I really like the rode here based on your video especially on our case. We do streaming church services a lot. I have 2 DJI drones, neo and mini 4 pro. And obviously a lot of people will say go for DJI mic 2. I still need to find a video that tested rode wireless pro with the DJI drones. What is your thoughts on this? I am your new subscriber anyway. I like your comparison. Very straightforward ang honest. 😊

Let us know if you get to test the DJI Mini 4 pro with the RODE Wireless Pro, I dont have a drone to test it with but I know that you can use the USB-C input to add external wireless Mics to the controller.

@@Featherlightstudio Thanks Mate. I will order the rode now and will test. Sounds interesting. I saw a video that a DJI mic 2 sync to DJI fly app via Bluetooth but the quality aren’t that good.

@Featherlightstudio Thanks for the review. Shill-tubers are making it really difficult for me to choose a system to go with.
You mentioned the microphones and preamps in relation to clipping. Did you test the systems in this regard?
I record moto-vloggs and sometimes bike races where the amplitude can get quite high. I was using a Zoom H5 with 24 bit in the past but with static gain it did not allow me to set gain in a way to hear the exhaust (basically 120db from 6feet away) without clipping and also from far away. I hope the 32bit allows for more room to recover the lows. A two mic setup with different gain might be the right play but also adds too much bulk to my current 1-Bag setup for traveling .

It was exactly the same for me as well, SO hard to find a real review when your trying to purchase something and just want straight answers.
The test I did for the mics showed quite high SPL (120dB) and the preamps were well matched to that input. I think the 32bit float would be a great choice for you if your anywhere near that SPL range and you dot and the extra sync in post.

Fantastic video...yep...as a videographer, I use sennheisser G3 lav mics and sometimes I get some RF interferance and I was thinking that as a back up I could use the DJI mic 2 (the newer) with a lavalier so that I have the Sennheisser and the DJI on the groom for example and I would record on the DJI internally while receving a signal in to my camera (I have 4 channels of audio)- I know that the Rode is very similar to DJI. I wonder which one has better quality wirelessly? My Sennheiser G3 are solid (most of the times). I know I could get a Tascam Dr 10L or a Zoom F2 to record into the unit, but a reliable wireless kit is always good to have. Thoughts?

I found the Rode and the DJI to be very similar in wireless transmission quality as long as both units were well within their stated distances. Being both 2.4Gh bands, they are limited to line of sight performance compared to your G3 UHF systems however. Big bonus of the RODE is that it can be used as a standalone 32 Bit float recorder, like the Tascam, the DJI cannot.

@@Featherlightstudio I guess the DJI is a bit easier to use due to its touch screen...I don't want to be relying on apps etc in the middle of a shoot...hmm...some reviewers also feel that the optional DJI lavalier mic is not very good and even suggest to get the Rode lavalier that comes with the RODE system! that add about $100 or so to the cost of the DJI (I would need a lavalier)...I'm attracted to the 32 bit float recording capabilities...I wish the price was lower! Thanks for the reply

Wireless micros sucks. I can hear them
Using a recorder, such as zoom F2.

The RODE can be used as a stand alone 32bit float recorder.

I wish I could travel with a dedicated sound system but it's not practical for run and good shooting or vlogging. Used to have a zoom H5 but figured out the downsides quite quickly. Syncing audio in post, the additional size and weight and not being able to charge via USBC adds lots of bulk to the system. Strapping it to your camera isn't an option either. Still miss phantom power though. As a Audiophile myself I hate to admit that convenience won the case for me.
