You probably figured it out by now but when you edit your custom settings make sure you hit the left button on D pad to exit and the camera will ask if you’d like to save changes made.
i want to make a VIDEO time lapse of the sunset with my XT-3. i want to shoot 4k 10 bit video in aperture priority like i can do with my Sony a7r2. then im going to speed up the video to get the smoothest movement. my question is, what settings to i have to enable/disable in order to have aperture priority in video so that as the light gets dimmer the shutter speed is automatically slowed so that i get a even flow of light over time?
when you shot the bracket mode, the 7 shots were taken so fast but it was really slow on mine. almost 4-5sec each shots even though I have followed all your settings. I wonder if my unit is defective?
Daniel Lim I would double check the drive mode and thenshutter speed as well. The darker the lighting you take the burst, the slower the shutter speeds will be.
Have you experienced an unresponsive or better stated LOCKED ISO setting with your Xt2 or Xt3? When all exposure settings are on AUTO and you move from one set of lightings conditions to another - i find that the ISO remains locked at the MAX of your Pre-set ISO 1, ISO 2 or ISO 3 and not measuring the light and selecting the best ISO setting as i expect. Any info on this you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
It’s not impossible, butI’ve never really noticed as I’m usually too focused on shooting. Are you shooting stills or video? I know there can be a potential for cameras to get hot during video shoots.
Sometimes sir. Do you recommend bring my xt3 to service center? When you set up your xt3 on this video did you feel warm sir or no warming happen to your xt3 body. I wish i can fix this becauae i love xt3 so much
so i got a problem, i can't shoot raw with my XT3 and i've looked all over the place to try and find how to change that. do you by any chance know why ?
Reggie Ballesteros same here but I always have mine in spot so just wasn’t sure if it really mattered. I know with spot you can turn on interlock spot metering in the menu which is what I have set.
Reggie Ballesteros thank you so much for your replies! Still learning the Fuji system. May I ask how you go about correct exposure? Do you keep your eye on the exposure compensation or histogram? Or both? I’m trying to figure out the best way to keep my exposure correct but keep a fast pace with my clients which are usually families with kids running around. Thanks
I use a combination of histogram and the highlight warning. I look at the histogram for shadow clipping and the highlight warning prevents any clipped highlights. I shoot in raw and try to keep ISO’s as low as possible. That’s about it
I don’t think any dslr or mirrorless camera has that capability. The best option you have is to shoot 4K and then pull still frames from the video footage in your editing software
Hahaha no bro I mean like the a6500 you could take a video and or take a photo on manual mode because there was a separate record button for that and the shutter button takes the stills is what I mean! Because I can’t seem to figure out if that exists on the Fuji
the internal battery/capacitor has been depleted. if you've stored your camera without the battery inside for an extended period of time, then the capacitor will die out. the capacitor is responsible for retaining the settings when you have to pop out a battery and pop a new one back in
I found an issue. I cannot activate focus speed when set to a custom function button while shooting SloMo and I have to menu dive to adjust the focusing speed. I like a smooth focus pull while shooting in 24 or 60 but that smooth pull becomes 10 seconds of OOF footage in SloMo 5X . does this happen to you?
Hmm, I haven’t tried it myself because I don’t set focus speed to a fn button. Seems like you can work around it tho by changing your focus speed prior to engaging slomo (?)
@@Reggiebphoto Yeah I was just wondering if you had a work around instead of menu diving since I saw the video you shot when your baby was born. Congratulations by the way!
@@Reggiebphoto I had to watch like 3 times to follow you because at first it was like why the heck he is jumping lol bec in XT-4 there is separate settings for video. I haven't gone out shooting but it seems very useful man. Keep up the good work.
mate can you make video about how to separate still and video settings. idk how to do it like sony because sony has dedicated 2 custom buttons. I can just swap from Manual (still) to custom dial 1 (4k 24p) and custom dial 2 (1080 120p) so fast. unlike with fuji. i need to adjust the SS ISO etc. i did use movie silent mode, it separated video and still settings, but it forces you to change the settings using touch screen. do you have any suggestion?
nerd Mike it doesn’t reduce performance. It just quickens the time it takes to manually select a point when using the joystick. When you change to any auto tracking modes it reverts back to using all 425 points. It’s a preference working style thing, I didn’t make the choice based on impact to performance or af soeed
Try it for yourself, reduce the points and use af-s single. It’s quicker to move around. Then change to af-s auto. It takes advantage of all 425 points again despite the setting change.
@@Reggiebphoto oh good! In the video I thought to have heard you change performance by using all 425 points. My bad. I sold my D610 still looking at xh1 or xt3, I prefer the xh1 but with af from T3.. On T3 only the af is the main point, nothing else to me.. 🤔😞
nerd Mike actually i checked it again and it does seem to use Less points when using the 117. BUT it’s still sensor wide. So I haven’t done formal tests to see if one works better for the other. I just personally manually select my points and scrolling across for 425 points takes way longer than 117 points. If that makes sense
Sorry last reply. So when using af-c single or af-s single it reduces the points you can select. When you use group or wide tracking mode it uses all the points even if you select the 117 option it’s grayed out which to me indicates it’s using everything available.sorru for the confusion
there is one. i just download the pdf to my phone just for quick referencing. if you have any questions or want an indetph explanation video of specific settings just let me know!
