After working for 28 years as a Custody Officer in English Law Courts, you are correct Katie its a game that barristers play and you will never see a poor barrister. Also the English law and legal system is a lumbering dinosaur and it needs a massive shake up.
Absolutley correct and you more than most of us will have a more intimate knowlage of the inner workings of the system so thank you for this constructive critticism of the failing system at least your honest unlike many who make a lot of money from its existence
One thing I was always thankfull for was the good natured proffessionalism of the Prison Officers. They liked a laugh but if you treat them with respect you got it back in spades.
I don’t believe in British justice, because they told me “ I hope you were insured” when my bike was stolen, because they dropped the charges against someone who attacked me because I couldn’t identify his accomplice, and they arrested and charged Count Dankula over a joke
The establishment are afraid of the mob, so they come down heavily on anyone seen as an inspiration to the working class. Even a silly joke is amplified out of all proportion so that the establishment can make an example out of someone. Look at the people who gave a few dollars to the Canadian truckers, they had their bank accounts frozen. The powers that shouldn't be are holding all the cards at the moment. I have great admiration for those principled and brave enough to go against the establishment for what they think is the right thing to do. Unfortunately power corrupts and the more power people have the more they use it.
I woke up and smelt the roses when a family friend near Blackburn got some antique firearms stolen by some travelers and he captured them on video walking out of his home with them. The firearms were still functional and the police wouldn't do anything about it because there was no sign up stating they were no surveillance warning signs up therefore the evidence was not admissible in court.
Got shafted by the British justice system when I was 19, left the country 30 years ago, most have no idea what Katie is saying until it happens to you, and only then do you see the real world and the way it really works, she is right on every single point here, it’s exactly how she describes, it destroys your confidence and your soul, I’m a success but lost so much, glad the silks all got paid, like a game of Tiddlywinks for them all.
I was stunned when I heard the judgement and sentence... I can't imagine how Mr B' feels right now- and I felt sick knowing that this kind of "system" could effect us all if we're not extremely careful with our behaviour... Dark days....
Law is opinion. This is why the rulings of a supreme court are never unanimous. If they were based on law it would be. It is time for everyone to realise we live in a police state now. If you upset the rich and powerful, the agents of the state will be sent to silence you.
Oh no.... Human interpretation is involved I'm the law! If only it were all decided by a computer..... Which was designed and created by another computer ...built by a robot....

