Ynot_44 sane here bro, it’s almost like the fact that all our amazing memories with this game are gone and in the past now while the dreary melody itself just makes it even more depressing. It all just makes it the perfect piece of music to listen to when you’re sad
Instead of the dark, hollow and rainy theme of L4D1, the second game created a more deserted, but somehow still hopeful atmosphere to the game, which fits the location the game took place(the south). They are both great in their unique ways
Hard Rain is my personal favourite. The idea of using dobro guitar for soundtrack made this even better. An abandoned sugarmill in the deep south while rain just prevents visibility creates amazing atmosphere.

Wow! I just stumbled upon this! This is fantastic! That's me, playing musical saw during the Dark Carnival theme! And that's me again, playing bottleneck slide, on my self-made Nobro resophonic guitar, during the Hard Rain theme. I developed that bottleneck slide arrangement during my eight hours in the studio, recording this and other parts for the soundtrack. I'm not a gamer. So, I've never played the game, or heard how my musical contributions were used in this project, until now. No one has ever offered me a copy of the soundtrack and I never thought that I'd ever get the chance to hear what I had done. Thank you for sharing this!
I've never played either of the games, as a gamer. And, I did not mean to intimate that I was completely responsible for the melody. I was directed by the composer as to to what to offer melodically but he is not a bottleneck slide guitarist and I am. I took his composition and interpreted it, using my approach and style of playing guitar.
you played all of those instruments and they didn't even offer you a CD of all the songs?! WTF?!?!?!?! They didn't even give you a copy lf the game??? Man, now that is fucked up. I listened to these themes so many times I never heard music so real in my life. Zombie instrumental music out there sucks its ether too silly or too scary. No creativity whatsoever. How you played those instruments was truly beautiful.
This is such an awesome theme. So haunting and beautiful and perfectly establishes the mood of the game. The way it's arranged in a totally different style that reflects each map while still retaining its core attributes is ingenious. Great job Mike Morasky (he's the composer).
hearing these sounds makes me think of titles for them. 1: dead in the mall center 2: clownphobia 3: under mud and blood 4: drowned by the rain 5: massive funeral The Parish intro look like a funeral song, and the Dark Carnival look like a zombie clown concert .
I like how they all share the same theme and if you haven’t noticed the Blood Harvest poster is behind the Dark Carnival one and the Death Toll one is behind Hard Rain...they didn’t have to do Left 4 Dead 1 survivors like that. My favorite is The Parish!
They're all so amazing, but with The Parish, you truly get that feeling of desperation and hopelessness that should accompany a zombie apocalypse. The choice of the trumpet is perfect, since that particular chapter takes place in the heart of Louisiana, and by simply taking that upbeat, "Saints Come Marching In" trumpet, and turn it on its head by playing ominously slow and foreboding, you get this saddening masterpiece.
the thing I love about this, is how sober the song sounds and how it expresses traits and characteristics about the map with just a few instruments which fit the game PERFECTLY. Especially the banjo & harmonica
Why most people here does not like the Dead Center theme? Its nice, just like when you dead on versus mode or coop with friends... P.S I like the Hard Rain one though
I am surprised that no one here put parish on top. It transmits exhaustion and tension, which the last campaign truly should be like. It's very atmospheric. For Parish and Dark Carnival are on top

3. Dead center
4. Swamp fever
5. Dark carn-evil Damn clowns
Dead center is the most challenging on harder difficulty once in the mall double trouble
So you hate things huh
First time play: Oh, the music is so scary.
n times play: oh yeah. This is the sound of fun.
The parish is the best of all because it involves a question much more nostalgic than all ..
@@moxoyyy It's good *too* , but not better
The Parish, best official Valve campaign. That bridge level? So intense!
Ye that bridge feels a lot like the finale battle of the game, but we know than canonically it is cold stream is the final one
In memory of: Rochelle
Ellis
Dead center has the best song, its sounds like if the infection is starting to spread and like a scene in the city from a far distance away you can see explosions and buildings start to collapse and screaming.
I LOVE the art just as much as the music. It's perfect.
its been 12 years and no one reply on this :(
@@Yani_123 me gusta todo hasta hoy :)
A monument to the old days
From best to least:
1☆. Swamp Fever: Grungy and Dispirited.
2. Dark Carnival: Spooky yet Goofy.
3. Hard Rain: Creative and Catchy.
4. Dead Center: Like somebody just died.
5. The Parish: Alright but feels ordinary and uninspired. Would've mistaken it for the original theme.
Favorite campaign overall is obviously Dark Carnival. So memorable!
100% agreed man.
+Itheman123456789 Me the hard one's hehehehehehe Hard Rain and Swamp Fever.
Parish has the nice trumpet and brass instrument ensemble though.
Bad taste of music
@@airraan1692 Just because Hard Rain or The Parish isnt at the top of his list doesn't mean he has bad taste.
DLC Maps
The Passing: Weddings
Crash Course: ...
Cold Stream: The River Flood
I remember when you could only find games on the passing and now it’s almost impossible to find one
I love the level Hard Rain, and I love the Swamp Fever theme, it's so zombie fitting with that violin
Any 2021? Great job you've survive the hardest fight

Hard rain-
Coach:lefts go get the gas

Coach:no
Nick:there's not going to be gas. Watch
*After they found out Nick was right*
Rocell: next gas......two miles....well $h1t
Nick:told ya.
Coach:shutup Nick.
Gosh. I still remember playing with my friends in a computer club and a Tank was there. And then it was like :
- Bro, what's the epic music from?
- Idk...
And then we just hear screams like "WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT".
It was the Tank... *we lost our first campaign like that* 💀
Hard rain had to have been my favorite. With the fast pace and the bass as well make it sound sort of like, really badass country music
I ever tell you about the time me and my buddy Keith played Left 4 Dead 2 for the first time? Man we sat there all night slaying zombies and stuff.... man that was 13 years ago.....
@Kennford "Can you tell me a story when you shut up?"😂😂(Nick)
4:52 A worm never dies.
+Terry Murray welcome to the cult, my friend
Green Froggo Dirt to dirt.
Green Froggo I have yet to learn what that is
@@zeerex4539 it means that millions of worms die when it rains.
Hail Jerry, Wormessiah!
The Parish sounds like a funeral, the best one imo
This is a good theme for covid-19
10 years ago you were just having fun fighting infected with your brother on split screen. Now you realize how much both of you grown and will never get to experience that joy from playing left 4 dead together ever again.
we need a 3rd version :(
Swamp Fever:only cure is dying
Here to say that in 2021 this game is still as amazing as it was 11 years ago.
Bro my xbox 360 got ring of fucking death we need lfd on the Nintendo switch but value won't get there lazy asses up
Themes like this remind of that one time my buddy Keith and I...
Hard rain hits hard
