Today I purchased a new XT3! It took me over a year to decide which Fuji X to buy. Watching your videos helped a lot and I’m enjoying your content! It’s my first “Big” Camera. To this day I used a Fuji X30 that I bought new when it was released. I’m excited to start with the XT3.
Just ordered a used X-T3 w/ 18-55mm it don't arrive for 4 days and i cannot wait. I am certain i will binge watch every X-T3 video you have, great content and entertaining as well!
That is wonderful! You are going to absolutely love it! Remember to take your time, and that it is going to be some days before you fully master all of the settings. @@pal2tech I am sure i will have tons of questions as well as a steep learning curve. This will be my first camera and I have been on the fence for over 15 years of wanting to purchase one. But with a new baby on the way and a 50ft hallway for picture space it was definitely time. I cannot wait to document our lives, and who knows maybe a part time gig to marry my love of cars with the enthusiasm of photography!

The #1 thing I want you to promise me that you will remember is to make sure you do not waste one second in spending time with your family, photographing your child, and cherishing those moments. The time goes by faster than you will ever possibly imagine - and the photos/videos you take will by far be the most precious things you own. That being said, always remember when in doubt to put the camera down and live in the moment as well. Never stop shooting - but never stop making the most of every wonderful second you will have with your new child. Congratulations!

Got the X-T3 a few weeks ago, it‘s my second Fujifilm camera (X-T20 was my first). Additionally to most of your settings, I also set the number of focus points from 117 to 425 for it to be more precise, especially when I use continuous AF and can‘t recompose after focusing. I turned off the ES sound, since I may come into a situation where I have to be quiet (I‘ll turn it back on when I‘m on a shoot where I need more than 1/8000 AND sound for the model). And I actually turned on the touch screen, but only to set the AF point. I‘ve found that to be the quickest and easiest for me. Depending on the situation I still use the joystick though, I like the joystick. The only touch screen gesture I turned on is swiping up, which shows me the RGB Histograms and warnings for overexposed areas. I would set it to another button rather than the touch screen but I already used all the buttons ^^ I set the the function buttons (including the D-Pad) to: - Shutter Type - Face Detection on/off - AF Mode - Film Simulation - White Balance - Electronic Level I‘ll change a lot of things again for sure when I have more experience, but for now that‘s about it. Thank you for the video. I immediately changed some things based on it!

Didier Karibian Hi Didier! Thank you! So your are saying if I understand correctly that the zone metering mode is a problem? Because it favors the face? Do you perhaps have face eye detect turned on?
Instead of the sRGB color space, I would use Adobe RGB. It's a larger color space. Yes, the world mostly uses sRGB, but certain circumstances (printing) will give better results if you're using the Adobe RGB space. Also, you can always covert from Adobe to sRGB, but you can't upconvert from sRGB to Adobe. I prefer to capture my images with as much detail, information and color as possible, so I use Adobe RGB.

I was planning on getting the X-T30 II, but after waiting 6 months for it to be in stock and the X-T3 going on sale for the same price, this seemed like the better deal. Just got a X-T3 refurb, here in 2022, up from a Canon 60D 🤣. I just couldn't justify paying for the X-T4 with my current experience and abilities.. Saying that I love the Fuji is an understatement. Your videos are awesome and very helpful too. Thanks!

Thanks for thsi Chris. Have been using X-T1 and X-T3 since they came out on the market and in 2024 you have tought me a couple of things I never realized about my cameras. One more quick point. Having developed arthritis in wrists and hands, I appreciate the line of Fuji equipment for its size and weight and quality. Although the Canon gear I have been using for years has been excellent quality, lugging it around is no longer always an option. Cheers!

That is such great news! And I know you are going to get some amazing photos with that camera. Remember that the Fujifilm system is quite different than other cameras and to go slow and take your time and really enjoy learning about it. Customize the menus to your shooting style and don't be afraid to experiment with new techniques. Okay, you got me! You almost made me have a heart attack... dropping the X-T3. Awesome video, love it! Thanks for your time and the training. Two questions for you. Do you use filters? If so, what's your favorite? I will be shooting indoor/outdoor music videos. I'm considering investing in a 82mm (for all our lenses) variable ND filter for video.
Ha!! Sorry! 😏. Hey I use the Tiffen variable ND filters generally. Here’s the one I find great for general video: www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005TFU7X6?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title. Because for video you have to shoot at double the frame rate AND you sometimes want shallow DOF - AND you happen to shoot outdoors, having a variable ND filter is very necessary. Probably the second most important item in my bag. I also use regular ND filters and polarizer filters for landscape shots- usually Tiffen but sometimes ones from Breakthrough Photography like this one for example: www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00SLR8592?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Just recieved my Xt3, watched your video on camera setup. Excellent, I had only one problem, in Power Management, I set it to your 2 min recommendation but I couldn't set the performance to boost. I tried to toggle down to the word performance, but I couldn't get it to move down so I could make the setting. Your suggestions would be helpful. Paul in the true north- 🇨🇦
I think putting the touch screen off will save so many issues! I bought mine used and it’s been so hard to enjoy using it because I couldn’t figure out what I did to make it not focus. Hopeful these settings in your video really help me feel more confident using this camera. I did buy it to practice manual settings instead of auto
Great video. I just got my Fuji X-T3 for Christmas. (Yeah I'm kinda late to the game.) Although I'm not new to the Fuji system this saved me a lot of time in terms of finding where those settings are for my first time out with the camera..
Ha!! my experience is getting better .. I'm a canon APS-C shooter (80D) just bought The XT3 with the Fringer EF-FX Pro adapter.. I get to keep all my Sigma art prime lens it works flawlessly. I love it with my sigma 50-100 mm f/1.8 art. Now with this info I'm buying the grip.