Coming from Olympus sure regret buying the x-t3 Watched the reviews and all the hype and got caught up and bought the x-t3 xt2 would have been better for me Or maybe the x-h1 Olympus has poor auto focus but the x-t3 misses focus too you have to have everything set just right. I was going for a lighter system x-t3 and 18-55mm 55-200mm. Less than 50 oz. I have xl hands my finger goes an inch past the shutter button. I'm 6'5" the camera is for someone 5'1" or less
Gary Brown agree about the hype. I made a review compared to full frame and some people say it’s a downer or negative, but I’m just being honest since there’s plenty of hype elsewhere. Most of the reviewers don’t even shoot, they’re just camera review channels
I want to name each of the custom settings: C1, C2, and so on. I think I found a way to rename, but it is not clear and don't find much in various manuals and videos. By the way, your video is in general very good. We have a large photo club here and about 8 out of our 80 members are now Fuji users. Have passed the video on to them. @@Reggiebphoto
The way you rename is by going to the menu > image quality settings > edit/save custom setting > selecting the c number setting you want to rename > scroll to the buttom and select "edit custom name". There you can rename it whatever you'd like. And that's awesome to hear. I like to make fuji specific content, and also just beginner/intermediate photography and photo editing tutorials in general. If you'd like please come up with a poll and/or survey for your club on what tutorial/topic they'd like more info on, and I'd be happy to help out. I'm always down for creating targetted content for what my viewers actually want/need. Feel free to dm at @reggiebphoto on instagram to coordinate and send me the survey/poll results :)

Why do so many people have to start their videos with “what’s up” it’s a verbal tick, try something different, create your own style. Really useful video, but started with a inane “what’s up?”.
I use these settings for everything. As far as exposure goes I shoot in manual and the exposure settings always depend on the scene. Can you clarify your question a bit more?
@@Reggiebphoto I need to shoot some video night scenes and I get really bad tests - either too dark or too grainy with flicker (especially in slow motion). obviously if I have good lighting its less of a problem. but I want to understand what is the best setting without bringing artificial lighting
Ohad Marbach for that situation it’s more about how you choose the lighting (subject positioning background etc) as opposed to settings. I made A video on how to shoot in low light.

nerd Mike actually i checked it again and it does seem to use
Less points when using the 117.
Xs10 or xt3?
I think there’s a case for either. Depends on what you want to do as their both the same price
Set up for fujifilm xtr4
What about it?
BEST SETTINGS for the Fujifilm X-S10,you never explain for this one camera and why? Please give me a explain...
I haven’t had time to make the video yet. Sorry my friend
👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
LivNG with the NGs 🤘
Hopefully, a very lengthy instruction manual is included with this camera.
Love the sarcasm lol. I actually LOVE the digital manual online, reads pretty smooth.
there is one. i just download the pdf to my phone just for quick referencing. if you have any questions or want an indetph explanation video of specific settings just let me know!
Why is 'My' not highlighted on my XT3 ? I cant use ?
Tom Skiff sorry can you clarify what you’re referring to? Timestamp maybe?
@@Reggiebphoto 1:54
Tom Skiff you have to set it up for my menu.
Coming from Olympus sure regret buying the x-t3
Watched the reviews and all the hype and got caught up and bought the x-t3
xt2 would have been better for me
Or maybe the x-h1
Olympus has poor auto focus but the x-t3 misses focus too you have to have everything set just right.
It looks as though you can name the different Q settings. How do you do that?
Are you referring to the q menu or the custom film simulation settings (c1 c2 etc)
Did you catch your plane or train Reggie? THX anyway!!!
Not sure what you’re referring to 🤔
So, under my image quality, I only have Fine and Normal...
Tyler Miltimore what drive mode are you in?
@@Reggiebphoto drive mode? I'm sorry, I'm very new to fuji
Tuco Salamanca 😂😂😂
Haha why do you say that?
You look like him haha. Whenever I watch your videos...I feel Tuco is teaching me. 😂 keep going brother you have excellent videos and I like your family in those 🤗
Haha 😂
These aren’t the “best” settings. They’re your preferred settings. Big difference
It’s for seo. I also say in the video there is no best
Why do so many people have to start their videos with “what’s up” it’s a verbal tick, try something different, create your own style. Really useful video, but started with a inane “what’s up?”.
Glenn Turnbull appreciate the comment, but it’s literally how I greet people in real life, haha.
You must be a American. Unnecessary annoying music in the background.
Yup. And this is also a few years old and my new videos have no background music. Read the upload date
Reggie, background musac! Distracting ,anoying and unnecessary.
All my recent videos have no music
what are your settings for low light video and settings for low light images?
I use these settings for everything. As far as exposure goes I shoot in manual and the exposure settings always depend on the scene. Can you clarify your question a bit more?
@@Reggiebphoto I need to shoot some video night scenes and I get really bad tests - either too dark or too grainy with flicker (especially in slow motion). obviously if I have good lighting its less of a problem. but I want to understand what is the best setting without bringing artificial lighting
Ohad Marbach for that situation it’s more about how you choose the lighting (subject positioning background etc) as opposed to settings. I made
A video on how to shoot in low light.