I stood up and simply asked how do you do that when we live in a cul-de-sac ! not 1 legal brain could answer my question lol
Thank you for this Katie, I knew it would come. The sentencing was discussed on UK Column News extra time yesterday (16-09-2022), it was too late to be included in the main news, I will be very surprised if it is not included there on Monday, the three people on the programme yesterday were Mike Robinson who was visibly shocked and stunned, Patrick Henningsen and Vanessa Beeley, all three agree that this is not about a crime committed but is a political silencing of someone speaking out against the establishment and to further the progress of silencing independent journalism and opinion with the online harms bill, I hope the majority in the UK will wake up soon to the the fact that the public are under attack from what can only be seen as a hostile government, media and the law, such as it is. If you read this, please can you, or someone, anyone set up a way in which we can support Alex through this?
I want to know the same thing; I'm going to write to him, but I'm trying to think of a way we could support him as a crowd, he has over three hundred thousand followers (or is it five hundred thousand?),we could let him, and the authorities, know we haven't been disbanded, we're stronger in support than ever. Alex has sent a message for us from solitary confinement; "I love you and there's nothing you can do about it". Spot on Katie. The law here in South Africa is absolutely ludicrous. The billion dollar scammers, and even murderers walk free. The petty, nonsensical offenses are penalised with vigour and glee. Very sad.
Whole heartedly agree with you on all points. I know from personal experience, not on a criminal matter but a private action. The builder that built my house unilaterally changed the foundations for undesigned add hoc made up ones thus rendering my house(£354,000 in 2007 when I bought it new) uninsurable, thus un sellable because it is un mortgageable. It's not even worth the value of the land because of what the builder also did to the public sewers on my land which makes any owner liable for the extensive repairs that WILL happen in the future. After 42 months and £30,000 in legal fees I was forced to give up as I was faced with a future expense of £60,000 at least, money I didn't have as a pensioner.
And sadly not just the justice system. As an English woman first (now a dirty word - English? how very dare you!) - and a British woman next, and in my middle to late years, I don't recognise my country anymore. I honestly believed we were upright, strong, un-corruptible, a model nation. I was so so wrong. We are corrupt to the core. This nation has become something savage and to hear that Alex has been sentenced to 5.5 years is just unbelieveable. How is that even possible. Well, we know Katie that the Powers That Be don't like having their plans exposed.
Try living in Australia..Aussie Cossack jailed whilst pervertpedos walk free..AC just got released after many months. We are just gutted here in Oz about Alex..😢
What a heart felt and beautiful response to the situation Katie, I've never commented before but what you just said is true and I fear now for the future of free speech which was enabled originally by English Common law and given to the world.
This case was not about free speech, Alex was found guilty of harassing (stalking) certain people using online communications. From what little i know of the case, it appears Alex was guilty of this, what is remarkable is the length of sentence for purely online harassment. The guidelines for sentencing consider a number of factors, the culpability of the perpetrator, and the emotional stress of the victim. It would appear if the victim can persuade the court that their emotional trauma was severe and sustained, the sentence is significantly increased. in this case the victim successfully claimed they were threatened with civil legal action.
@@maidsubrena I am afraid you are very wrong, this was a show trial, much the same as with Julian Assange, it is about silencing anyone who goes against the mainstream narrative and those who further it, it was also to silence him from telling just what the BBC is and how it operates. From now on, we ALL need to be aware that if we openly disagree with what the government says and does and the stance of mainstream media, we could just as easily end up in prison, there is a teacher now in prison in Ireland for refusing to use a child's pronouns because it is made law under the new sex education they have forced on schools, something Alex was also speaking out against. So beware before you look at this from a literal and logical perspective, this is a precedent set, the second in as many months, I speak of the sanctioning of a UK citizen, without trial, for interviewing a UK mercenary in Ukraine with a story to tell, at his request, information that the UK government, particularly Liz Truss do not want the public to hear.

Those who dislike Mr Belfield should think before celebrating, just because they have the accepted opinion now, doesn't mean it will always be so. My family came here during war in the Balkans & saw Britain as a free & just country where you can believe & say what you want without fear & police were there to help & protect law abiding citizens. Its heartbreaking to watch everything I believed turned upside down. British people deserve better
He is a conman though. He is a proven liar. Just look at the many videos on UA-cam of him begging for money to "sue the BBC." He ended up in court for stalking and didn't use the money for legal costs. He started taking expensive holidays earlier this year and purchased a hot tub.

Really? He was found guilty by jury of his peers. Average brits picked at random - not some rigged corrupt system arranged from on high. Incidentally he supposedly defended himself after grifting £300k for court costs (which were tenth of that). He used to tell them he was looking forward for his day in court to get 'the whole truth' . Of course he had the opportunity to take the stand and be cross examined - an opportunity fo rthe 'truth' to be revealed in the process. And chose not to . Because he's a lying, nasty grifter thats why - and he knew enough that a thorough cross examination under oath would have brought out more of the actual truth and made it even worse for him.

I listened to all the court proceedings. Alex's attempt to defend his reputation and to hold the BBC to account was historic and heroic. I have never seen anyone work so hard for a matter of principle. Yet it is clear that a complainant's public performance of a personality disorder in court supersedes any rational consideration of the law. It has consolidated the BBC as the disgusting cesspit we suspected it to be, and the legal process as theatre.

