Being able to faint in the overworld really ramped up the danger of getting poisoned in nuzlockes, especially at the start of the game where poison sting is common!
Nah, someone else *did* discover it - the dude whose footage I showed towards the start of the vid. Sorry if I didn't make that clear enough. But yeah, other than him, that's the only time I've seen that glitched get acknowledged. Dunno if that means nobody talks about it, or what, but it doesn't appear to be super documented.
I assume you meant to say "until XD", but yeah, I kinda wonder how Genius Sonority learned they messed that up. In their defense, it's a bit of an obscure thing - I can totally understand them messing that kind of thing up - but since it was fixed in XD, obviously they learned how the Poison status condition should interact with Revive items.
I might be weird, but I think I like the idea that a Pokemon would still be suffering from most status (exclude frozen) even after being revived from fainting. It's less player friendly, but I think it makes it a bit more interesting from a world building standpoint. But I suppose it could also easily just be said that revive is just an advanced version of a full heal and heals all the status of a Pokemon and accelerates their natural recovery.
I see where you're coming from, but yeah, I think it just makes more sense to say that the medicine packed in a Revive, etc., also has the medicine that's inside a Full Heal.
my bet would be that when a pokemon faints in battle the game calls a function to reset its status, but before xd they forgot to make poison fainting outside of battle do that
Thank you! And I just have to say, I'm not superstitious, but there's something kinda funny about someone with your username commenting on a Friday the 13th.

Yeah, gotta buy an Antidote or two as soon as you can, especially if you don't get any for free.
I'm amazed no one discovered this yet. I can't think of any other RPG where status is kept when a character is revived.

@@yukihoshikawa I suppose I probably meant to say that I'm amazed very few have discovered this.
@@nohar9953 No worries, lol; English is hard.
Oh people have. Came across it years ago, just didn't post it online.
I'm surprised there isn't more about this game on here
Gotta love how the glitch wasn't obscure enough for the devs to pick up on with XD! Must've had a diligent playtester.

Oh wait, I misread what you said; never mind, what you said was right dsagiuhoaegeatp

Since fainting is displayed the same way as any other status, clearly it's just a status condition itself, one that only revives can heal :p
amazing videos, this channel will go far
Thank you; I hope that's what happens one day!

Wait, I thought not perishing from poison outside of battle started in Fire Red and Leaf Green.
Nah, I'm pretty sure you can still faint outside of battle in FR/LG.
What if your pokemon faints due to poison in the overworld and then you use a revive on it in a battle. Does that cure poison?
It should.
They never played a Pokémon game is gold to me.
WHEN DID YOU GET BREASTS???
Pretty recently, actually! I wanted to get a redesign for my VTuber, and she finally got rigged and whatnot a couple of months ago.
@@yukihoshikawa Enjoy the horny comments and creepy dms as is the fate of the monkeys paw.
E works wonders :p

You know this is just another reason Colosseum is a stinky game lol
FR tho do enjoy these dives into super obscure Pokemon facts!

This game isn’t stinky! It smells pretty good actually!
Weird furry avatar thing aside, interesting fact that could've been in a short.
My VTuber isn't a furry, lol
