I’m really thankful for your channel. My volleyball team is just a club, we play in the same court as the basketball and badminton teams, most of us play by being self taught became of the fact that we don’t have enough teachers and we can’t afford for a coach. Because of that our captain and vice captain(me) are the only people that help out with teaching the club. but ever since i found this channel and it helped us improve in many ways. Thank you so much😄
Thank you so much for all your videos! They've been super helpful to me trying to learn how to play over the summer before school starts up again! I appreciate your hard work and amazing editing!
Thank you so much! I've been watching your videos because I'm really into volleyball and I want to be able to play it next year, and this really helped me out :)
I’m the 1st position and I got that one cuz it was the only one left and I wanted to be 6th position but tbh I’m so glad I got the 1st I really like it
I'm 10 now and I'm going to play a volleyball match today I'm so nervous............ So... I see your videos your videos is really helpful...... 😊 . . . . Hope I well win
Can you make a video about redirection on the court? When I play one. Team I'm not sure what my role is and where I can go but when I watch games the girls are all over the place and switching.
haii so i have a question :) i am 12 and i’m going to 7th grade (middle school) i am planning to start on the school team, i’ve never really had experience but played a little in 5th grade (not 6th cause covid), i’d like to think i’m good at volleyball do you think i have a good chance of getting on the team?
I’m in like the same situation and you have a very high chance of getting in,but just remember you don’t have to be the best on the team.Just know the basics and be a team player, know how to take criticism, and be vocal, then you should be good!Best of luck to you!
I am 12 and in 7th grade aswell! And all of me and my friends made the team, it was quite easy considering it being middle school so yes I think you have a good chance :D
Do you have any tips for beginners? I've recently been into volleyball and today I'm going into tryouts and have little experience, I've been watching videos but' I'm still nervous😓 I'd love some advice from you! I'll be leaving for tryouts soon so I'll take the advice if I don't make the team.❤
personal Practice, practice everyday, test out each position during personal practice. Watch videos, get some friends to play with you, drink water, stay hydrated, memorize each position :D Good luck!
Hi I’m an upcoming seventh grader whos playing volleyball! I have been playing volleyball for a couple weeks now but I’m still confused. I have my upcoming came on September 3rd and I’m confused by one thing? How do you know if it’s out when ur chasing for the ball are you aloud to go outside the line and get the ball when it’s still in the air?
Try outs are August 9th i don’t have long. I’ve never played volleyball in my life but I really wanna tryout for the team. Is there anyway yuu can help me? I’m 5’2 so I don’t think I can be any blocker I’m also not extremely fast so I can’t be a libero. I don’t know what to do.
I am so confused. My school doesn't go one spot to the right. They go the the opposite of each other, say I'm in the setter's position, when we rotate I'd move to the Outside Hitter's position. I have a game today and I still don't understand it and I am freaking out!
That’s because your school might be doing a different formation, in this case you would just have to follow the direction of the rotation or ask your coach for clarification.
My teacher said I have to be her assistant in the volleyball class next time which is in 4 Days and I also have a competition for my church so Im trying to speed learn volleyball rn
Hi coach what happens when you rotate clockwise? Does this mean you should be familiar with all the positions and their responsibilities as you move in those zones because of rotation? Also, in a 6- 2 formation I undressed that there is no liberal and it is more offensive setup?. If the liberal is in a MB position can he block or attack? Thank you.
yes, you should be familiar with all positions when rotating. There can be a libero in a 6-2 formation, or they will just have to replace another back-row player (since there will be two setters in this formation). In most cases, a libero cannot block or attack upfront.
Thank you very much coach, I am trying to set up a girl's volleyball team and I am very interested in the game and I would appreciate each and every help I get. Do you offer coaching courses or are they any links or Materials you can recommend? Are you on any social media?
I am 13 and going into high school next year, and I really want to join the volleyball team, but hardly have any experience with volleyball and have never played it on a team, is it too late for me to start volleyball?
No, it's not too late! I created a video explaining if it's ever too late, and when the right age to start volleyball is: ua-cam.com/video/H6EuJNolzsU/v-deo.html
yes, when teams rotate their positions change because they don't have one assigned for each player. If someone has a position like a setter, their team will not rotate.
The first contact is usually a player passing the ball to the setter, so the setter volleying to the hitter would be second contact. A setter in charge of offense means that they need to communicate with their team of who the set will go to (outside, left-side, or right-side hitter). This gives the other teammates time to prepare for the third contact.
When u rotate to the left when u got a point, do u keep role u have? For example, pretend I was middle blocker and then we scored a point so now I cange where I stand, am I still middle blocker? Or do I change to a diff role like setter?
When rotating do you need to change position like if your a Libero and you you rotate would you still be a libero or would you need to change depending? I wanna try out for volleyball this summer 😅
can u create a video on 10ft hit line rule; a) is that the backrow player should jump beyond 10 ft to hit ball above net but (b) backrow can hit under 10ft, but ball must be below net?
Hi! I start 8th grade volleyball tomorrow and I have a question. I know i should probably know this by now but I’m kinda confused. When each player rotates to the right, do their positions change too? For example, if you were a setter would you then become a rightside hitter? Sorry if I sound dumb
If it's social volleyball then most likely yes (at least from my experience). If it's a match where 1 or 2 people are a Setter, they will always be a Setter.
Ok for my team I want the twins as my left biter and setter, kurro, and tendou as my other blockers, then POST TIME SKIP Hinata as middle blocker, and ushijima as the left hitter. Libero is going to be the goat nishinoya
This is because there are different formations. Your coach/teacher should let you know which one to follow but this video just shows the most commonly used formation.
Hi I'm a little confused? I want to do volleyball but I don't know what to do. Will the school tell me when are tryouts. Do I not play in school? I'll ask my teachers but I just wanted a second opinion. Thanks
School should tell when tryouts are happening. You don't have to play for your school if you have to, but that would mean that you would have to find somewhere else to play volleyball. It's up to you if you want to play for your school.
@@SohannaVball hi! I am only confused about positons, at my school we don’t really have positions more like the setters and not the setters so I just want to know what to do in each position

