New to your channel. I visit Cambodia about once a year, and yes, the tuk-tuk drivers drive me (excuse the pun) crazy! Even if I'm with my local friends they will still bother me all the time. "tuk tuk sir?" Ugh! I try to ignore them by just waving "no" and not even responding, but every once in a while I would have to stop out of frustration and tell them "If I needed a tuk tuk, I would have asked you". They are such kind and warm people, but sometimes, enough is enough. They need to understand that if we need a tuk tuk, we will get one. Sorry for the rant on an otherwise beautiful country with beautiful people.

@@Lushfan yes you are 100% correct. The tuk tuk drivers are the one big problem in Cambodia.
Not only do they push and harass you t get into their vehicle they don’t stop unless you tell them to get lost.
I try to ignore also or wave a no sign, but they won’t stop. One guy even grabbed me by the arm as said come on I need money!!!!
I had 2 phones stolen by tuk tuk drivers as the snatched from out of my hand as I was paying
I’ve been threaten to fight with them at night.
They sell drug and women and try to push that on you too.
In the Riverside area they are the worst vermin ever and known as the “tuk tuk mafia,” because that is what they are.
The authorities need o clamp down on them and make them leave people alone.
As you said, if we want a tuk tuk we all get on.
And, making matters worse. If you take one off the street by try to make you pay 5 x more than you would with a Grab or PassApp. So, what does that mean?
They are rip off artists and thieves

@@robhourmontmba Wow! Those are some wild stories. Sorry about your phones getting stolen and being physically grabbed. I never knew it got that bad. Yes, the Riverside! You reminded me of a story where me and a bunch of local friends were walking there, and after saying no to a driver a few times, the driver just slowly drove behind us (on the road, of course) for about a 100 meters. I had to get one of my local friends to intervene and have them emphatically explain to him we were not interested.
And yes, when I take a tuk-tuk alone I was solicited for women too. I guess most single foreign men riding a tuk-tuk are. One funny story was one guy pushing me if I wanted a woman and when I kept saying no, he said "Then how about a man?". I just laughed.
Grab and PassApp make things a little better with no bargaining. Oh well. Keep up the good content!

    Your friends?! 😂
In this area is tuktuk Mafia!

@@AdrianCadeo I know that. This area is the absolute worst for Tuk Tuk thieves. I started off making the point at the beginning of the video and them as it began to rain I had to take a tuk tuk home. He was super nice so o decided to mention him a friendly. No we are not friends and I generally cannot stand the rickshaw drivers in particular. They steal from you at any moment they can and the harassment is one reason not to live here. But it’s a problem all over PP,sadly

Thanks for the videos. I ve lived in HK and China, and Thailand before, but been back in Australia since August 2016. Will go back to SEA within a few months 😊
Tossing up between Philippines or Cambodia, from all accounts, including yours, Cambodia seems by far to be a better option than Phils.
Thinking about Phnom Penh, I ve always lived in large cities, in Brisbane now, another large city. I m more an urban bloke, but I m sure rural Cambodia has its charms and beauty also.

@@SBGNatureandCoffeeChannel thanks for your comment. Definitely Cambodia mate. It’s so chilled and easygoing here. Visas are dirt cheap, easy to get, and authorities are super relaxed plus the people are wonderful.
Phnom Penh is a fabulous city. I live here and am not going anywhere other than short trips here and there.
Next to no crime here either, unlike Philippines

theyre just trying to make a living. its not easy to find money in cambodia some of them couldnt make 2usd a day they go back home empty handed

@@purpleshy1502 making money is not done by scaring away tourists or others. They are aggressive and nasty. The worst of the kind. I’ve had 2 phones stolen out of my hand by TT drivers. So no, they are not trying to make money. All they do is push, and rip you off. And that is why they are so despised here