Kate, think your amazing and have supported Alex for the last few years, would love to Stand by both of you, seen you in Blackpool, but that's nothing to do with me standing by you both,
Thank you for your sensible take on all of this. I had the utter misfortune of watching the criminal justice system in action last year as I sat on a Jury for 7 weeks in a child cruelty and neglect case. Can you imagine that there is no legal definition for cruelty? The legal system has no definition for it. So it's left to 12 (in our case, thanks to Covid, 11 jurors) to decide what they believe cruelty amounts to. You're given directions by the judge before you retire to make your verdict. You have to fulfil each criteria for each count against the defendant(s) to find them guilty. In my opinion, our directions were biased and made it virtually impossible to reach a guilty verdict. Even though we all believed the acts had been carried out. It split us, the jury, almost down the middle. 27 counts we had to consider. I still can't forget the experience and the miscarriage of justice that took place. It still makes me so angry.
It's so sad to hear professional law people speaking out about this. This goes the same about convid and medical professionals. I think people are frightened to speak out. It has to change or we are destined for a dark planet Earth.

I prefer to say that feelings are now acting 'in place of the law' rather that "as" the law. It was once standard practice that "feelings" were specifically excluded from testimony. There are matters of fact and matters of law. An opinion is neither. A feeling, however strongly perceived, is also neither.
@@m.hughes8605 ... Dear Katie. You are 100% correct. Fought an enormous injustice for nearly 10 years. Finally lost the case. Individuals have the cards stacked against when taking on a corporation. You cannot be allowed to win.
As a retired Police officer who has worked in every type of investigation and run specialist teams, I was shocked at the outcome. I followed Belfield’s summary of the evidence on each and everyday. I was more than surprised when the Judge allowed evidence from one witness who changed his evidence overnight in relation to the number of emails and when challenged by the defence, he said he did so as he had received a text message from a named person. This would to any lay person suggest that there may be some form of collusion or conspiracy taking place between people on the prosecution side. Was his evidence his evidence or not? I am also shocked at the length of the sentence, even if I had considered him guilty, I have known worse offenders get substantially less, if any prison time at all. Just saying.

Thank you for your thoughts Katie. Alex was open and transparent about his court case. Nobody in their right mind would push for Crown Court if they did not believe they would be vindicated of all wrong doing. He believed in a fair trial and whole heartedly in the justice system. The sentencing was a shock! I believe he has been made an example of. Whatever people's opinions are regarding this case, the sentencing is way out of proportion to some who have committed the most heinous of crimes. Which in turn, is a warning to us all. There is no such thing as freedom of speech anymore.

As much as I agree with you Linda, but I'm afraid, he brought this on himself. He chose to defend himself, instead of seeking legal representation. He had enough money in donations, where did that money go? As for the BBC, I think they over exaggerated about his stalking and deliberately made a meal out of it. Alex sending emails to BBC employees was thing that got him into serious trouble. He doesn't deserve the harsh sentence, as there are serious crimes that get lesser sentences!
@@Aerojet01 wrong, the donations were shut down by the police early on and he only had £16,400 anyway in donations, he paid the bills from his work on UA-cam and his own channel. He gave the donations back via a type of raffle that was on air on his channel where those who entered hot £500 each.

I absolutely love you Katie. Your insights and clear explanations are not affected by 'the crowd'. I love fiercely independent thinkers who clarify the reality of situations that confuse most people. When Alfred the Great formulated the Golden rule of 'Do No Harm' this became the most important event in the nation's history. As Europe continued to enforce Justinian Law and its tyranny Britain defied them all and became a haven for those seeking refuge from whimsical statutes. Most people lack clarity of thought on this matter and are easily deceived. Simplicity is the key. Statutes are NOT LAW. They are LEGISLATED RULES OF SOCIETY GIVEN THE FORCE OF LAW BY CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED" That is why people don't get what they think is justice. Justice is BS. What people should expect is EQUITY. And that is not possible in a statutory court (Admiralty/Military) court. These courts operate on a honour vs dishonour system and the final ruling is left to the whim of a tyrant. The rich and powerful get their EQUITY because they know WHAT they are after and WHERE to get it. They get it at the Queen's Bench (now the King's Bench). This information has been available in the public domain (via internet) to the surfs of this nation for some time but too few have learned anything about it.
I’ve just had my own experience of this. I realised the law is all just smoke and mirrors when the driver of the car that killed my son who was a passenger, got off. Walked away, after perjuring himself by blaming the dead passenger. I suddenly saw that the more money you have, then justice is easily achievable and as you say Katie, it’s a game. Thinking of Alex. I’m in shock at this travesty - yet again.
Exactly ..I experienced the same thing with the loss of my child .. I'm sorry for your loss and I feel your pain ..No court of law will ever serve you or your son justice💛💛💛
“The more money you have, then justice is easily achievable.” Surely you mean that victory is easily achievable. Unfortunately justice has nothing to do with it.
I stand with you Katie. It's shocking and scary for us all that this has happened. Is now the case any cowardly horrible bastard can say you've said something offensive and you risk going to prison. Bad times. Support for Alex.
Do you think I'd get done if I sent a sympathy message to that cretin at the BBC; I'm so sorry for you, it must be awful waking up every morning being you".
As long as they can prove it I suppose-but what’s really scary is that it doesn’t even have to be offensive-just to have caused offence. If you say ‘that’s bananas’ or something and someone decides to take offence to that and has a witness that you said it-then you could be in trouble.

