So this is a quick run down of mostly the features I feel are a must have for knife sharpening and I show a few examples of things you will see. I will do a more detailed video on how I use it. I could also do it as a start to finish knife sharpening walk through if some feel that would be helpful. Let me know in the comments what you would like to see in a more in depth dive into the use of the microscope and knife sharpening.
Well done Paul
Well done paul
Thank you for this video! I am “Legally Blind” and because I only have one good eye, I cannot focus on small objects like the measurements on my Tape Measure. My hopes are that this scope will be helpful in many ways for doing fine measurements in the future.
Well done, Paul. Very informative.
Exactly what I was looking for to get a better view of customer knife edges after sharpening. This will help improve my sharpening skills. Bought it! Thanks!
Yes it's a great way to be sure you are hitting the apex on each knife you sharpen and also helpful in honing and finding small chips not visible to the naked eye.
Great video, lots of practical advice on a microscope for sharpening.
outstanding Thank You
Nice informative video.
Great microscope for the price.
Thanks so much. This is crazy helpful.
You're very welcome!
Thank you for this video.
It's just what i'm searching to improve my sharpenning skills.
Preciously of this video i thought that i have to buy expensive microscope to get am idea of what i'm doing with the edge..
no just a $30 one helps a tun
Thank you.
Many thanks, good info placed an order.
Awesome! Glad you like it. It's a great way to take a lot of the guess work out of sharpening and saves time.
Great video. I appreciate you good practical advice.
Thanks I actually had to order a new one that should be in today. my fault I accidentally knocked mine off my work bench and my shop has a cement floor and it broke so I am trying one from this same company that’s higher definition and will do a review of it ASAP. I want to also look at some higher end ones again soon. Unfortunately there is a lot of junk out there when it comes to digital hand held micro scopes. This time I did get a insurance for 3 years for only a few extra bucks. So if I drop it I should be ok also may look to getting some rubber flooring or kitchen Matt that probably would have saved mine if it didn’t fall directly on cement.
@@ALXSHARPEN I'll look forward for the review. It does seem like there are so many that are unusable for sharpening.
Thank you for sharing this info
You are so welcome
Thanks Paul, I'm fairly new to sharpening, using the T8 and have been using my iPhone magnifier to look at edges. This looks like a must better solution, especially for old eyes.
Agree if you don’t have great vision digital microscope can be a big help
That looks like a great microscope. Good review Paul. Thanks!
I will have to do more in depth with it because of how great the images from it are. It has a shroud that protects the lens from reflections and that really is great for knives. it also can take 30 mm filters so I am going to try a circular polarizing lens on it and see if that makes it even better for mirrored knife edges.
@@ALXSHARPEN Great! Please post your findings.
I’m also starting to sharpen. No one sharpens in town and 15 miles away there is only one in a town of 60k, so I think the market is there.
Thats always a nice bonus
Xclnt, thank you!
Hey buddy.... so I just came across your channel and I did subscribe. I wanted to know if you have tried to connect this to a 4k smart tv ? Great video..... great help!!!
No I haven’t just the computer monitor
Is shaving hair on my arm the best test for how sharpe a knife is?
Is Cutting paper too ambigious?
I think the very best test is a paper cut on Uline Catalog pages that's my preference. Hair splitting is a good extreme test but most knives don't need to be that sharp. I sharpen too many things to use hair I wouldn't have any left on my body...LOL
Anti glare light
Sorry, please, less bla bla bla
Go find negativity elsewhere plz.
