I noticed much like everyone else who have commented that Larry's health maybe appears sadly to be failing. He has a noticeable tremour in his fretting hand implying to a possibly medical condition regarding his health. What we has fans should never forget is that he remains one of the great session guitarists of our age and his music along with his collaborations as brought much enjoyment and appreciation of the instrument to so many people. Personally, I love the guy and would like to thank him for his years of great recording work. To "Sir" Larry Carlton, an honorary distinction where in, if he were British that title surely would be bestow upon him for his undoubted service as a recording muscian and exponent of the guitar. He is a national treasure 💖.
Thank you Sire and Larry! Been playing USA Gibson and Fender for 34 years. The quality of this guitar is so good. I love this guitar. I'm proud to play this guitar live....and it's very fun.
Such a great guy and what a legendary player. When I was young I had the chance to chat with him on the phone and he was super encouraging. His best advice was - play what you love. Find your voice and go for it. I'd be proud to own one of those!
I hope this is retirement level income for Larry Carlton. Such an illustrious career and so many sacrifices along the way. It would be great for him to maybe sit back and enjoy the fruits of his labors of so many years. In part, I'm getting a Cherry Sunburst H7 to pay back in some small way all the blessings his music has been during the course of the last 40 years or more of my life. God bless Larry Carlton and Sire guitars. Maybe, just maybe, I'll finally be able to learn all of "Room 335"...
@@BabylonMister If I could save enough pennies, I'd get a black one for BB King, a white one (like his 355) AND a Tobacco Sunburst for Alex Lifeson and the Cherry Sunburst for Larry Carlton. "National Treasure" is a perfect description. I like it!
Thank you mr. Carlton. I live in Italy and i bought the beautiful H7, cherry sunburst. I own also Gibson and Eastman, and i must say that the H 7 sounds very well, a professional guitar. Thank you Sire and mr.Carlton
I''ve owned an H7 for almost a year. The only flaw I could find is that the G string is slightly sharp on the first few frets, but that can be fixed filing the nut some more. It played great out of the box, but I adjusted the setup to where I like it, and it really plays as good as anything. I A/B'd with a $3000 Gibson 335, and I liked the Sire's pickups more. The neck of the H7 is thinner than your standard 335, so could be an issue for fans of big necks. I honestly bought it expecting to have to change the tuners, pickups, bridge... but I really didn't have to. Stays in tune great, sounds great, feels great. Fret leveling and fret dressing is great. Definitely a great guitar for anyone who wants a 335 style guitar without breaking the bank.
I was on the fence about getting one of these, so reading your review on it has definitely pushed me towards getting it. Especially considering the vast amount of gear you have as a session guitarist, I'll take your word for it! 👍
@@alvaromendez5454 yeah! I can do some more filing on the nut to be honest. But thats the only flaw. First few frets are a tad sharp when open strings are tuned. But thats it! Everything else is great!
I've been using mine for almost a year now. Yes, the G string was sharp at the first 2 frets on mine. I had it adjusted and the intonation is fine now. This guitar covers the many styles I play, Latin, Jazz standards, dance, blues among others. I got it after watching and researching as much as I could, especially with Mr. 335 endorsements! What was discussed in the video has been my experience as well. The playability suits my hands with ease and comfort. It's a keeper!.
He is putting affordable guitars in to new players hands both he and Marcus Miller are taking keeping live music alive for the next generation. Something Gibson and Fender forgot years ago

I got mine a few months back and I love it. Mine is the same red as the one Larry is playing in this video. I got it and my Katana Artist amp , both from Sweetwater. They sound awesome together. Jay, my sales rep, was a great help in my decision to get them. I couldn't be happier.

He's such a class act and a trooper and is just one of the all time greats. I genuinely hope he's doing well but this video really kinda hurts me to watch a little.

Could have been nerves from being filmed, wanting to get it right. He is a gift to us all, hopefully all it is. Anyway, these Sire guitars are amazing. The rolled frets are incredible. I’ve got the l7v and looking to get a T7 also. I’ve got plenty of high end stuff that I’ll probably get rid of and replace with these. The overseas productions are getting so much better and rival the domestically made guitars at 4 to 5 times the price. What a great time to be a musician/guitarist!
One of my main influences by way of early Michael Franks albums. Superb voice on the instrument. Love seeing him. I'd love to try one of these guitars! Love and light.
One thing I’ve never heard highlighted on the H7 is that the distance between the bridge and the tailpiece is bigger than a standard 335. I think that’s because Larry’s ‘69 was converted from a trapeze tailpiece and Sire used those specs. Not sure. Regardless, I like how comfortable it is to rest my palm on the bridge and how easy it is to bend notes because of the longer string length from the bridge to the tailpiece. Thank you, Mr. Carlton and Sire.

I got my Sire S7 vintage about a month ago. It sounds so nice and feels amazing to play. The only thing that was off about it was some of the frets were not 100% polished. Of course that was an easy fix up and now it plays better than some $1,500 guitars.

Mitch! You do such a great job and having Larry on for an interview to talk about his amazing Sire guitars is the bomb. Grande chitarra ma il capotasto da 40 è per le mie dita troppo stretto per gli accordi di primo manico che risultano difficili. Sicuramente la H7v col capotasto da 43 ha superato questo problema. Peccato però che i p90 non sono per me preferiti.
Ugh. Makes me sad that for a few pieces of silver he’d sell his reputation. (“The guitar wasn’t even set up.” Lol. Imagine how that make his guitar tech and guitar techs in general feel)

Put some graphite pencil dust into the nut and bridge slots. Often helps with the tuning on new guitars.

Conditions at sea are ever changing so definitely affects the humidity content of the wood.

Doesn’t look like Sweetwater has any lefties but if you check out Andertons, they have lefties!
@@EricMerrow I imagine Sweetwater could just order you one.
Grande chitarra ma il capotasto da 40 è per le mie dita troppo stretto per gli accordi di primo manico che risultano difficili. Sicuramente la H7v col capotasto da 43 ha superato questo problema. Peccato però che i p90 non sono per me preferiti.
I'm a HUGE Larry Carlton fan. I'm a little concerned in the shaking hands. Early Parkinson's ?
How to get vibrato in your playing. Celebrate your 70 th birthday!!!
He looks very frail these days but wow what a player
Nice instrument. Kinda sounds ..........
No sound
Larry have Parkinson????
Ugh. Makes me sad that for a few pieces of silver he’d sell his reputation. (“The guitar wasn’t even set up.” Lol. Imagine how that make his guitar tech and guitar techs in general feel)
