This the first video I've seen on stencils (some setting changed in google that deleted all my favorites and I'm starting fresh). Sounds like a great idea ! Could these be used in the same way for beginning long-armers? These will make my regular-sewing machine rush-jobs so much faster (heading for your store right now)

Yes, regular printer paper works best and no, if you stitch with smaller stitches, they really don't get pulled when you remove the paper. Really squish and massage the quilt so the stitches loosen against the paper and it will be very easy to tear away.
Hi Leah, these stencils are really pretty! How would you go about using them on a longarm, since your hands won’t be free to hold the paper in place? Have you tried it? Also, re: the fabric panel, I’m unclear on what one yard looks like bc on Spoonflower, they only show 36” square. Can you show us exactly what we would get in a one yard length? And will you also show us a panel that is mirrored? Would you then buy two yards to get that effect? Thanks so much! 🌷
I have another video on using the stencils on a longarm on a frame which you can find here - ua-cam.com/video/QYqXieVdv9M/v-deo.html The method is the exact same and I do hang onto the stencil with my non-dominant hand. I'm not sure why Spoonflower is only showing the square size. If you purchase 1 yard, it will repeat across to 42 inches. If you don't like the mirror repeat, you can cut it off to have a 36 inch square. I'm working on the post on custom quilting that will share more photos and specifics on using the panel.
