  • I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the defective products purchased from Hindware. We bought products of Hindware worth INR 22370 on Mar 8, 2018 & INR 46013 on May 11. 2018 from KM Parthasarathy & Sons, Calicut, Kerala
    The items in question are:
    EWC Extd Wall Mtg Etios Star White Hindware (Complaint No: GK 095451)
    Cistern Ethos Star White Hindware (Complaint No: GK 084128)
    Wash Basin Studio Star White Hindware (Complaint No: GK 095690)
    Our complaint was rejected with incorrect findings and false accusation.
    Sometime in July/Aug 2024 we noticed that water from the overhead tank was getting exhausted more often. Up on checking all the taps and bathrooms in our house, we found that a crack had appeared on the left side of the cistern in one of the bathroom and water was leaking through that crack. From the top only around 25% of the length of cistern had the crack and remaining length on the left side didn’t had a crack. We had difficulty in locating the bills and I have twin babies who were 6-7 months old then, due to all these issues where was a delay in filing the complaint. By the end of Nov 2024, the crack had reached the full length of the cistern. Finally on Nov 25, 2024 we raised the Complaint No: GK 084128 through a Hindware Executive. We had mentioned one more complaint to him regarding hairline cracks appearing on the Wash basin. A complaint ticket was not raised at that time, but it was raised when the technician visited our home for inspection. Hindware Technician visited my house on Nov 28, 204 to attend the complaints. While inspecting Cistern, he had noticed hairline cracks on the commode as well. He had raised another complaint for that with Complaint No: GK 095451. After examining both the items, Technician had confirmed that the cracks on the products are not due to any external damage as there is no such marks on the products. After that he examined the wash basin and raised complaint with Complaint No: GK 095690. The hairline cracks on wash basin was there for more than 1-2 years. Since there was no leakage, we didn’t raise a complaint at that time. Since we are raising the complaint for Cistern, we thought to file complaint for this as well so that the Technician can handle everything together instead of each visits. After examining the wash basin, Technician had confirmed that the cracks on the product are not due to any external damage as there is no such marks on the product. Hindware is giving 10 years of Warranty for all the three products that I have issue with. Technician had taken videos and photos of all these products mentioned above as proof of complaint for submitting to the company portal. On Dec 10, 2024 I got a call from the Hindware executive to inform that all three complaints was rejected by the Hindware company. The reason stated for rejection is “BROKEN”. As per them, that particular reason is given when the cracks are due to external damages. The Technician who visited in person and examined the defective products with his touch and feel had confirmed that there was no external damages on the product, but the person who examined the videos and photos sent by this technician came to the conclusion that the crack were due to external damage. This is a complete mockery of the warrant claim process and denying the consumer’s rights. Such behaviour is never expected from a company like Hindware. The rejection of our warranty claims based on incorrect findings and false accusations is unacceptable. We request a thorough re-evaluation of our complaints and the replacement of the defective products as per the warranty terms. We trust that Hindware will uphold its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction by addressing this issue promptly. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