When they said 'stalking' I imagined him literally following people around 24/7 and that didn't seem to make sense from the videos Alex posted. You are right, it's a sad day if the law has convicted a man to prison based upon someone else's 'feelings'.
The thing is these hurty feelings were exaggerated ... This is so true. In court you have a judge who represents the crown. A prosecutor who as a bar member, represents thr Crown and even if you employ a defence barrister at extortionate expense, as a bar member, and although you are paying him, his first duty is not to you but to the crown! The clerk is also legally trained and has a duty to the crown. With four against one, how can this ever be fair? We will have to wait for the new monarch to swear the corronation oathto see if its the same as the queen's but she broke her oath thousands of times and cases brought as, R Vs the defendant could not have been valid because the crown is the crown corporation and R is the regal crown, that was the queen and as she had breached her oath she had no standing to bring a case against anyone. This has been used as a defence in the case, R Vs JAH 2009.
I only found out today that Alex was sentenced to prison. This is totally disgusting and even I was shocked. As I posted before, the judges report will have to explain why he was given such a harsh sentence, however sentence can be appealed against and previous sentences are compatible despite what Katie says. Conviction can only be appealed if there is reason. ie there's a protocol. I remember posting and at the time I was worried about Alex, clearly a man who wasn't accustomed to the reality of Britain's justice system. Like Katie says about T.R. never before had anyone else been sent to prison for the same thing but they all knew what was going to happen. Think about that. The bit that worried me was that Alex believed he was going to get justice through the facts of the case and not just probability like that in the magistrates court where he would have received 2yrs max. He knew to a certain extent but didn't expect exactly the same treatment from a high court. I lost all hope in justice a long time ago when the judge said to a policeman in open court that he was trapped in a web of his own fabricated evidence, apologised to me then found me guilty. I abandoned my appeal 2 yrs later. Nobody gains except those people being paid to be there. Good luck Alex and God bless. Katie sounds like a good friend who has good council.
My grandfather retired as a greatly respected lawyer 50 years ago. He told me at the time that in many cases that many innocent people were sent down and the guilty walked free . I lost faith in the system at that time.
I know that it is absolutely forbidden to talk about court proceedings if one has been a juror and the jurors must go by whatever has been heard in court, but I also know that sometimes everybody involved in a courtroom knows in their bones that a defendant may be guilty BUT that 'not guilty' must be returned as a verdict because of procedural mishandling on the prosecution side (or conversely that jurors may be inclined to acquit, but may be directed otherwise by the judge). As Katie said in this video, it is a game for lawyers - exploiting every possible weakness to score a 'win' - and the new ground in cases like this may be in people's feelings rather than material facts. I stopped following Belfield's shenanigans many months ago because he's a very prolific broadcaster and I just wanted to be able to fast-forward to the end of his case - I literally found out about the result today (25/9). It is my one worry if I were ever to be a juror myself that I might be 'directed' to go against my own objective opinion and I hope it never comes to that. Jurors carry a heavy burden.
Thank you Katie. I have sent small donations to Alex to help with his defence over the past year! Alex never had a chance! I'm a retired Police Officer and I know the system! I told him that the establishment would NEVER allow a win from his side as it would systematically create a precedence that would interfere with their future agenda regarding Silencing and the Cancel Culture! There is something quite upsetting going on here; It is called 'The closing of Ranks'! This is an unspoken condition whereby certain academic people when under scrutiny will systematically pull together and defend each others judgement and choices devoid of any fairness or righteousness! This is a good example of elitism! Katie, maybe someone could set up a communication forum for Alex so that we can at least speak to him and keep his spirits high. Maybe even a donation box to help in recover his life for when he gets out? If I were not now a New Born Christian I would suggest that the current Houses of Commons could easily become a target much like Guy Fawkes! They know of this utter corruption of our system, and yet they do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING? Indeed will soon become a 'House of Cards'!
Sometimes the truth can be difficult to hear. Thank you Katie for your quiet thoughts. I listened and I heard. Much appreciated Katie.

