- Today I will replace not repair an very expensive part , the instrument cluster on a BMW 7 series G11 , the problem is tat if the inside temperature will rise the instrument panel will go off , I suspect that the processor is the blame more exactly cold joints .
the repair is done on the owner expenses so the old cluster will be returned to the owner ( and I wont have access to make the autopsy :D and see if I can fin the problem ) , the price of the new part is around 2400 Dollars ! . but in the end everything was perfect !

Maybe next one, but is not something complicated and I'm 99% that is a bad connection at the processor and for that will need a special rebelling tool and equipment

A quick question... The original cluster was getting too hot and there was also an indirect ventilation error that persisted. There are several air ducts behind the various instrument panels, as you had shown. Could the ventilation or flap fault not have caused the problem with the cluster in the first place?
Hello, no, the main failure was the new generation solder used in all electronics not only in this cluster, new generation solder that is widout lead but unfortunately, the new generation of solder is cracking very fast and creative cold soldering

Salut! Nu e laptop e o tableta HP x2 g4, am gasit foarte greu acel case , norocul meu e ca era defect si nu sa vandut mai demult , si asa am pus eu mana pe el , defect avea o ureche de prindere rupta de la piciorul din spate care am rezolvato 😀 . E produsa de UAG

Superbly done, any reason why not coding with ISTA+ directly? Not an expert, just asking...isn't ISTA+ supposed to be able to code that cluster? Anyway i'm really enjoying your videos, keep up the good work!
ista+ will program and code all the modules in the car and there is a big chance to put the navigation in antitheft , because the ilevel of the car is older than the ista that I have, you can do individually coding only if the ilevel of the car matches the ilevel of ista. otherwise ista won't let you to select or deselect for code or programming individual module. maybe I will do a video about this in future

salut Ovidiu, am in g30 si cand e cald afara numai porneste dash-ul deloc.... cand se raceste masina porneste din nou si merge perfect... masina merge cu dash-ul complet oprit... ce as putea sa fac? pare o chestie de racire sau soft...daca las masina in soare nu porneste bordul deloc

I have a F45 from 2019 without ambient light i would like to make at least light line in the doors and central panel ... do you think it1s possible... i already bought and install all plugs and doors pannels from over car older than mine (2016)... but it did not work .. can you pls advice me something... Hello , you need to do a retrofit. to add wiring... and so on, if is complicated I advise you to search for someone that is able to do that .

Salut, Am facut un copy paste cu raspunsul meu la aceiasi dilema / intrebare pusa de altcineva :) : I don't' think so, because these cars are equipped with climate control and if you use the climate at full hot (in the winter) the air temperature won't exceed 35°C or 95°F , the normal working temperature for a processor is 40-65°C (or 104-149°F)

Hello, no reason! ideally is to send the car in sleep mod when disconnecting but even so when connecting a module, the car will be woken up , and above all I have everything needed in case something goes bad . :D

First BMW have always kept the same type or idea of construction... and once you know them, even if it is new and looks different, it has the same concept and seems logical to you. and for everything else that is new to me I take my necessary information's from TiS (Technical Information System) even in ista is so much information , the only catch is to read it :D
And about the new electric generation, for me personally as an Electric and Electronics specialist will be the same.

Mi a cqzut și mie cel full digital la g30 an 2017 la 150 kkm ,a trebuit să cumpăr altul .Exact la fel se montează ca și la g11 .Se pare că e o problemă destul de comună la G uri

Maybe in the trunk :))) ! I mean if you are able do some modification to physically fit and after that you are able to built a CAN transceiver to transform and translate the can information, maybe ...Maybe then you will be able to mount them!!

Isn't this covered by the warranty? Insane that apparently BMW makes the cluster not heated proof
This car is long out of warranty.
Why you changed this instrument cluster what was the problem with that
I told why , but if you have skipped in thru the video you have lost it . the cluster will stop working when is hot !
