@B they have 2 different objectives when they fight because they possess different attributes, but skill-wise, they are just about neck and neck. Also, most of the greats can give up rounds in the first half and take over in the 2nd half of the fight.

@@DaveBoxing their objectives doesn’t change the fact Tank gets hit A LOT more than Stevenson does, he’s more defensively sound and can stay in close/mid range when he wants to with decent power
My buddy Los and I were talking about the Davis/Garcia fight, and Los said it plain 'he's young, we have to make allowances for him being young'. As Shawn discussed, Garcia had been living in the sun, and then he got in the ring with Davis, and the rain started. That's tough! So, like, I think he quit - but I feel like I understand *why* he quit, and I get it. The real question is can he allow this to humble him, and build from that - or is he going to lean into the waiting arms of his fanbase, and start yapping again.
That's the thing about lessons, you have to let them in.

I like shakur and tank i think it will be huge but id want to see shakur get a couple more fights under his belt hes still young and hasnt fought anyone close to tanks level yet.

I'd never heard of Skip Brown before but I'm convinced he's one of the best guests the Porter Way has ever had. Very well-spoken, inquisitive and shows a deep respect for fighters. This man would elevate the podcast if he were a regular co-host. Just a couple of notes for Shawn: 1) as always, you do an amazing job of giving us insight into the mindset of world class fighters but b) try to watch out for over-interjecting with "uh huh's" and "yeah's" while the guest is talking. I think it's great for normal everyday conversation because it shows the speaker you're following but it's distracting on podcasts. If you listen to seasoned interviewers, it seems as though they've almost trained themselves to process what someone is saying while being completely silent. I know you think of media as a craft and just wanted to offer some constructive criticism to give you something to work on.

Man Shawn I use to box at Hal Chernoff’s gym Main Street you make points only ppl in the ring well feel. The conversations building off the points you make will be more verbose if you have ppl to talk to that have been in the ring along with a passion for the sport

Liver shot feels like you are being choked by someone and can't catch your breath for like a quick five seconds. Boxers are warriors because most try to hide the pain and as a boxer too, I can't see their face trying to hide that pain. It's no joke. Different ppl recover from it differently.
I still think pitbull Cruz won that tank Davis fight tho no doubt , I have watched it 3 times n still Cruz won for me .

Shakur has arguably the highest IQ in boxing. He defeats Tank by decision. Like Shawn has said before, against whatever style or size of the opponent, Shakur finds a way to make the fighter fight Shakur’s fight.

After the Spence fight the more I hear Shawn talk the more I dislike his mindset. You’d think Shawn beat a handful of Hofers and is a boxing guru. That take at the 9:03 - 9:15 minute mark is just overly cringe and delusional. I’m not even hating when I say this, TPWP just isn’t entertaining or informative. It’s like a ham & cheese sandwich.
