Finally Finishing My Workshop! - Miter Station and Cabinets

- This has been a long time coming. After getting the drywall up we kinda just skipped over the last step. For the past year we have been using this space without really finishing it off. Tools were scattered around making things less efficient and organized. Finally I bit the bullet and started coming up with the cabinet layout and miter station design.

5:44 whether you have one person or two, using sticks between the laminate and the surface to hold them apart is easier because you can remove the sticks one by one and lower the laminate down and work the air out from the center to the edge
As someone building their own shop on the side after my 9-5, i can tell how much time and effort it took to get to where you're at. Way to go brother, you're killin it. Even got a model to show up and help!
Well Deserved for all of the Quality Videos that you have posted to us here at UA-cam!
Living the Dream!!!
Thank you Camilo!
What a great workshop you have created. Appreciate the design details and layout. Thanks for sharing.
Still loving this shop build!
Beautiful work once again! Love the work space!
Like a kid on Christmas morning putting together that toy he's begged Santa for. Beautiful shop bro, congrats.
Thanks 👍
Sweet Shop, I wish You Many Great Builds.
Thank you!!
Great work, as always!
Love your videos thanks for takings us with you in your journey while educating us
Thanks Tony! I'm learning all along the way and having a blast.
Looking good! 👍👏👏
This was very well presented, thank you sharing!
Awesome shop !! Nicely done !
Looks good. I would have gone with Baltic birch for the counters as I’ve had too much trouble with MDF and moisture. Looks like dust collection is next!
I'm envious with the adult help! Well done!
The shop looks AMAZING!! Hard work pays off! I caught the clip of your door and Im happy to see my Maple Ridge Wooworks sticker on the door!!!! #stickerswap!!!
You lucky dog! I'm totally jealous! Oh, alright you deserve it. Sweet!
May God continue to bless you and your family
That’s beautiful
That’s a same that you had to cover all the lower Rec’s with the lower cabinets.
Looks great
Would like a video on the assembly table, it looks great !
I don't have a video but here are the plans: rogueengineer.com/ultimate-diy-workstation-plans/
the shop looks great! I’d like to see the dust collection when you add it
Nice work! Looks great.
I don't know about the tin cabinets. You could build this all out of maple plywoods, solid maple drawer fronts and solid maple door frames...and high quality hinges and slides for less. I mean this is a WORKSHOP, which implies that you have the skills to build your own.
Exactly my thoughts.
Awesome. I looked threw all your videos and can't seem to find one on that shop table build.
Yes I want, thats my dream to🙏👍
Nice shop! will you do a final tour / a review on the Husky cabinets ?
I will! I still have a few more things I want to tackle so there will be more to come.
My experience at a wood shop you laminate it first and then you cut it perfect fit
Got a nicer workshop than most kitchens...
like from BRAZIL
Cool your wife gets in on the projects with you. Do you have a vid on the assembly table.
dude this is awesome. Cant wait to have a shop like this. Any plans for a CNC? By far my fav tool.
Thanks!! Definitely something I’m considering. I have another room I can make space for it in though.
Happy creating!! Have a great week!! 🤗🤗🤗New Subscriber~~
Looks fantastic. I am planning a new build. I was looking for ideas for size buy I don't want to go TOO big but also not come up short. It will be as wide as a double garage but length I am deciding. How long is your workshop? I will have bench saw, 1.8mx1m laser, 1200x1200 cnc, vinyl cutter, 3d printers etc. And will add steal lather and mill later
Nice plan and floor finish, what covering did you use it's nice and practical. Is it a flake redin paint
Nice work. I noticed the Bosch mitre saw and am considering one myself. How do you like it? Pro's and con's?
I am interested in what finish you have on your concrete floor. Is it a helicopter finish with some sort of sealant on it?
Love your shop. How do you like the battery powered trim router? I've been thinking about one but I wonder how top heavy and award it would be to control with the narrow base they have.
I love it for smaller jobs. I’ve seen where people make a large base to mount them on but for stuff like this it’s not an issue
I bought twelve old kitchen cabinets of two meters long and I turned them into a workshop station.
now I have enough workspace and storage space of twenty-four meters in total.
all this cost me 250 euros including worktop and paint and exposy hars.