One thing I was always thankfull for was the good natured proffessionalism of the Prison Officers. They liked a laugh but if you treat them with respect you got it back in spades.
I don’t believe in British justice, because they told me “ I hope you were insured” when my bike was stolen, because they dropped the charges against someone who attacked me because I couldn’t identify his accomplice, and they arrested and charged Count Dankula over a joke
the U.K. police who police everything but crime.
Unfortunately power corrupts and the more power people have the more they use it.
it is all mumbo jumbo, literally spells and CONtext

A very genuine and clued up lady.
Totally agree Katie. Our justice system is corrupt beyond belief.
it is, but Katie is jabbed, it's the only way she can get into the US. So she's a shill
And sadly not just the justice system. I honestly believed we were upright, strong, un-corruptible, a model nation. I was so so wrong. We are corrupt to the core. This nation has become something savage and to hear that Alex has been sentenced to 5.5 years is just unbelieveable. How is that even possible. What a heart felt and beautiful response to the situation Katie, I've never commented before but what you just said is true and I fear now for the future of free speech which was enabled originally by English Common law and given to the world.
Was guilty of stalking.
Free speech? Abusing people…
This case was not about free speech, Alex was found guilty of harassing (stalking) certain people using online communications.

I can see some UA-cam accounts being deleted now.....
And what about HIS victims? Just because you agree with the populist garbage it doesn’t make it right! He got what he deserved and like Abraham Lincoln said “a man who defends himself in court has a fool for a client!”
FYI when YT accounts are deleted so is every comment ever made by those accounts.
@@golden.lights.twinkle2329 FYI, I already knew that, thank you very much.

I've just read about someone today who got sentenced to five years and eight months for trying to kill someone by running over them and then dragging them around a park, causing spinal injuries and brain damage. How can the justice system be fair when Alex gets more or less the same sentence as a violent psychopath? The world IS going mad.
To those who justify your repercussions, they're missing the greater issue at hand with regards to free speech and it's worrisome.
I admire your unwavering courage in pursuit of truth. We don't agree on some things, but your character cannot, should not, be judged the way it has been.
My very best to you, Katie.
A wonderful speech Katie. I didn't know the law had sunk so low that someone's feeling can land you in jail for 5 year's. My god when I was growing up it was a case of sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never harm me.....you learnt to deal with real issues rather than hiding behind some pathetic law

Sticks and stones...exactly! What a cream puff society we live in nowadays. Consideration for someone's "feelings" is only one-sided it would appear.
Great insight. As a lawyer, I totally agree that the law is not the law. This is the reason I left the profession. You are fearless Katie, and your words need to be heard.

