    The fender models in the TMP sound better than QC and FM3, by a hair…and feel more authentic. The spring reverb is also amazing. This is where the unit shines, sound-wise.

    Great demo, thx for your insight. The TMP is a great unit, and with proper support IMO could set a new standard for modelers going forward.

    Thank you for your high quality review. I do disagree some about the tone. I've been a Fractal user since 2015 and this unit after an initial release is already really impressing me. It takes some work... but not as much as the Fractal units have taken me. I agree the high gain amps need a few firmware updates to get there; but I've been a Fender Amp user for decades and I can get Authentic tube feel Fender tones with not a whole lot of effort. Especially the Vibro King. I'm hoping Fender keeps moving forward with this solid little unit. I love it. Thank you sir!

    Thanks for the review of the TMP. When I got mine I first came to a similar conclusion . However, this changed drastically... I play since 50 year and had and have a wide range of tube amp and also the FM3 and Quad Cortex. When I compared the Fender amps from the TMP with the FM3 / QC it became very clear that the TMP is much better -especially when playing clean. With the FM3 and QC there is not really the same dynamic range as with an tube amp while the TMP behaves like the real thing. I confirmed this by comparing with a Deluxe Reverb and Princeton in the same room. What makes a big difference is also how you place the microphone and which one you choose. Playing through the new Fender TM FR12 I achieved the same sound and feel vs. the tube counterparts. With FM3 / QC it sounds good but thin and not enough dynamic range. Also with the non-Fender amps you get great results when being careful with the speaker set or by using external IRs (which I do). It is not perfect at all but it feels for me like playing my Fender amps. What more could I wish for. I play jazz, blues, classic rock, funk, bossa nova and flamenco. For amp reviews I recommend not to just play through the presets and make your own ones and compare to a real amp. It may be misleading otherwise, .....

      Yep! Paired with the fr12 I'm pretty happy with the range of clean and edge of breakup tones I've found so far... also does metal tones without any issues... not sure why people are so negative lol

    I was impressed by your video examples, and thought you were wise to use the appropriate guitar type for the styles of music you presented. I recently watched another TMP demo where the entire sample series was done with a stock Telecaster, because it’s such a common death metal guitar, right? It completely hog-tied the demo. Yours was much better. I was a bit surprised that your impressions weren’t more positive, as I really liked almost all of your examples. This is probably because I don’t use super high gain tones, and tend to ignore those sounds anyway. At any rate, thank you for a proper demo using proper instruments!

    Your conclusion pretty much reflects my experience so far. While I think the Fender amp models are quite good and the build quality and functionality seems top notch, the rest of the amp models and also the FX quality are not on par with AXE FX2/FM9, Helix or Quad Cortex (I have only little experience with the Kemper). It does get a little better using the TM Pro with the ToneMaster FR-12 Cabinet (which also works great with other modelers!), but still I ended up returning the TM Pro. Thinking about keeping the FR-12 though..

    I agree with the conclusion about the sound and amp models. If you pay this price for a unit, you also want to have a top notch sound. Currently this device is blown out of the water by the competition.

      The fender amp models are a bit better in the TMP than QC and FM3… I can definitely say that. It’s the non fender models that need work

    • @jonathanhguitar
      @jonathanhguitar 7 місяців тому

      @@algorithm007ify That I can agree on. It’s the same models that are in the GTX amps. Ah well every new product has its quirks at the start I guess :)

    • @willreed5977
      @willreed5977 7 місяців тому

      @@algorithm007ify I agree with you on the Fender models, having access to FM9, Helix, Kemper and hearing samples of the QC, the Kemper is the only one IMO, that gives the TMP competition on the Fender models. All the others need some refining. Still a great sounding intuitive unit with room to grow.

    Though TMP may not sound as authentic as the original hi-gain amps, the TMP is a module for young ears and the future. They don’t know the sound of our era and won’t care because this is what they will be use to and like. This sound will replace what we once knew!

    You’re the best review those Fender tone master pro , I’m personally stop by guitar center and try out , exactly what you’re just said , they’re only sound good themselves(Fender amps products) anything else ok ✅ too pricey , the main reason why I’m think of just because the Name

    The conclusion is point on. Always thought the same. I'm curious if they are able to level it up with future firmware

    • @Studiomanberlin
      @Studiomanberlin 7 місяців тому +1

      The conclusion is unfortunately not based on the right methodology. Try it by yourself and compare it to real fender amps. It is night and day in dynamics compared to Fractal and QC.

    Disagree on summary of tones. Have used most real amps/Fractal AXE FX/Helix/few others and according to what I'm hearing on these reviews-pedal show, Leon Todd, Fender, etc. The TMP is easily in the top 3 for value. I liked the Kemper when compared to several modelers/profilers but Fender is more updated and super close to high gain Kemper stuff. I choose TMP for what's out 2023.

    Great demo, but man it confirms I won’t be getting one. H
    Just to my old ears, it’s all high/mid high, almost zero low end on most all the amp demos, the only exception is maybe the very high gain ones. Playing was great and appreciated the format of the demo though.