Well spoken, well illustrated and well explained! Especially for your age!

Finally a video that actually explains volleyball positions and the rotations thank you so much this video was very helpful.
My brain is totally satisfied with what I have watched .☺️😊
I'm 15 and I'm going to start volleyball for the first time after lockdown. Just wanna know that is it too late for me to start volleyball?
No, it's not too late! I made a video explaining the right age to start: ua-cam.com/video/H6EuJNolzsU/v-deo.html
Never too late.
No it’s not late! You can pick up quickly!
Omg I am 15 and just now wanting to start too! I was just going to ask this :)

Thank you! I’m going to watch this every day before my game this week.
This is the third video I’m watching of yours it’s really helping me understand how to play my position

Tysmm for this!,i've played vollyball for almost 10 months but im still struggling with positions.
this is literally the best video for volleyball i’ve seen😭✋🏼 formations were so confusing but i actually understood well because of this

I love the way you explain every volleyball position! your video is very smooth and engaging. Thank you for sharing.
Underrated channel
Thank You so much, I just had my first season as well as first club season and is looking for ways too improve!
I've really been helped. Thanks for the instructions
Thank you very much for this video, it helped me understand positions a lot better :)
This really clears up my doubts even though I've been playing for a year now. Tysm!!!
Also at 3:33 I saw the Haikyuu! video and went 🔥_🔥
thanks for yhis i really need it, i always struggling to understand the position and the roles of each player ❤️❤️

Tysm for this
So when you rotate , do you change roles as well? Like if ur a Libero when u rotate do u play an outside hitter?
No you keep your roles.
Im 13 and next year I’m gonna be in high school di me and my best freind decided we gonna do a sport and now I’m obbesing over how to play volleyball
What happens to the libero once he is rotating from 5 to 4? I know they cant be on the front line so would they be switched out with someone else?
In most cases, when players are assigned a position like a libero, they don't rotate.
Nice! I learnt a lot from it

there are many videos outside but this one is the best thank you a lot
Thank you, hope you learned a lot!
I thought the OH was DS and RH the setter, and the left and right outsides where blockers.......????? I'm confused 😕
Yes, they can all block but it depends on the formation. Ex. some teams might only double block where only the setter and middle blocker would block.

Well it basically means that there are no rules related fo formation you can decide it according to your game play

if you know it’s going to land out of bounds DONT HIT IT. it will hit the ground and be your point. However if you hit the ball it is still in game
Thank youuuu 🏐🤍
Question! When you rotate, do you keep your role or does it change with your spot?
Yes, you do switch roles unless u are a libero. There is an exception with libero because they dont rotate
very helpful thanks

I can't understand how do people have positions like "im a setter" like whe they rotate their position is gonna change right?
yes, when teams rotate their positions change because they don't have one assigned for each player. If someone has a position like a setter, their team will not rotate.

Yes, but it depends on the formation the team runs.
hi i have a question, so if i'm assigned as a libero i can't rotate?
no in most cases, the libero will never rotate.
Please post more!
I will
for the attack line the back row players can or can’t hit the ball in front of?
the back row players can't jump in front of the attack line and hit.

The rightside hitter is usually in position 1, but this can change because each team has its own formations.
@@SohannaVball THANK YOU
Nice!
TYSM!
im so confused cause the postions are put differently in every video and picture I see
This is because there are different formations. Your coach/teacher should let you know which one to follow but this video just shows the most commonly used formation.
Does the position change when you rotate?
It depends if your team is doing a specific formation. In some school teams positions rotate but in most high level games they don’t.
How is the setter in the top?
This is the most common formation for vball. If your team has the setter in a different position, you would be using a different formation.
are any of these positions different or more difficult if your left righted or does it not matter?
should be rotating clockwise to the right not the left...Good video
Im 12 and I'm gonna start to play VB for ge first time ever, any tips?
does setter allowed to block the ball?
yes, a setter can block.
Nice 👌
RH means Opposite Hitter ?
Hey Sohanna, is there a set time for when players are supposed to move clockwise or does it depend on the team coach??
Your players rotate after your team earns a point.
Question can u set over the net, or does it have to be passed to one of the rh or lh?
In some levels of volleyball setting off a serve is not allowed, but otherwise it's fine.
I watched the whole video and I’m still confused
What are you specifically confused on? I have many others videos on my channel that helps explain positions in different ways. Hope that helps!