Thank you Katie for these truths. My heart goes out to Alex. Simply, he’s being made an example of. As was Tommy Robinson. Love & prayers for both of them & the injustices that are heavy on them. 🇨🇦😢🙏🏻
Absolutely shocking sentence, I'm just dumfounded
Wow! What a coincidence. The guy who was unblocking my house sewage drain said exactly the same thing. Great minds may think alike!
At some time in the very near future, the ordinary man who has had his life stolen from him by those who have tormented him with lies, deceptions, deceit and propaganda, is not going to be the man who relies on the law. It will come and when it comes new precedents will be set and it ain't going to be pretty. Everything is about to change and wether it be for better or for worse it is going to happen. No one person who has facilitated these heinous crimes against humanity is going to be safe, EVER. The world as we know it is a ticking time bomb and the countdown cannot be reversed. Sad times indeed.
Katie, as ever you are spot on. We are steeped in a careless, lop sided justice system that is hard to fathom. The law is an ass 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Non british knife murderers get a smack on the fingers, what tfk has gone wrong with our Britain , no longer can we recognise our culture and country.
Just to add, a skilful barrister, with extensive knowledge of the legal system could've knocked off 3 years or even a suspended sentence.
@@Aerojet01 wrong, the donations were shut down by the police early on and he only had £16,400 anyway in donations, he paid the bills from his work on UA-cam and his own channel. He gave the donations back via a type of raffle that was on air on his channel where those who entered hot £500 each.

thank you Katie for being a voice of intelligence and sanity in a world that is rapidly disappearing up its own backside...to coin a phrase...
I agree with your beautifully constructed analysis Katie and my summary of it is simply this, you can't rely on the "law" to get justice.
I always remember someone telling me years ago that lawyers and barristers etc are not interested in the truth or justice they are only interested in winning. 🙄
Brilliant Katie, great analysis of the judicial system, I have a very close family member who is a serving Police Officer with many years experience, he constantly say's that the law is not only an Ass but is wrong so many times on so many levels and is sick and tired of being a social worker having to protect peoples feelings, I wish Alex well in these trying times and hope he knows he has a lot of people who back him, and as for the man from Luton, what a man, he single handedly showed just how corrupt the legal system is in the UK and just how deep the stench of rot goes.
Is the 'man from Luton' Tommy???
From Ireland, and missed some of the news with ye lads, with our own similar trouble here.
Best wishes to ye all, and to poor Alex. 🙏😟🙏
The law is there to keep us little people in check. Time for change and not the change they want.
Thx Katie, spot on as always, you look great too
I’ve just had my own experience of this.
Mmm Prince andrew was spared because of wealth
Exactly ..I experienced the same thing with the loss of my child .. I'm sorry for your loss and I feel your pain ..No court of law will ever serve you or your son justice💛💛💛
“The more money you have, then justice is easily achievable.” Surely you mean that victory is easily achievable. Unfortunately justice has nothing to do with it.
Laws are only there to protect the state.
@@johnhiggins4470 it’s all about the money 💰
This is so true. New law. Omg. Excellent message communicated so graphically.
I messaged Alex a while back telling him to watch his back if he was going after the BBC, told him remember Jill Dando. He was going after the MET police. BBC & MET POLICE HAVE BEEN IN BED FOR YEARS. My best regards to Alex’s, he needs to get in touch with the black belt barrister. Love you & Alex, this island needs more great people like you 2. 🥰🍻🕊

Thank you Katie for this wonderful speech. I know a lot a people over at Alex's site have been waiting for your thoughts. I agree with you 100%. These really are sad times for our so-called democracy.
Your right about the law and having been slandered and my integrity questioned follow by two lengthy investigations both concluding no case to answer, I should have walked away feeling gratified but I didn’t - those that made lies up and propagated this had no comeback for lying its an unjust world.
There has always been a very big difference between law and justice and there always will be.
You make a good point.
Thank you Katie.
I hadn't actually known what Alex was supposed to have done.
Ben Hewis who is gloating about the past 3 years openly apologied to Alex saying he had never met him and that Alex had never been near him and was sorry for what he had done ... now all of a sudden Ben Hewis boo hooing all over the place ... as for Jeremy Vile saying he had a picture if Alex by his front door just in case !! was utter 🦬💩 ... they all fabricated their hurty feelings ... and this Judge was part of putting Alex away for the BBC ... it all stinks 😪
Who is this person who s feelings have been upset thats the next way to go
Stalking can also happen online.
Stalking can also happen online.
It's a sad day if you believe that!
One law for some & one for others.
Oh my goodness every single word you said is so true.
Well said.
Welk, Alex has certainly hoodwinked a lot of people judging by the comments on this video. The man is DANGEROUS and deserves the sentence he got.