I have an xt1 that i got recently with batt grip , ef 42 flash like new for 400 and found an 18-55 mint for 200 and i am in love. U really know your stuff with this system i will b watching ur funny

My XT3 is arriving for XMas. Can't wait! Such a smart video, thank you so much. I would though like to know why you chose 200 Mbps over 400 Mbps on video settings. Was 400 Mbps not available for 4K? Are the files way too heavy? Is it too power consuming?

Thanks for this. I just got my X T3 today - a birthday present from myself. 66! Upgrading from X T20, so familiar with the idea of assigning buttons. It's always interesting and helpful to see how others set it up, I've seen Omar's version as well. Quite different to yours! For today though, I'm just looking at it and trying to stay calm!!! :-)

Awesome video! I like the Fuji lens caps EXCEPT the 18-55 one. I never fully trust that it’s gonna stay on. Maybe it’s just wear and tear from the second hand unit I picked up...
Love the video and the exuberance and as an X-T3 owner I remember opening my own box on that first day. But, very small point, your bag appeared to be missing the silver foil sticker that should have sealed it. LOL. Ah, the joys of editing. heh heh. Seriously, love your stuff.

Your channel has been so helpful to me. I am having trouble as a new Fuji XT3 user with the wifi transfer to my phone. I have my image type set to Raw, is that the issue? Does it need to be set to Fine + Raw or Normal + Raw so I can get those images on my phone?

Thanks for thsi Chris. Have been using X-T1 and X-T3 since they came out on the market and in 2024 you have tought me a couple of things I never realized about my cameras. One more quick point. Having developed arthritis in wrists and hands, I appreciate the line of Fuji equipment for its size and weight and quality. Although the Canon gear I have been using for years has been excellent quality, lugging it around is no longer always an option. Cheers!

My XT-3 arrived yesterday. My first camera. Been watching UA-cam videos for over a month lol. I really want to become a photographer. I decided to go with the 16-80MM kit lens for starting. Definitely subscribing to your channel. 👍🏾
That is such great news! And I know you are going to get some amazing photos with that camera. Remember that the Fujifilm system is quite different than other cameras and to go slow and take your time and really enjoy learning about it. Customize the menus to your shooting style and don't be afraid to experiment with new techniques. I know you are going to get some absolutely wonderful photos and I wish you the best of success with your new journey! 👍

Okay, you got me! You almost made me have a heart attack... dropping the X-T3. Awesome video, love it! Thanks for your time and the training. Two questions for you. Do you use filters? If so, what's your favorite? I will be shooting indoor/outdoor music videos. I'm considering investing in a 82mm (for all our lenses) variable ND filter for video.
Ha!! Sorry! 😏. Hey I use the Tiffen variable ND filters generally. Here’s the one I find great for general video: www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005TFU7X6?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title. Because for video you have to shoot at double the frame rate AND you sometimes want shallow DOF - AND you happen to shoot outdoors, having a variable ND filter is very necessary. Probably the second most important item in my bag. I also use regular ND filters and polarizer filters for landscape shots- usually Tiffen but sometimes ones from Breakthrough Photography like this one for example: www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00SLR8592?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Just recieved my Xt3, watched your video on camera setup. Excellent, I had only one problem, in Power Management, I set it to your 2 min recommendation but I couldn't set the performance to boost. I tried to toggle down to the word performance, but I couldn't get it to move down so I could make the setting. Your suggestions would be helpful. Paul in the true north- 🇨🇦
I think putting the touch screen off will save so many issues! I bought mine used and it’s been so hard to enjoy using it because I couldn’t figure out what I did to make it not focus. Hopeful these settings in your video really help me feel more confident using this camera. I did buy it to practice manual settings instead of auto

Great video. I just got my Fuji X-T3 for Christmas. (Yeah I'm kinda late to the game.) Although I'm not new to the Fuji system this saved me a lot of time in terms of finding where those settings are for my first time out with the camera..
Ha!! my experience is getting better .. I'm a canon APS-C shooter (80D) just bought The XT3 with the Fringer EF-FX Pro adapter.. I get to keep all my Sigma art prime lens it works flawlessly. I love it with my sigma 50-100 mm f/1.8 art. Now with this info I'm buying the grip.

I would though like to know why you chose 200 Mbps over 400 Mbps on video settings. Was 400 Mbps not available for 4K? Are the files way too heavy? Is it too power consuming?

Thanks for this. I just got my X T3 today - a birthday present from myself. 66! Upgrading from X T20, so familiar with the idea of assigning buttons. It's always interesting and helpful to see how others set it up, I've seen Omar's version as well. Quite different to yours! For today though, I'm just looking at it and trying to stay calm!!! :-)

Love the video and the exuberance and as an X-T3 owner I remember opening my own box on that first day. But, very small point, your bag appeared to be missing the silver foil sticker that should have sealed it. LOL. Ah, the joys of editing. heh heh. Seriously, love your stuff.

Your channel has been so helpful to me. I am having trouble as a new Fuji XT3 user with the wifi transfer to my phone. I have my image type set to Raw, is that the issue? Does it need to be set to Fine + Raw or Normal + Raw so I can get those images on my phone?

Also I’m looking to buy my first Fuji I’m stuck between the xt3 and xt4 , I will only be using it for photography, I probably won’t use the video settings at all, what would you recommend ?
