chunky monkey is right. That's me playing my self-made resophonic geetar. It's a true hybrid of both National and Dobro brand resophonics. So, I call it a Nobro. National + Dobro = Nobro. I play finger style and use a propeller shaft bearing for a slide.
It's been great finding my musical efforts for this soundtrack posted here on YT. I don't play video games and wouldn't have never had the chance to actually hear how my parts were used in the mix. I especially like how the music director mixed this piece, with the additional drones accompanying my playing.
He liked my foot tapping along as I play. I can't stop my foot. It has a mind of its own. So, he made sure to stick a mic down by my foot, to capture that sound and add it to the mix.
I was also invited to play musical saw for the Dark Carnival theme. Thanks for lendin an ear. Sawwwwwyalater
I live in the South (Texas, Gulf Coast) and can verify that yes, storms really are that sudden here.

Definitely the best menu theme. It really sounds like the "south" side of Left 4 Dead's story.
There was this one time in life that I was soo addicted to l4d2. Me and my brother played it for hours and messed about and all the awesome stuff.( ellis's stories still make me laugh) when I listen to this im like oh the feels. This track is so amazing with a hind of death darkness and loneliness. Its EPIC.

@@pauldee7504, thank you for that comment but I was just a cog in the much larger machine of artistic input by so many other musical artists that helped to produce the soundtrack. I was and still am thrilled to have had a part to play in the mix.
Left 4 dead series really has one of the greatest soundtracks. So atmospheric and perfect.
I think this song is my favourite out of these themes for the levels.

this is prefect for a hard rain cinematic where every time there's a ten second pause we flashback either to the future or the present when they first arrived
I love all the intro songs from the first and second one! This is one is in my top fav! I call it "Zombie Stomp" Cause I can imagine a Hunter and Smoker playing instruments while the other guys are like stamping their feet with the drum bass rhythm
holy shit I am VERY late but, that foot tapping is actually the person playing the guitar! he just can't stop his foot from tapping, so they just put a mic near his foot, and that acts as some sort of bass to the song. sorry for the necro, though!

I was originally invited to play musical saw for the Dark Carnival theme of the soundtrack. But when he mentioned that the game was set in the Deep South, home of the Blues, I mentioned that I also played bottleneck slide and was asked to offer some guitar for the project.