Great looking shop. What size is the shop?
Slick workshop! But with a great golf simulator, who has time for woodworking projects?!
Hi from an Australian Maker!
Great video and sound.
Great project.
Love your workshop. If you get time to have a look at mine you will see why.
James the One Handed Maker
how are you planning on securing the miter saw to your worktop ?
Lag screws. I put the 2x4 frame right where the bolts go
What's the dimensions of your workshop? I'm having the hardest time settling on a size and yours looks perfect!
Ciao che aspiratore usi per la polvere dell legno???grazie
So this is basically a home depot video with a guy from kentucky talking 😭
Oh the pain of seeing those outlets covered by the cabinets. Why put them in if they're not usable?
Yeah Noone could afford to do that without their sponsor giving the the tools and equipment for free
What time are you coming over to do mine?
What is the size of that shop?
What's the paint color of your shop?
That’s money dude
What's the size of the shop?
What size is your shop
So happy for you, if I ever get lucky this'll be me someday 👍
How big is your workspace?
What is your square footage?
10 puntos
muebles prefabricados ara un carpintero ? una desilusión
Curious what the dimensions of your workspace are?
25 x 30
what are the dimensions of your shop?
What kind of miter saw do you use
Bosch 12" sliding miter saw
Just came across your channel. your workshop looks stunning. this is the first video of yours I've seen and I gotta say you have some amount of shout outs and ads for suppliers. Just my two cents.
Thanks Nathan
Sorry, but I gotta question any wood shop where the woodworker doesn’t make his/her own cabinets. It’s one thing if you remodel your kitchen and decide to repurpose your old cabinets... or even if you manage to procure a bunch of cabinets cheap. But this? There’s just no excuse for it - unless you’re shilling for Husky.
I've built plenty of cabinets in my day but sometimes (due to time constraints this time) it's worth going with off the shelf cabinets. Steel cabinets will last, cheap cabinets or cabinets built in a hurry won't. Plus, have you seen the price of plywood lately!
@@rogueengineer Good point. Yeah, prices are crazy!
@Rogue Engineer - I think the husky cabinets looks outstanding. I did not know that husky made these outstanding cabinet. Great video and keep it coming.
As a guy who built all of my shop cabinets - there isn't anything wrong with buying pre-built. Just because you can doesn't mean you should...
I just wanna know how much those cabinets would cost to a non sponsored person cause I bet there a pretty penny
Expensive platform 🤣🤣
fact 😂
You covered your bottoms outlets,,,,, I think that might be against code,
Even my kitchen is not so beautiful 😭😢
Good stuff but too much add’s
Black is stylish but believe me , when you are choosing light colors , they increase the level of energy in that space and influence your energy and general mood too. Sun and the light is the main source of the whole nature and our energy.
I understand sponsors, but it disappointing that for your "Dream Workshop" you used store bought cabinets and you didn't build them.
Also , in the finished pix it doesn't look like there is enough space around your miter saw to use the compound miter functions
I've build plenty of cabinets in my day but sometimes (due to time constraints this time) it's worth going with off the shelf cabinets. And yes, there is plenty of space for the miter to use the compound feature.
Buy a laser
That was a pretty long Home Depot commercial
if your still using ryobi you don't need this big of a shop ryobi is used for arts and crafts not for woodworking
Disappointed couldn’t see the completed kitchen.
Specifically mentions the kreg foreman. two frames later he's just screwing straight into end grain. Do I lose trust in this guy, or kreg
?
You could have built one .Bottom line
Too many adverts and promotions for me... sorry
I can build cabinets all day but I'm going to consider these Husky cabinets for my shop rebuild. They look great! Nice shop space.
It's a nice shop but this was just an 11 min ad. Sorry
Thanks. Don’t be sorry.
@@rogueengineer hope I didn’t offend you with my comment. I know sponsorship is vital for running a UA-cam channel. I just don’t like to see it more than the building works. Your channel is great and look forward to the next vid. I have a small UA-cam channel that hopefully some day it will grow but for now I’m living through other youtubers. Lol
@@brendanlenane2685 Not at all. I appreciate the feedback and I have developed pretty tough skin over the years.
More ads and sponsor mumbo jumbo than actual content.
