had no idea bt now i understand it clearly....good work teacher
Glad to hear that!
Substituition method
4x + 2y = 24
2y = 24 - 4x ( ÷ 2)
y = 12 - 2x ---(1)
3x - 4y = 7 ---(2)
Subs (1) into (2)
3x - 4(12 - 2x) = 7
3x - 48 + 8x = 7
11x = 55
x = 5
Subs x = 5 into (1)
y = 12 - 2(5)
y = 2
Literally had a hard time learning substitution and elimination but thanks to you bro am all good ❤️
Great job!
Can you please do more equations you explain so well
I have a hard time understanding concepts and you teach so clearly, thank you so much.
Glad to hear that!
That was awesome..I really understand elimination now...go on making awesome simple videos like this..super cool.
This was sooooo helpful you just saved me 2 hours of brain storming and that also finding a vedio that matches with cbse thanks soo much
You're welcome!
I finally understand thank you so much
Glad it helped!
You are such a life saver....😅😅
thanks for your help and i appreciate
Thanks so much sir I'm about to write my exam and this seems to be very helpful u just earned yourself one more subscriber
Thanks and good luck on the exam, you got this!
Had a hard time understanding the elemination method but thanks to you this video helped me a lot 🙏🙏
You're a life saver ✌️🙏
Glad to hear that!
Thank you so much now I can solve my project🎉
Does elimination method work out all different equations?
Thanks for this video
Thank you very much sir! You really helped me a lot. God bless ❤👊
Happy to help :)
Best teacher ever ❤
Thank you soo much for explaining.. I have a math test tomorrow so I hope I remember these methods😢
Hope you went well!
You’re awesome 👏🏽
hi! i need answers stat!, after simplifying my question, i got 62 = 19x + 42y, how do i solve this?
Thank you sir so much 🙏 your are the best explainer and i understand it very well❤❤❤
Thank you! Glad it helped :)
Very good zooming and way of teaching I hv under stood the method.thank you God bless you.
Glad it was helpful!
❤❤thank you my teacher❤❤❤
thank u sir
alot
tq very much sir😊😊😊
Thank you so much am now starting to understand I have been so stressed about this
Glad you got it!
Thanks bruh , really appreciated 👍👍....guss I'm a do well in my test 😅😅
You got this!
thank you so much this helped me alot
I'm so glad!
What if it is positive and positive
It really helped thanks alot
Yes it was good
Thanks
Thank you so much 😀
You're welcome 😊
Tnx ur so great teacher my teacher is great but ican;t understand
Thanks alot man 😊
No problem 👍
Thank you🙏
You’re welcome 😊
What do you mean by subtract 15 from both sides when doing Y?
What you do to one side of an equation, you must do to the other, in order to keep the equation balansed. You can't just randomly take 15 off one side, you must do it to both sides.
Plz do more equations on that😢
انت الصح يبرو
Thanks for the video when my teacher is teaching I don't understand and she rushes it , and also could you add the graphical method
Glad it helped! I have actually done a video on the graphical method (solving by simultaneous equations by graphing), if you ever want to check if I've done a video, just search up the video topic followed by "piece of pi" :)
Thanks very much. Could you please solve this using matrices
You can solve it using matrices, I'll add it to the list of videos to make.
Thanks for the lesson.l wouldn't have been good in elimination method 😅❤❤
You're welcome 😊
Elimination means rid of one variable to get ax=b/a or ay=b/a.
ayo in elimination isn't it same sign subtraction? like when both the variable terms have the same coefficients AND the same sign(+ or -) you subtract them
How do i know what number to multiply by
When multiplying, you're aiming to pick a number that makes the coefficient's the same in both equations. For example, say in equation 1: you have 2y, but in equation 2: you have 4y. Then you would multiply equation 1 by 2 in order to make both equations have 4y. That way you can subtract one equation from the other and cancel the y's out. Hope this helps :)
So how to know what number to divide your equation by
You want to perform an operation to the entire equation so that the coefficient of one of the variables in both equations (number in front of the letter) *is the same* . That way, you can *subtract one equation from the other so they cancel out* .
cheers
Excellent
Thanks!
How can I solve this equation
2x-y/2=3
X/9-x/3=-4/9
watch the video
thanks
You're welcome!
Hello sir is it possible to get a decimal as answer please respond
Yes, it is possible for some of the harder questions. However, if you prefer, you can often write your answer as a fraction. So say you get 0.5, that is the same as 1/2.
Pi, sir it's understand❤
🙂
Thanks soo much but am confused on how you found -4y=-8
If u subtract 15 from 7 it gives you -8. So we were looking for -4y we didn’t remove that then he went on and divided it by -4 and he got his answer which was 2
Wow
So easy
Thanks a lot 😊
How do I hug you through the screen? I have an exam tomorrow and it's night and I haven't opened the textbook.
hahah, good luck on the exam, you'll crush it :)
Your the best maths teacher
Glad you think so!
Pls solve this 3x+2y=0
4x+7y=5
Hey thx amn
No worries!
why is
15 - 4y = 7
-4y = -8 ( why is it negative 8 instead of positive 8 )
timestamp 3:52
So to get rid of the 15 we subtract 15.
What we do to one side we do to the other.
Therefore, the other side becomes 7-15=-8
Or if you want to go back further: 15-15-4y=7-15 --> -4y=-8
@@pieceofpii thank you
Thank you so much, from this video I finally stopped scratching my head
Sir no understanding kannada explain please sir
Thanks bro, i found it very helpfull. Tomorrow is my exam, ✌🏻
Hey, i think your answer was wrong
Cause I solved it and I got x = 7 and y = -2
I just double-checked, not sure how you got x=7 and y=-2 sorry.
@@pieceofpii Ok Got it!
Please the video was not efficient shoot a new one
